  1. ? Is there a problem with the review code? Because there are sure as hell different armors.
  2. Another german console magazine, Mgames, apparently trashed Dungeon Siege III in their new issue giving it the lowest score of the "big" games of the month. 74% Other scores of the month MGames 7/2011: L.A. Noire 82%, DiRT 3 89%, Ocarina of Time 3D 93%, Dungeon Siege III 74%, Brink 79%, Lego Pirates 77%, Dead or Alive 3DS 85% via a twitter post
  3. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/25/dungeons...gerdale-review/ After what joystiq did in the conduit 2 review Conduit 2 review I can't trust ANYTHING that is printed on that site - bunch of unprofessional scumbags at their worst. While the game very well may be bad, I feel that an alternative review site should be linked. Review Gametrailers does a lot of terrible reviews too. Also its not really fair to dismiss one reviewer because of the missteps of another. Same site or not.
  4. A mix between Sacred 2 and Torchlight I^d tink.
  5. Joystiq slammed Daggerdale, calling it a terrible use of the D&D Name http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/25/dungeons...gerdale-review/
  6. It's slower than simply tap a button to throw the attack, which is kind of a handicap for this game, and I didn't say 'boring', I said 'annoying', as in being forced to go the hotbar, then back to the enemy, way too often in a short period of time. I... think we're not talking about the same thing here. Or we don't have the same impression about combat. Because in the scenario I meant this isn't necessary.
  7. Wouldn't that control scheme be too slow and really annoying, given the game's genre and gameplay? The player needs to activate his special powers almost immediately. With WASD and I meant it more as a secondary option. Also since when is this slow and boring? I'm talking about using it as a hotbar replacement.
  8. One of the scandinavian game journalists on the Deus Ex HR forums made some off hand comment about a preivew of DS3 and how it seemed okay but had the typical bad Obsidian camera angles... Yeah, I know. Don't think that has anything to do with the engine itself though particularly much. And while that comment might've worried me, the lengthy gameplay walkthroughs we've seen look absolutely fine to me camera-wise. It seems to be very subjective anyway. Both german reviewers didn't adress the camera as an issue.
  9. Yeah, thats kinda the point? Thats why I said it breathes new life into it? F2P models have been very successful in the past few years depending on the game.
  10. No, this actually has a big chance to breath new life into AOC.
  11. I hope a good modder makes this. All I have seen of Dungeon Siege 3 until now is much too consolish. In this Interview Nathanial Chapman gave, you can see many Gameplay Scenes that just look like a pure Console Game. Interview Dungeon Siege 3 Will Obsidian update the Interface for PC Gamers in the future? It would be great! Nah. Yes, I agree that the interface is pretty consolish but it is very functional and I actually prefer what we've seen so far. (I'm really not a fan of inventory tetris) Apart from that though the big problem I see in it still are "just" the controls. For example why can't the symbols around the charachters portrait not be used as a hotbar? It would easily lend itself to it. Switch with a keyboard button stances. Use skill icons to use skills, use orb icons and then click on the skill or enemy to use the special attack associated with it. As of now it looks like the Keyboard/Mouse scheme is way more complicated than it has to be.
  12. But we do. First off what Nightshape said (at least the first part). Secondly its an engine and tools specifically designed to support RPGs. Cryengine is not. For more information the Rich Taylor interview here http://www.gamebanshee.com/interviews/1017...iii/page-2.html
  13. Age of Conan goes free to play
  14. I still can't believe how fast Sonys reputation comes crashing down
  15. Die in a fire or something. 4 is one of the only times I will ever refer to a game as "self-indulgent." It's one of those words that seems absolutely meaningless to apply to this kind of context, but there's literally nothing else to describe it. Metal Gear Solid 4 spent as much time in cutscenes as gameplay. If not more. And never gave you enough of any particular gameplay segment to appreciate it. Not to mention the cutscenes were awfully boring in comparison to 3.
  16. Why exactly "unplayable"?
  17. With those, of course, I feel sad but not surprised at all. If they do their job well this doesn't bother me.
  18. I have to disagree on lava filled cave. Did you watch the full sequence? Also, Steampunk city is generic medieval town for you? Also I was impressed with the haunted house it fit the atmosphere and the enviroment. Though blue-tinted affair? Don't you mean green? That said, I'm not really an expert at all in art direction as established before so its just my personal opinion.
  19. They are both pretty mainstream magazines. Nothing niche about them. Though it would be cool if there are other reviews coming in.
  20. Yeah, but they're still good enough and I wasn't really expecting 90+ scores . Thanks Bendu and C2B for the run-down! C2B, is there anyway you could tell us why the PC Games guy considers the last hours as the best in the game, without spoilers? He didn't write it. But in the score system they have a diagramm where they show how much fun they had at certain points in the game. And that went up and between 9-10 (of 10) in the last 4 hours. @Tigranes: I disagree. What we have seen was very varied. From Stonebridge to the ice, jungle, farmlands it was very varied. Thats actually even the best part of the game according to PC Games. Its atmospheric, detailed, varied world.
  21. PC Gamer said that it was also nearly bugfree. He only had one bug where enemies got teleported back to their original position.
  22. Considering the PC Games score is out too I think I can post the rundown. (Which is very different than Gamestars) +Very thought of, action based battle system +No lenghts during the game. Everythings seamlessly. +Atmospheric, varied world/dungeons +Interesting, complex story with C&C - that isn't that influential - Charachters act like puppets in dialog - A little short in comparison to the previous DS games. He especially praised the dungeons, calling them the most varied he has ever seen in ARPGs. He also highlighted the last hours as one of the best part in the game. (In stark contrast to gamestar) Also there are ending slides where the C&C probably has most effect on. Edit: He also needed 15 hours for the main quest. Edit2: Also they critizied PC controls. Edit3: The atmospheric, detailed, varied world was his favorite part about the game. Again in contrast to Gamestar.
  23. It was a horrible review by a horrible reviewer. Have you read it? Care to elaborate? Yes. To name two very visible points: She starts off by insisting DSIII has absolutly no story connection to previous Dungeon Siege Games. ...Except maybe, 10th Legion, Empire of the stores, Majority of the cast are descendants of the original Dungeon Siege cast etc. It couldn't possible be MORE build up on previous DS games/lore. Secondly she says that there are only 6 skills.... while showing off a screenshot that portrays 9. Yeah.... Not to mention that the entire article was in general horrible written.
  24. It was a horrible review by a horrible reviewer.
