  1. That could've worked in Fallout 3 too, it's just that they took the easy way and simply put a mark on your pipboy most of the time.
  2. I remember reading in a preview that the interior this time aren't mazes.
  3. A couple of those are actually already toggable through the .ini files (compass and quest marker if I remember correctly) not to mention the ****load of mods.. problem is, only few quests give you directions in Fallout 3 so I ended up returning to the normal interface.
  4. And that's what I think is cool - people who want it can have it, people who don't don't. Cool stuff. Yup. The option factor is great. Option toggles are the way to go, imo. Don't like the HUD? Turn it off. Don't like the compass? Turn it off. Don't like location indicators on the compass? Turn them off. Don't like Fast Travel? Turn it off. Even better would be if less aids = more xp. Or something. ANyway, I think HC mode is a good idea, though I never would have thought to ask for it. The sleep/food part is the least important to me though of all the HC tweaks. Nah, even better would be if they designed the game with this in mind from the beginning, meaning that even without a compass you still could find quest locations and NPCs simply going by directions and hints, etc. As Gromnir says less aids = more xp is a broken mechanic that undermines the challenge.
  5. I think I'll wait rolling my statistics before choosing my equipment.
  6. Uh? It's not like with Dragon Age they showed more gameplay, or with Mass Effect 2. Plenty of videos show gameplay too, so I'm not sure I understand the complaint.
  7. A couple of possible choices probably, though it's been edited so much that I actually doubt it spoils anything at all. I personally feel that the PR material that Sega has been publishing this week is so disjointed that it doesn't really spoiler much. There were a couple of similar trailers for Dragon Age and I didn't even notice until after I completed the quest and got that outcome.
  8. That's pretty sweet. I'm wondering if the addiction of food requirements would enhance the survivalist feeling of Pacman though.
  9. Since when is a 93% not so good?
  10. Part of it has probably to do with the fact that it was holiday period, but The Hut is consistently slower with its deliveries according to other people I know that ordered from there. By slower I don't mean a whole lot, mind you, it's just that the italian mail is slow too (for some reason they've been pretty efficient with Awakening though), so I ended up waiting something like three weeks to play Dragon Age Origins. I didn't particularly mind, considering I was busy playing Risen anyway.
  11. The Hut has good prices but it's usually very slow at mailing items.. mix that with the incredibly slow italian mail and I use it only for incredibly low price offers or games I can wait a bit longer to play (may it be because I have no time or because the game interests me but not that much). My first (and until now last) experience with Play.com has been Awakening. Pretty good price and pretty quick too. I'm quite happy and I'll probably use the site for Alpha Protocol too.
  12. You guys are cute and creepy at the same time.
  13. The western setting actually appeals me a lot, but I guess I'll either see if my brother buys it or wait for a PC version. I don't like the idea of buying a game for a console I don't own (I technically can play the game on my brother's Xbox360, but it would be in an extremely limited fashion and not at my own pace at all). Is the gameplay very similar to Grand Theft Auto though? I always found myself bored after 3 minutes with those games, for some reason.
  14. Eating/sleeping are in STALKER: Call of Pripyat and honestly it never feels annoying. It's just something you have to strategically plan for by carrying a small amount of food and returning to base occasionally. CoP also uses ammo weight, so inventory management is more involved overall. Now that I think about it, since you've added Hardcore Mode, has your team distributed food in the game differently than in Fallout 3? Because there was plenty of food (pre-war even!) in almost every location in Fallout 3, so even mods that added the food/water didn't make the gameplay much hard, if they made it harder at all.
  15. Well, I got used to it in my Ultima Online days, but I personally didn't find it annoying in FWE, not at all. It actually added to the gameplay, in some sort of way.
  16. I was tempted to agree to his offer ....
  17. I really really hope it's not another spin-off. Alternatively if it's a new spin-off/sequel I hope it isn't Obsidian. And Chrono Trigger had a perfectly fine ending (I didn't play Chrono Cross, and maybe it was an awesome game but what I've read on the plot bordered on the nonsensical), why ruin it with a sequel?
  18. Also, lol at Mina when you're approaching the guard at the russian embassy 'please tell me you have a plan..'. Turns out I did.
  19. Wow. That's a surprisingly good marketing ploy.
  20. No problem, I just like to clarify things . EDIT : It's also interesting to note that Obsidian wanted to add a multiplayer mode but had to cut the feature early on according to an Avellone's interview. So, if there is a sequel, these complaints may actually be addressed.
  21. No MP option really took away from the success of both those games too Never implied it did. Because, the surprising thing is, most complainers actually both the games. Looks also like Alpha Protocol will end up in the mid-to-high eighties on Alpha Protocol going by these early reviews. Not bad imho.
  22. Shouldn't that be Science? About 30-40 Science? Maybe you could use both? Meaning using Science you know exactly what you're doing theoretically while if you use survival it's simply experience/being taught by someone else. If there's something PnP taught me is that skills don't need to be completely separate in their purpose.
  23. Actually a lot of people complain about lack of multiplayer in Fallout too and I think I read some complaining about the lack of multiplayer in frickin' Mass Effect. So don't underestimate the general public, today no online mode means immediately less points from a lot of people.
  24. Twinkie edited, so I do.
