  1. They bring more people in on the project who work on the additional stuff as well as free up work of others so that they can work on the things they need to work on. The release date isn't exactly fixed, depending on bugs.
  2. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS! Something I wished for since months before PE even started. Finally.
  3. 2.8 Million reached!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We made it and now my dream team is complete!
  4. Only if it fits the lore, like against an omnipotent being. What I do would like to have however is coming across vastly stronger opponents where it's about survival more than anything.
  5. They seem to be doing their best, updating their kickstarter video, Q&As, Livestream, Interviews. This campaign has been the most passionate and best managed Kickstarter campaign so far.
  6. I'd be happy with another big city as much as the next person... but I'd bet good money we aren't seeing $3.5 million. It is just not likely, end bump in pledges or no. I'll bet with you. And I have no doubt we'll make it. I'm curious as to what, other than sheer optimism, fuels your believe that this will happen. Optimism, having witnessed many previous kickstarters and this https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjRsTwF0aHv6dFVwaTF1WTI5b24tbGxpQUdQNU1TSHc#gid=1 Look under "Normalized by Interpolation"
  7. Look what I found..... http://www.ustream.tv/channel/project-eternity-live-stream
  8. Don't confuse my passion for the success of this project for trolling. I want the best for P:E. I want Planescape Torment. I want Icewind Dale. I want Baldurs Gate. NWN2 was not successful. It barely even launched, never mind on time. To say that it was a hit because it had expansions is a fallacy. I can name any number of movies and games that got undeserved sequels or expansions despite having a lackluster reception. Again, not successful: LOTRO. You know what MMORPG's do when they start failing miserably? They go free to play where they slowly become forgotten and irrelevant. Do you want me to entertain you with some examples? Speaking of not launching, anyone who does a moderate amount of digging can find why Ziets left Obsidian. We might as well have Michael Bay direct the movie and Nickleback do the score if Ziets is joining the team. They're successful right? They must be great! Still Trollin'. NWN2 was successful (I still remember it being the top-selling game in it's first month), even if it can be argued if it was because of its predecessor. LOTRO still got successful (And before that, like ANY other MMO just wasn't that successful because of WOW), not to mention my other arguments there. And in both cases Ziets was a simple designer (In NWN2's case he even entered the project late IIRC). What about the Leads and all the other members who worked on these projects? And I'm still sure you don't know why he left Obsidian. Except if you're actually suggesting Ziets had something to do with a game's cancellation. In which case everyone at Obsidian would downright suck, especially Sawyer.

  10. maybe if the fund raising campaign could last a bit longer... No way in 4 days they're going to reach that goal, even if today screenshot will have a lasting effect on the amount of pledges. Yes, they can. Last day spikes are amazing I tell ya. And with the way Obsidian has been handeling this project it's certainly possible.
  11. Well, *updated* in the sense of the new logo and concept art.
  12. Also just to *entertain* you: - LOTRO is considered a faithful adaption of the Lord of the Rings books. More so than even the movies. Since it went F2P. It's been very successful with the model and highly regarded - NWN2: Was successful (enough to get 2 add-ons too). Worked on Act 2 of it which is from a writing standpoint (in parts at least) the most liked NWN2 act. Was Lead Creative Designer of Mask of the Betrayer which is highly regarded in the CRPG community. Was successful. -Dungeon Siege III: Sold ok. Not overly successful. The Narrative itself is highly regarded, if barebones. TLDR: Stop trollin'.
  13. A while ago, Feargus & Co were talking about looking into a paypal counter. I think two days ago it was said that it should go up the same day. But, it hasn't. Is it still coming?
  14. Now that tthe new goals are out, I hope Obsidian keeps some stretch goals in their backhand to avoid what happened in the beginning of the kickstarter. It's unpredictable and we may as well break 3.5 Mil.
  15. I don't think any update so far managed to be actually *on time*.
