Seems like the world's most naive project or the greatest con.

Huh, I thought the "devil" and the "beast" were one in the same. If the devil has yet to be thrown into the lake of burning sulfur (because Revelations hasnt happened yet) then who/what is the "beast". Also, who is the "false prophet"? The false prophet is the Antichrist and I can't believe you haven't heard of the beast! 666, Iron Maiden, ring a bell? Anyway, the Beast has many interpretations many link it to different religious organizations, such as the Roman church and the papacy. Oh and you aren't wrong the devil is the beast (dragon) is just that the bible has metaphorical beasts by the thousands.

Actually most mystics would vehemently forbid it, since mind altering substances turn you away form the true path to enlightenment. Or so i'm told. But this is going from a theological discussion to a hippiefest, let's go back to the Devil. Drawing comparison from other cultures, it seems that the "tempting of Christ" and the whole antagonistic relationship is parallel to Buddha conquering Mara and reaching enlightenment. Except that this was 6 centuries BC, nonetheless temptation and sin (and the Devil who embodies them) are associated with physical needs. Buddhism prominently is an attempt to gain control of the "self" in order to reach nirvana. Which means that the biggest obstacles are of physical nature. Another parallel here; the gnostic text feature the same message, of Christ being the son of man and the true Messiah being trapped inside the body of flesh. During Christ's times Satan hadn't been elevated to the position of King of Hell and could well be just an embodiment of the Temptations that Christ had to face. It was later through the popularization of Christianity that Satan went from temptation to King of Hell (kudos to his PR department) Is through this that evil gets a face and the archetype of the DemonKing is born.

Same. My first guess was pornstar-- really, look at that name! Well, I do remember some stories about the fact that.. uhm.. he was well-endowed... but no, that wasn't his profession. He was a damn' good artist, and that's coming from someone who's never been a fan of Type O Negative. R.I.P. Pete, the musical scene will miss you very much. I'm pretty sure he actually posed for Playgirl. And all the goth girls swooned. The thing that really separated Type O Negative from all the other doom n' gloom black metal bands out there was the sly wit and black humor of their lyrics. Listen to "Everyone I Love Is Dead" or "Unsuccessfully Coping with the Natural Beauty of Infidelity" for examples. If it weren't for that, I'd probably never have given them the time of day, as I'm not a huge fan of the genre. Oh, and their cover of "Cinnamon Girl" was pretty righteous. This. His sense of humor is what made Type o' Negative is special, considering the genre that they played. True, his was the only 90's goth that didn't suck.

May he rest in pieces.

I don't wish to be rude, but that's balls. I had a friend at university who thought he saw God, then the next day he saw Jesus and Jesus told him to straighten out his life. In both cases the subject had drunk upwards of eight strong lagers and smoked three 'buckets' of marijuana. that's not a religious experience, it's a drug induced experience. You said it yourself, it nor religious is drug induced. BTW, Jesus gave your friend some good advice.

Saw Armored. . . and I regret it. Like the great Roger Ebert would say:" I wouldn't eat this movie if it was a sandwich"

Most interesting case. I would theorize that they might have been some damage to her long term memory whose functions were replaced by the short term memory. In any way an encephalogram should reveal more.

And you have gone completely off point.

"Shouldn't" as in future tense. Really, you gotta stop that misquoting thing. Just because they use the same media doesn't mean that they are the same industry. There is a great amount of degrees of separation between the porn industry and the movie industry. There is an even greater amount of separation (the Pacific ocean) between games and game porn. I would find it unreasonable to judge the whole of movies to be bad due to porn; which is exactly what media outlets do to games in the name of sensationalism. That division between games and pornographic games should be made clearer.

The mystical experience can't be denied nor confirmed, only known personally.

Infinity Ward founders canned by Activision

But ACT were pushing an unreasonable date, not only they would have to scratch a lot of ideas that might have gone into the game but also release a buggy game, hence the multiplayer. -
Slight misunderstanding due to my wording. I mean to say not that they are not movies but that they are not serious films worthy of consideration, most people make that distinction. I never said that Rapelay wasn't a game, it's a pornographic game. What I ask that division between pornography and serious games that exist in the film industry. I also noticed that your post didn't actually addressed the point and is full of fallacies.
-
Really!? When was the last time a porn movie or porn actor won an Oscar? The XXX category was even left entirely to pornography just to make a distinction between serious films and smut. Maybe there are filmmakers that like to blur that line, but amongst that community saying that a porn is a serious film genre will earn you some looks. Is it really too much to ask that the same is done for video games?
-
I'm outraged because bull like this shouldn't be called a game. Most people make a distinction between pornographic material and movies; Is it so hard for CNN to do the same?

