Fallout: New Vegas
Never thought I'd see an achievement called in a game. Ever. Yeah, I noticed that just now. EDIT : And I don't really care if what I linked wasn't what the achievement actually references.

Portal invades college curriculum
I'm not going to play the game again just to offer more in-depth criticism. Now go all 'I'm victorious! His criticism was invalid! MY DEAR PORTAL IS SAVED!' and let's end it here, ok?

Portal invades college curriculum
Honestly, I've already backed up my point with an example (the rocket launchers I'm referring too are the one that appear by the endgame, see the one that you have to use to hurt GlaDoS), and I pretty much felt like that for almost any addition to the gameplay. They were rarely mixed up and used cleverly. If you don't feel like that good for you, but I don't really feel like I have to expand more on that.

We'll have to agree to disagree and end it here, I guess.

Real answer is : I still think my points were fair, even if my expectations may have been too high. Even good things should be criticized, that has always been my philosphy. I regularly criticize game I enjoyed far more than Portal, I don't see why I should keep my mouth shout about it.

I actually think I'll continue Purk. Just to see the fanboys rage.

*shrugs* I picked it up when it was free, it's not like I wasted money.

Portal invades college curriculum
I expected a masterpiece. I got a gimmicky game. Not bad, but the hype was so over-the-top I can't really understand it.

Portal invades college curriculum
That's exactly the problem. I don't like gimmicky games. So your problem with it was personal, not because it was actually underdeveloped. It was gimmicky exactly because its gameplay elements weren't really developed. I could care less about more voice acting, the memes were already old when I played the game.

Which is good, but still doesn't take away the fact that it feels underdeveloped. Not every game has the budget of a AAA game and yet they delivered a classic with limited resources. Perfect way to make a game if you ask me, maybe you have become accustomed to the glitz of the big developers. ...Ok, I understand. You still haven't read it. And I honestly could care less about the budget. I don't make differences about the level design between AAA releases and indies. I'm not sure why I should for Portal. EDIT : Just to clarify I enjoyed Portal. Of course, anything less than gushing about it is perceived as unforgivable criticism, so I'm sure adding this won't change your minds but still..

I guess you haven't read what I wrote. Fair enough.

How so? I'm going to use an example : the rocket launcher turret thingies. There were like.. two in the whole game? There could have been potentially tons of puzzle using them (of course, making the game too long would have been a mistake too, but Portal could have easily lasted at least one hour or two more without hurting the game IMHO).

Fallout: New Vegas
Never loved them (though they were better than F3's system) and I'm not sure what I think about this system. Time will tell I guess?

One preview actually mentioned three stances, so it's a possibility, yeah.

Fallout: New Vegas
I'm honestly not sure what is the design reason for this. Then again, it's easily fixable in the GECK.

Portal invades college curriculum
It would have been better if they spent some more time getting the gameplay right. You are going to rip on a game whose everything has been deified to dead by every living critic on the world. Good luck with that! And I should care.. because? Seriously, Portal was a cool quirky game, but it had an incredibly rushed pace and didn't really feel developed at all. It was ...gimmicky. Portal 2 looks like it's fixing that flaw.

Fallout: New Vegas
Snapshots from the Something Awful forums. From the guy who tried this out : Interesting enough enemies now switch weapons and sorta take cover so its more animated then before where most raiders aimlessly charged at you from out of the blue. Also because I made my guy start unarmed he began the game with boxing gloves as a weapon.
