More like Obsidian's previous games or more like Diablo ?
Strange, according to K0771 the demo was press-only. Still, good to know.

Mafia II
According to a reviewer there's a cool nod to the first game's ending towards the middle of the game. The embargo on reviews is lifted tomorrow at noon EST by the way.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!, just a dumping ground
We're trying to create new sorts of games that we call "OMGs" (online multiplayer games). The guy knows comedy if nothing else.

Fallout: New Vegas
Personally I find the concerns about polish legitimate, but I find dismissing the game before it's even out without any real evidence (they don't really even talk about having tried the game!) an incredibly bad practice from a 'journalist'.

Obsidian Comic-Con panel audio files
The sound quality isn't too great so I've decided to listen to it when I'm a bit more concentrated (that is, not in the morning). Thanks anyway.

Deus Ex 3
My point being that until I can try it, or someone I trust can try it, while I like what I see in the trailers I won't take buzzword-talk like 'we're making this closer to Deus Ex than Invisible Wars' at face value.

Dragon Age 2

Fallout: New Vegas
Obsidian will screw up New Vegas, GameZone tells us.

My concerns on DS3
A new challenger arises! Morgoth isn't alone anymore in jumping the gun! No, but seriously, since when employing a similar auto-targeting system = copying the exact same gameplay?

Deus Ex 3
To be fair, even if they loved IW they would probably say that just to be better received by the old fans. More like, to be unfair. When you are talking about gameplay concepts, lying just to please old fans would be... idiotic. While Deus Ex almost definitely has a special place in many old gamers' hearts, just kissing up to that crowd would be silly. Especially since it's now been, what, 10 years since DX came out, and it's a PC/PS3/X360 release... Except that then they go back to IW's character development system instead of the original, for once.

You aren't? I thought you were bribed to post here just as everyone else!

Fallout: New Vegas
If I recall correctly, there were a couple of Fallout 3 mods that made your jumping heights, running speed etc. dependent on your agility. There wasn't much that made perception useful though, and usually those who made per useful went too far into making the stat important (like putting a cap on ranged skills based on your perception, meaning that the cap would 90 if you had 9 in per, etc.). Hopefully Obsidz found a better solution.

Fallout: New Vegas
Well, we knew about most of those things, but yeah, as long as there are drawbacks for having 10 int, it's good for me.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!, just a dumping ground
Which means that I don't feel bad if I ragequit the game and set it aside for something else!

Ehrm.. you've probably inverted the text that should have appeared in your message and the url. And you corrected that too.

Fallout: New Vegas
Wow, you payed a lot of attention did you? You got one every level. They weren't particularly meaningful, more like just little bonuses.

Fallout: New Vegas
If you pick the PC version, Josh has confirmed that the rate at which you get perks is a setting in the GECK. You could easily make a little mod to change it and play it with the old Fallout style. If the perks aren't paritcularly powerful it doesn't matter if you get them every level. IN FO3 for example, while the perks weren't completely useless, they weren't particularly game-changing, even the high-level ones. It's more of a cumulative effect. I would prefer individually powerful, game-changing perks given infequently, but in the end both systems balance out the same. Well yeah, but I was just trying to give a solution to sorophx (AFAIK Broken Steel's perks were pretty broken though).

Fallout: New Vegas
Well, we'll have a new dialogue editor. Hopefully that will make me interested enough into modding the game this time.

Dragon Age 2
A large portion of Planescape : Torment quests were of the fed-ex type but were masterfully done. I generally prefer to not have them, or have them just at the beginning anyway, they are incredibly difficult to 'get right' and usually add little to the gameplay in terms of entertainment.

Fallout: New Vegas
Both the previews were honestly pretty bad.
