  1. Skyrim looks pretty but still far away from realistic. Different environment, different trees, different light conditions. If you had a point, you didn't a good job at conveying it.
  2. Well, GameInformer, which had the exclusive on the original teaser image, called it a brand new franchise. May just be a mistake on their part since Spike's website said nothing about the IP. Time will tell.
  3. On GameBanshee. Snip ahead: As the title of the article (and the ending) hints, we'll have a part two up soon.
  4. Uhm, your TV may be the best TV, but if it's not set right (either because of the TV settings or the game's own gamma settings) is not going to do much.. but whatever, as long as it floats your boat.
  5. Uh, are you sure your monitor/TV's gamma is okay? Because dungeons definitely aren't dark enough that you'd ever need the Pipboy light to see. (I even used a mod to make them darker/more contrast-y )
  6. News travels slow in the world of Skyrim: people in Dawnstar were surprised I absorbed the soul of a dragon when I had already killed Alduin. To be fair, the people in Riverwood and Whiterun go singing my praise.
  7. We have covered Treasures of the Sun too now.
  8. Steven has written a review over at GameBanshee.
  9. Considering they are not comparable at all in terms of costs theres nothing poor about it. Thanks to Anthony Davis we already know that DSIII was low cost compared to other full price games. Anyway, about Deus Ex. SQE specifically stated in that report that they were very happy with DXs sales and want to continue the brand. The price going down is also easily explained with DX beeing massivly overshipped in the beginning. Though (as with DSIII) it begins to stabilize. The List price itself is still $59.99. Not to diminish Obsid's achievements, but DXHR with its pretty small team was probably on the cheaper side of AAA games, even with the dev cycle. ...Deus Ex: Human Revolution had a p. small team? Wasn't it around 100 devs?
  10. ...wat. I'm not sure where that preposterous notion may come from but nope, it shipped more than double the copies and probably sold about as much in proportion to Obsidian's title too.
  11. It lacks the nuances of Morrowind and its wacky lore (which, to be fair, was mostly relegated to the books), but I must say it's pretty decent. Nothing to write home about, but a nice fantasy romp with well-placed setpieces and twists. EDIT: Note that I haven't quite finished it yet though so maybe my judgment will change after the last 1-2 quests.
  12. Blood dragons seem easier than normal dragons to me.
  13. I've received the beta keys myself too, but I honestly don't think I'd have time.. what to do? Redeem or not redeem?
  14. It's really just a dungeon crawl so I don't know if I'd consider it an overall impressive quest.. but those are really well-done dungeons yeah.
  15. This forum would be a boring place without people such as Volourn and Morgoth.
  16. It's not really an RPG, more of a.. Zelda-like/beat'em isometric-thingie, but it's still extremely fun and has one of the most innovative (and surprisingly polished) way to tell its story I've seen in a videogame ever. A great example of how important 'cursory' elements actually are in videogames.
  17. I really need to brush up on the Elder Scrolls lore.
  18. 3/4 people have left Obsidian. Turn-over is not exactly unheard of in the gaming industry. Should more and more people leave, that's when we'll have to start worrying about the health of the company.
  19. I don't think the Septim dynasty has anything to do with the Empire anymore after their last heir became a dragon statue, so it doesn't seem weird to me that they may find that advantageous for historical revisionist reasons. I may be overestimating Beth's current writers tho', so I'll wait for my copy and see for myself.
  20. There's no Morrowind anymore Red Mountain exploded apparently, though I'm fuzzy on the details.
  21. I was afraid of that, and reviews mentioning it pretty much convinced me it would be a horrible UI for PC. Guess I'll play with my Xbox 360 controller unless mouse and keyboard feels smoother for gameplay.
  22. So, who's funding those titles? Where are they? Otherwise, STOP LYING!!!!11!!
  23. I'm not seeing any publisher interested in the idea of another party RTwP RPG though, much less a turn-based one.
  24. Going by leaked footage there are plenty of enemy types that are terrifying for starter players, and they also seem to be handplaced. It's very little to judge upon, but I'm not worried about that. As long as the game has a sense of culture and lore (and at this point, I have very little doubt it will), I will enjoy it, though it's unlikely I'll consider it the BESTEST GAME EVAH. P.S. : I mourn the loss of attributes and think they still could have been retained with the new leveling system, but the perk system looks like a decent attempt to introduce a chance to specialize your character at least a little. P.P.S. : Perk list.
  25. Well, my copy won't be here for a while yet, next weekend at the earliest. Not in a hurry though, plenty of other stuff to do, including putting some hours into Oblivion.
