  1. As you point out, that was when people thought that he was working on Dungeon Siege III (something he confirmed he wasn't a little bit after, but the damage was done). And since Obsidian is working on this, I'd trust the PR announcement more...
  2. What? V.O. alone costs an arm and a leg, DA:O for example has three or four of the replete with muzak for the utterly unerotic sex scenes, lots of talking / flirting, art assets for gifts to buy NPC affections, and so on. All of that could have instead been deployed into a Really Big Sword or a 10 x 10 room with an orc in it. And a pie. Cheers MC The gifts weren't necessarily tied to romance, but more generally to the influence system. Honestly, I doubt that cutting the romances would give a lot of resources for something else. And honestly, there were enough rooms full of enemies in Dragon Age : Origins. I'd gladly cut the numbers if it meant having designer think about how to make various encounters fun to play.
  3. Didn't the PR announcement talk about gathering companions? Granted, I'm not sure if you'll have the possibility to control them or not, but it seems that the game won't be a single-hero type.
  4. Again, I honestly doubt a lot of resources are spent on romances. And the fact that even Obsidian, that doesn't seem to like them that much, worked them into practically all of their games, indicates that actually there is a segment of the market that indeed cares about them.
  5. Why video game designers are missing the mark with women. Hum.
  6. Steam username?
  7. It's not exactly as you really can really ignore it in DAO, Not exactly.
  8. We know nearly nothing about them for now, it's a bit premature to say that, don't you think?
  9. Vodyanoi is a Russian name for a folk monster common in Eastern Europe. So it makes sense in a polish game, where it actually appears in swaps(although it's weird that it uses Russian name, in Polish it's wodnjak or wodnik, or something similar) The thing in the screens doesn't look like a vodyanoi at all, so I wonder if they named it like that just for a cool name... Well, except that The Witcher vodyanois are a blatant Deep Ones rip-off, even going so far as worshipping Dagon... And that they don't look like vodyanois at all.
  10. So subtle in NWN2 that you had a sudden 'want to make love with me?' and then that was it. Not to mention Mask of the Betrayer pretty awkward 'flirt ONCE in the whole game and that was all the sign of her feelings you get before the grand finale where she declares herself' with Safiya. I do think that romances were done reasonably decently in Alpha Protocol though, but it's not like Obsidian is a master either.
  11. It won't hurt if they manage to get people in for the story too, though.
  12. Care to elaborate a little bit more? What do you mean by 'originally designed NCR' ? You mean the area in Fallout 2? The faction in Fallout 2? Or the idea of NCR (which already appeared in a Fallout ending, but I'm sure you know that already)? Anyway, I don't have clue for any of these answers.
  13. Well, that's the name of the screenshot, if you open it in another window.
  14. I just call it Chtulhu-chan. BTW, why does suddenly everyone know what a Vodyanoi is? Because they've specifically mentioned the Vodyanoi as being a monster present in the game in an interview and we have google to check what a Vodyanoi is I guess.
  15. I guess the artists stroke the right tone with that one.
  16. The game actually isn't fixed in isometric, you can play it over-the-shoulder. Hopefully Dungeon Siege III will be more optimized. The demo ran like ... something that runs pretty bad, at least on my rig. Also, IIRC, Divinity 2 was choke full of loading times.
  17. Nah Volourn. Not even the most moronic developer on earth would intentionally write an AI routine that makes an enemy stand right in front of you without doing ANYTHING at all. Granted, it happened once or twice in two playthroughs, but it was quite clearly a bug.
  18. Lol, I had to look that term up. I had no idea that even existed. Why on Earth would women find that interesting? Same reason guys find girl on girl hot. Ok, it's actually a little bit complicated than that, but that's the gist of it, and this isn't the right topic for it (unless Dragon Age 2 has been mysteriously turned into a japanese dating sim while I wasn't looking).
  19. 100 AMERICAN pizzas. Prepare to get obese in 48 hours, Starwars!
  20. You did. I did too (mostly experienced just minor things), but it doesn't really change that the game indeed does have a lot of bugs. P.S. : Technically, while the AI isn't top-notch, it's also bugged to hell (enemies standing without doing anything, shooting through cover, just to say a few), which yes, technically count as the game being buggy, not as AI being not that good.
  21. Patience, Daniel-san. My name isn't Daniel.
  22. Besides being a collosal waste of time a resources to accomodate 20 people that want to fap to a male dwarf, me either. You underestimate female fans, Gfted1. P.S. : I'm not sure how much a waste of resources is, considering you just have to script a sex scene and write a little bit of additional romantic dialogue.
  23. One thing that leaves me curious is that we still don't have a screenshot of those impressive vistas. Dammit!
  24. Knowing Sawyer I'm pretty sure it's their focus. Fallout : New Vegas is also a pretty big game though, so I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if it's less buggy than Fallout 3 (which is a more than enough acceptable level of bugs for me, considering that it's a vast open world game).
