  1. I rather not have it. It hikes up the costs of adding dialogue to the game...and that's not a good thing in my book.
  2. ...uhm...actually *everyone* voting in this poll here is (at least by OPs definition) already *pro* romance. The only question is *how much* in favor they are. In the other (now closed) romance thread/poll it was 2/3 - 3/4 in favor, 1/4 - 1/3 against romances.
  3. And of course, sticking things in the holes of your party members is even more important, right? ...sigh...just tell us already where the big, bad romance touched you :-/ ...seriously.
  4. No, they are not. In any way. Take the "romance" out of PS:T and what do you have? The same game minus something completely innocuous, minor and unimportant. PS:T had romance? I would call some small dialog choices with Annah and FFG romance. ...that and...oh, say half of the main theme / motivation of the whole game (Deionarra). No biggie. Deionarra is not a motivation or even a major part of the plot, she's just another casualty of TNO. There is no romancing to speak of, its just a non interactive story/quest the PC goes through and can give an outcome to. Its very well done, but its got nothing to do with BW style romance. What Deinoarra is to TNO you only learn late in the game...and one might argue that finding that out actually is a rather big motivation to the player. "BW style romance" ...yeah...what is it with that misconception that anyone who wants to see romance implemented in PE wants "BW style romance" ?

  6. How about losing the Implication that romances would have a "significant" impact on the dev resources. Your poll is simply loaded with negative wording like "sacrificing" resources; as if they'd be wasted when used to create a romance.
  7. ...than you really should have worded your poll differently. Right now it pretty much reads: "Do you want romances or do you want a RPG that doesn't suck ?".
  8. A pretty underhanded poll. By pitting romances against the two core mechanics of an RPG (story and gameplay) you basically imply that implementing any form of romance necessarily must have a negative impact on the game itself.
  9. Do you really fail to understand that Obsidian would be essentially giving out two games for the price of one? It's very bad business, since nothing would prevent anyone from giving their spare serial out for free to another person. This. Having the same game on Steam and GOG might count as just one game for you, but Obsidian has to provide (and "pay for") two copies. I don't think that's reasonable.
  10. A majority of who? People flooding this site? Same thing happened to the WL2 forums during their KS campaign. Once people realized they weren't getting another touchy feely BioWare style game they either exclaimed very loudly and pulled their pledges or simply lost interest. You know that the people "flooding" this site are probably the exact same people that actually support the PE kickstarter, right ? You know, the people actually *funding* the game ? ...and you somewhat have a strange recollection of the early WL2 forum days. A minority (just like here, coincidentally) was *vehemently* against any form of romance -most supported it but *still* didn't want the "Bioware style, touchy feely" romances...and they didn't lose interest more than the bulk of the WL2 supporters. Just look at their forum now. The "What to include" board (the most frequented one) has had 3 (!) posts today.
  11. Length of a thread isn't necessarily a very good determination of quality though right? I'm pretty sure a thread like that would go nowhere and wouldn't have much point aside from just a basic post count show of support. In that case I think a poll would work better. True...but than again I wonder how much contributions that paint supporters as unhealthy, social shut-ins or retards add to the "quality" of this thread... Being supportive to a concept doesn't mean you share the exact same opinion on how to best implement it.
  12. Hmm, considering that a majority seems to want these romances I'm not so sure that a "positive comments only" thread would be that short.
  13. I guess I can kind of understand the publisher side of this. AAA budget games are slowly going the way of the Dodo...and now that kickstarter proves to be more and more reliable for financing professional titles with small to medium sized budgets, their reason to exist is slowly vanishing.
  14. ...well I would suppose that part of that deal was that the publisher would also pay x million $ if the kickstarter reaches y million $...resulting in a game with a budget of x+y. Otherwise this makes zero sense.
  15. "People with healthy social lives..." "...tards". Ugh, so you are *that* guy. Gratz on tellin' how it is ...*slow clap*...
  16. Buggy games are rarely caused by lack of (beta) testing. It's the lack of time/resources to do the necessary fixes that cause buggy games.
  17. I kind of doubt that (would be nice of course). The next spike will only come after new/interesting stretch goals are announced / some major gaming news outlet features PE again or when we reach the last 2 days of the project.
  18. Phew...so no mp/coop for PE ? That's a real relief. I was worried when I read the "SP is our focus" quote. Bioware said similar things with ME3.
  19. Wow, not a single vote in favor of level scaling.
  20. I'm unfamiliar with the context for this particular character, but if that's indicative of the PS:T designs in general, I'd say they did pretty bad in that department. This isn't the impression I get from the Obsidian games I have played, though. Pls. play Torment before making such statements :-/. Anna was perfectly fine.
  21. Not to split hairs, but...he didn't actually say that. He said that he wanted that to be the case. He didn't hammer down anything (though I'm pretty sure we won't see any kind of the chainmail-bikini).
  22. Yes it is. A nice armor. Not practical. Or protective against...oh let's say arrows to the chest...but yeah...it's a nice armor.
