  1. I have a hunch Zoraptor might have been aware of that.
  2. No prob! Hopefully they'll sort it out soon
  3. Oh yee of little faith. Don't say that on GB, you wouldn't want to influence people negatively Well, it's capitalism baby, they have to win me over and make me interested, I don't really have to go out of my way to enjoy the stuff they show.
  4. Send them a mail. Seriously, from what I've seen, aside from all their screw-ups with DRM and Steam, they *do* keep in touch. Even refunded plenty of unhappy people.
  5. I don't really play online too often, but if there's something interesting online I'd like to be able to access it directly without having to go through a subscription. To be fair, though, PS+ is an excellent service, so I can see those added functionalities softening the blow a lot. Even Microsoft is taking a page from them and starting to release free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.
  6. Well, I'm going to wait for actual gameplay footage. The Witcher 3 at least looks graphically impressive, Dragon Age: Inquisition doesn't, and I'm not convinced by their artist choices. Keeping the proportions of the Dragon Age II models but going with more realistic textures, shaders and filters just doesn't seem to work. EDIT: BruceVC actually made a good point: Divinity: Original Sin looks more interesting than both.
  7. Well, online is behind a paywall now. But that didn't seem to do much damage to the 360 last gen.
  8. Jerry Cantrell opening the conference felt completely out of place, yet it was also probably one of the few genuinely enjoyable moments E3 has offered so far.
  9. So, according to a GameTrailers tweet Mirror's Edge 2 is a reboot of the "franchise". A franchise comprised of one game. What the hell?
  10. ?? Josh has already confirmed there's going to be minimal level scaling if at all. I'm really not sure what level cap has to do with level scaling, btw.
  11. It's unlikely Bethesda will announce it at E3.
  12. That Dragon Age III was underwhelming. And I'm not sure why they note "open world" as a positive. It's absolutely not a seamless addition to the series, and it feels like they're trying to hop on the bandwagon, given that's what currently popular.
  13. Dark Souls trailers were flashy too. Just search Bartholomew on YouTube.
  14. I think Titanfall looks incredibly boring. I just don't see the appeal.. you can shoot.. and shoot inside a mech! Though the mech still feels like a normal soldier.
  15. It's one of their highest profile franchise, thinking about it. And hey, that title doesn't even really look awful (though it didn't look good either).
  16. My emotion is closer to trepidation to be honest. But to be fair, the RPG's landscape looks a lot more varied in the future thanks to indies and Kickstarter, so even if it doesn't look good it won't be the end of the world.
  17. They already have.
  18. IIRC Josh said that the game will have a level cap that's only slightly higher than Baldur's Gate, and that they're more or less making a lot of custom-crafted content for every level rise (so not only stats increase, but abilities to choose for every class etc.). Unless it will be difficult to reach the cap with a single playthrough, New Game+ would more or less end up like a very boring option, as you would start capped out and there'd be no character progression choices to make anymore.
  19. I'm more excited for Project Eternity than anything shown here. It's good to know that the industry is finally going back to the neglected first-person shooter genre, though!
  20. Vita's slow death as a platform continues.
  21. Meanwhile, by defending the right of big breasted women in video games you sure are doing wonders to help middle eastern girls! If that's *really* your problem and not just a poor attempt to divert a discussion, why don't I see you opening threads on the patriarchal societies in certain middle east countries?
  22. More or less? Not only you accused me of making an argument I never made, but it's clear from how you structured that response that you don't understand what feminist critics mean by using patriarchy. Hint: they don't think there's actually a man's club conspiracy to put them back in the kitchen!
  23. Welcome to the internet, where video games are considered a tool of the patriarchy to oppress women LOL. Someone's just had one of his nerves touched.
  24. Welcome to the internet, where men that feel threatened by feminism and band together dwell.
  25. Not that I'm a fan of Dragon's Crown distorted spines and contortionist poses (it's pretty obviously an intentional artistic choice, but it's still not to my taste), but looking at the whole gallery of characters and going from interviews with the art director, it's pretty obvious that classic fantasy art from Frazetta and Larry Elmore was exaggerated to an extreme degree, with every single man being buff to the point of making Arnie look wimpy and every woman sexualized and in a skimpy outfit (the Sorceress is an extreme example anyway, the Amazon and the Elf aren't as obviously meant to be titillating).* Anyway, good news for the OP: Dragon's Crown and games with sexualized women are definitely not disappearing! There's really a lot of them if you take a look around you! In fact, the reason some people protest, is that character design choices of this kind have become so commonplace that it's difficult to find games where women characters don't have the sole or secondary purpose of titillating male players! And that's a problem, sorry. Because it puts off a significant part of potential players, because it reduces the amount of options the developers have in terms of both art and character development **, and because it's a sign of an immature industry. * Yeah, those are arguably stereotypical traits in terms of gender, but if you look at Frazetta's art (which is amazing!) it's easy to see where they originate from. ** I still hear too many stories about publishers or devs in lead positions that ask to sex up character designs. Some of them are most likely going to be false, but there's a bit too much smoke for my tastes.
