  1. I personally would wait for an official announcement. For now it appears (unless I missed some info) that the only place where Obsidian's presence was 'announced' was Nathaniel's facebook page.
  2. I mean, the problems with Dragon Age was more about the tomato being cooked for too long, the pepper being to bland, and it had too much Hitler!!!1ONE!! for most people. There you have it.
  3. ... metaphors going too far.
  4. Inside the Vault : Obsidian's Jason Fader
  5. Did Obsidian remove the 100 character limit in the engine? Bethesda dialogue: "I'm looking for my dad, middle-aged guy. Have you seen him?" Super-awesome enhanced Obsidian dialogue: "I'm looking for my father, who is a middle-aged man. Have you by any chance seen him?" A reference to the Pip boy on his wrist could have easily made that dialogue more plausible. Also, you don't really need long-winded responses to make dialogue decent.
  6. Obsidian at its worst can't come with writing as bad as Bethesda as its best. For all their flaws, Obsidian still has few rivals in that department.
  7. Roger. (Well, I, at least, threw in a 'A wizard did it' joke into the conversation. You have to give me credit for that.)
  8. Did you talk in tropes all the time? Did it become super annoying? Actually just a little. Most of it was actually 'what setup should I use' 'I'll use the medic', 'come in, come in!' 'stick with the team'. You know, the usual.
  9. Personally I'm still waiting Bioware's word on the subject, but if they cut top down view, I don't see myself buying the game until it hits bargain bin price (by that time I'll have gathered enough feedback to decide wisely anyway).
  10. It starts the 19th IIRC, so yeah, probably he just received confirmation.
  11. Just played the Alien Swarm campaign with a bunch of TV Tropers on normal. Some good fun, though I screwed up a couple of times. Had to go when we were beginning another because I was straining my eyes and I had to eat.
  12. I don't think hardcore mode is made to make the game more realistic, but rather to enhance the survivalist feeling. Granted, I perfectly understand why some people hate it, but I liked S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Fallout Wanderer's Edition so I personally am happy that they chose to introduce it.
  13. I personally was expecting it. Hopefully we'll get a new flood of info, you know, a little bit more about the story, a little bit more about gameplay, a little bit more footage. Nothing dramatic though, since there's still a long way before release.
  14. You even get an option about whether you want to use iron sights or not. You have to admire that kind of design.
  15. Exactly. It'll be interesting to see how the technology works on the consoles, and the difference between the console versions and the PC one but that's it for me. Also, Rage interests me far more as far as graphically awesome FPS goes. It looks to have a really solid (if not original) style, and the gameplay from the E3 presentation looked rock solid too. Of course, it's too soon to know, and I don't really want to hype it or get hyped myself, but it peaked my interest whereas Crysis 2 didn't.
  16. I'm pretty sure that some stuff will get delayed when we'll get closer to 2011.
  17. I'm pretty sure most here don't give a damn about Crysis 2.
  18. I always loved that cover. It's so mindnumbingly stupid and out of place that you simply HAVE to love it.
  19. I heard James Hetfield jumping a shark in the background.
  20. Top down view may indeed be cut for 'performance issues' (also a lot of other infos from a GameStar preview)
  21. I wonder which Obsidian execs are available romance options. Obviously Feargus is the gay elf option.
  22. I was talking about this ad of course. Since, ya know, Bethesda is the publisher. Bethesda took out the possibility of detonating Megaton from Fallout 3 in Japan I think. Self-censoring to don't hurt the japanese sensibilities iirc.
  23. ...What the heck happened? The site looks like it has rolled back to an older design (2008? I'm guessing from the last news post), heck, it advertises the Aliens RPG!
  24. Am I the only one who thinks this is an incredibly stupid marketing strategy? It almost sounds like 'How to alienate your japanese fan 101'. I mean, first Bioware, now Bethesda and Obsidian too (I know that it probably wasn't Todd Howard or Feargus' idea, but still...)?
