  1. While I agree with you. I'd say they got recently a lot better in gameplay design (Which was probably also the result of staff changes). KOTOR2 and NWN2 (OC) aren't exactly "good". Especially when it comes to encounter design.
  2. You mean derived from the first two games' system? Because Beth didn't come up with GURPS. The only thing they added was WATS, and even that was based off of the targeting system in 1-2. Well if you want to get technical yes. But FO1/2 have nothing to do with how things worked in FO3 where as NV was based on FO3. And whats the point exactly? NV improved upon the gameplay/mechanics of FO3 in multiple ways.
  3. How? Why do you think FO3 had better mechanics? How? It basically improved tenfold on the system. Not misusing VATS is actually viable now in NV theres less reasons for some skills to be dumps and the perks aren't as wildly.
  4. Sawyer's IP is another Unreal 3 game? No, Hunted was UE3.
  5. Uhm, yes they were. This was repeadetly stated by several members of the project. Furthermore they are also passionnate too about South Park because for the devs its actually a pretty smart show. According to Avellone back at Black Isle one of the Artist drew South Park versions of the Planescape: Torment Charachters. Oh, another thing about Black Isle which you seem to have forgotten is that they made Dark Alliance 2. DSIII was basically based on that style. Also I don't think Obsidian and especially Avellone is pretentious enough to think of themselves as making high "Art" as you describe it. (And if you mean it in the sense: "Rather done other projects"... Yeah, but that counts for all games and refers to indivual developers preferences. That's also kinda what this is for)
  6. @metiman I don't really think you understand how game development worked. And even then they were passionate and proud about every project so far despite what you may think.
  7. This has been happening since a few weeks ago http://www.giantbomb...gatecom/532919/$ Who owns that site at the moment anyway?
  8. Avellone himself is an owner, too. Apart from him it's basically all guys that were around from the beginning of Black Isle.
  9. Was our pleasure! Though, don't overwork yourself. Looking through and sort all this is quite the feat.
  10. Something I didn't mention before (but was probably mentioned in the comments/the devs know themselves) Don't make a game that actually would have chances to get approved by a publisher. That's not what Kickstarter should be for regarding major studios. Either do something completly original or old-school (IMO, of course)
  11. Then report me for it. It really was detrimental to the thread and I think it makes you ten times more of a jerk for telling me that I can't speak my mind. Except I didn't? I said you can argue posts. The only thing I said to you that you shouldn't be a **** about it and elevate your own opinions above others. The devs will be smart enough to filter managable and relevant information. There's no reason for you trying to downplay others posts in the first place. Also, seriously. You replace what I said with "Blah, blah, blah"? And why would I report you? This isn't criminal, just a simple call to common sense.
  12. Wulf. If you want to be constructive how about by starting to not trying to discredit everyone else and holding your own opinion up high despite of what you think of them? Because that's REALLY not constructive nor are such posts any more "detrimental" to this thread. I mean, it isn't wrong to discuss opinions here (and I don't agree with that poster myself. At least about the Planescape part) but don't do it like a ****.
  13. No, wulf it wouldn't. I'm pretty sure you can actually ask the Obsidian crew about that as they tried to pitch things like this multiple times in the past. Including an Arcanum sequel. And how does GOG selling old games equal to the production of a new, similiar one? That doesn't even make sense.
  14. Your only choice seems to going back through the swamp again. It shouldn't take too long though if you skip past everything.
  15. And in this thread we see the desperate behavior of pennyless students on the internet. Truly remarkable.
  16. Why not? The Planescape Setting is big, creative and has mutliple stories still left in it. It's not like Torment touched on everything possible in it.
  17. 20'000 views now and 200 comments on the Blog Post
  18. @CommanderCool Not a sequel. Another game set in the Planescape universe.
  19. Make the RPG YOU and your co-workers want I also accept Your Highschool RPG Dr. Who RPG Planescape 2 (Not a sequel. Just a game set in the Planescape Setting) Original IP Darklands 2 Arcanum 2 Just has to be turn-based, wordy, full of C&C. Ya know the drill.
  20. http://forums.obsidian.net/blog/1/entry-158-if-obsidian-kickstarter/
  21. And now its the biggest funded project in kickstart history.
  22. 1 Mill. 1 Mill. funded in LESS THAN A DAY I think people are underestimating how big this really is (for smaller/niche games and "undesired gernes" at least)
