  1. I don't see what's so bad in giving a gay romance option.
  2. Going to quote this too, since otherwise, it'll make me look like the one who actually thinks the environment is bad.
  3. I'd wait for actual figures on sales. this isn't a movie, where you can just read a Roger Ebert review and be done with it Sorry I should have been more clear, I'll wait for reviews because they're usually a very good indicator of how sales will go, and because quite frankly, a lot of other gamers will do and will decide whether to buy the game or not based on that. I like what we know so far about New Vegas, and assuming it's not unplayable on release, I'll get the collector's edition. Clearer now?
  4. Meh, I don't care about graphics that much. If we get screenshots what do you want to discuss though? And I did say I like those screenshots and I'm generally optimistic about the look of the game. Strangely enough, I don't remember this kind of messages with the Dragon Age 2 screenshots.
  5. Isn't The Witcher 2 only for PC though. For now, yeah, it is, but CD Projekt Red made it very clear that they want to work on a console version too.
  6. Why not? Everything about the game looks good, and its still pretty similar to an already known and successful game. The new stuff has been met reasonably favorably, and most of the cirticism is graphics related, which is what the same people said about FO3 2 years ago. SO nothing new there. This is pretty much a slamdunk for Obsidian. WHich is great. About time they were involved in a game that really blew the doors off in terms of sales. Also about time for Josh as well. Lots of hard work finally pays off. I'll wait for the reviews before singing praises for Obsidian's success though. The press has generally been less excited about New Vegas than Fallout 3 (understandable, no novelty factor) but who knows how less excited they are? I've seen people that are seriously convinced that anything less than 90 on metacritic for this game will mean that the game is a dud, and after Alpha Protocol reviewers and gamers alike are really wary about anything that comes out from Obsidian (I've seen like a hundred posts on the Bethsoft boards that were defending the game.. not because Obsidian was doing great in their opinion, but because Bethesda was helping them so it couldn't be bad.. really..), so... yeah. Christ, I surely sounded like a doomsayer, but hey, maybe between two extremes it'll help keep things in perspective. EDIT : I can't wait for you to get a look at Menze's new perk icons. They're awesome.
  7. Those rocks look also more distant from the camera, so I guessed that was it. Still, I'm optimistic about the look of the game, though I guess the previews set the bar way too high (especially since The Witcher 2 looks nicer, let's be frank about that). The environment in the third shot does look expansive though.
  8. In the end no one will remember one teaser trailer if overall the marketing campaing is well done. But getting the teaser right too doesn't harm anyone.
  9. Assuming these screenshots are indeed legit (waiting confirmation on that, but they DO match what we've been told about the look of the guardian and the archon), I like the character designs though. No enormous shoulder pads or anything here. Also the lighting is indeed pretty nice, though the texturing work doesn't seem particularly impressive (but as far as we know, it's still pre-alpha, so there's more than enough time to fix that).
  10. True, but a badly done teaser isn't exactly something that is going to generate a lot of hype.
  11. I didn't really see any problems with the level of detail, it was a tree after all. Granted, the teaser for Deus Ex was much better, no doubt about that.
  12. Except for Ken having like tons of muscles.... and incredibly thick eyebrows... and blonde hair...
  13. They're certainly showing a lot of confidence in the game by letting it be playable in so many conventions. A good sign?
  14. To be honest, I didn't know this one till I play the Witcher. They may be just trying to increase the variety but I'd like to see a solid and atmospheric world setting, considering Mask of the Betrayer. It's Georg Ziets behind this. I doubt he would just try to go for variety without some consistency.
  15. So THAT'S why those tree roots were so familiar. EDIT : So we've got a confirmed monster by the way, Vodyanoi. Are they going to pick up more from slavic mythology?
  16. Wow. That teaser was bad. EDIT : No, I mean, really, what the hell? At least show a battle, pump up the expectations a bit. Instead we get.. hum... tree roots?
  17. Warhammer 40'000 : Space Marine headed to PC
  18. To be honest, from what I've heard from people that actually have played the console version of Origins, the console combat isn't changing that much either. Really, it looks like the only dramatic change they've done is to make control response smoother and the animation quicker. Hopefully they've also fixed the enormous balance problems and the encounter design problems that Origins had... GreyWardens.com impressions of the Comic-Con demo.
  19. I must be blind. Fire Gecko? Where? It's really really blurry, but on the left screen behind Larry Liberty, I saw something black, vaguely resembling a lizard, rolling down on the ground in slow motion. I'm guessing it was a fire gecko. EDIT : Around 1:44
  20. Camera men inadvertently got us our first glimpse of what I guess was a fire gecko, so he (she?)'s better than the interviewer.
  21. The look on Larry Liberty's face when he asks about DLC and mentions Mothership Zeta is priceless.
  22. While you're perfectly entitled to question their fashion sense, they didn't look emo in the strict sense to me. But we're digressing, so to bring this derailed topic back to its pure, original purpose, here I bring you a new interview with .