But they aren't the guys at troika. Plus is hard to work when you aren't allowed in the premises and is actually ACT responsibility to fix them. Okay I guess this just something that will come up on the trial, but I doubt that they would even mention it unless they can bring it up in court. Well we will have to see that on court. -

For such a short deadline they did a pretty good job. There are many things that go into making a game and one of the biggest reason as to why a game fails is because of the publisher wanting a unreasonable release date. Also the reviews and public opinion mostly complain about the multiplayer, which is usually a never-ending fight to improve. Agreed, but according to the MOU the rights to every CoD title set on the modern era belongs to IW. The problem is that this rubs ACT the wrong way because their strategy is, "do a bunch of spin offs and cash in" They basically strip mine a video game's success. I doubt that an MOU wasn't agreed since it's unlikely that West and Zamp stopped the aforementioned whining on '07 without a reason. It's on the name "Memorandum of understanding" without reaching an understanding and putting down in a contract, MW2 production wouldn't had begun. BTW, good luck on your family troubles -
During the Middle ages a series of books were made by the Catholic church on the subject of demons. Assigning demons for every sin and developing Hell's hierarchy, among them the famous Devil Codex. The Bible itself doesn't acknowledge or disavow the existence of demons (although alludes to their presence) But from every religion comes a mystical or fundamental variation of it that seeks to explain all the holes within the Bible. Just remember that the Bible is a series of books that became canon in order to have an unified Christian church; for more info see the Nicaean council. A lot of these fundamentalist/mystic books were left out because they were considered either blasphemous or irrelevant to the general public. Yet these mystical traditions are still recognized and have influenced modern religion.

I also believe that but there are families and then there are families

You are the second person I know of that has that same problem. Hulrshot's advice is what I said to the first one: bear with it for a while longer, avoid them and conflict as much as possible. Basically just drag it all until you leave.

Infinity Ward founders canned by Activision

Maybe, but the accusations had relevance then. Now they are just being used by Activision to keep the whole shebang for themselves. Sorry but it doesn't quite works that way. To keep in with your analogy is like: Real estate agent (Activision) and people who do all the interior design (IW) for the sold houses. Now people like the agent's houses because they are good property on good condition, and because of that success he starts selling mansions. Should the interior design people continue to work for the same wage as before? What's wrong with them trying to renegotiate or get out of an arrangement that doesn't work for them anymore? Like I said before, they are the creators of the series. Usually royalties are paid to the creators of anything. Yes, when looked at it from a monetary perspective this is a case of the cheap avoiding the greedy. But let's be realist; West and Zamp have no need to come back and fix a game that is making money for the people that are trying to kick them out of everything they worked for. Plus the rest of IW is still with Activision, if the game is buggy the fault and fix lies now with Activision. On an slightly related note; there is still the presence of the MOU that has been violated by Activision. This is where all of West and Zamp dues are stated. -

I don't know about the threats, but the e-mails seem inconclusive and could easily be misconstrued as something else. IIRC there isn't anything explicit on those transcript that could; beyond reasonable doubt incriminate West and Zamp. Or in 07 right after the release and success of MW which puts them in a good bargaining position. Activsion at the time was pushing for the sequel which was delivered before the dateline that Activision set, for which they were promised bonuses that remain unpaid to the whole of IW. They created a really successful series; is it wrong of them to want to capitalize on their success? The game hit gold and a sequel would more than likely amount to a high number of sales. The case is because of wrongful termination in order to avoid paying dues, or simply put West and Zamp got cut out of the deal which they made. IIRC they hold the IP for the creation of the CoD series, which means that they earn for every title release with that name even if it is WaW. Is not that Activision doesn't want them to have all that money, is just that they don't want them to use that money and fame(of sorts) to decide to split taking away their most successful product. -
I'm going to play the fundamentalist here and pick apart every word from your post. The Catholic church went out of the way to develop both the fields of angelology and demonology, to say that they think that they are symbols would contradict themselves. Maybe this was merely just one person's opinion, unless is declared by the hierarchy of the Church is not declared to be so. Also, the New Testament features more demons that the Old; Jesus goes everywhere exorcising demons and healing cripples. There is also a references to the Key of Solomon in the New Testament which was a mystical know who of the demon world. It just seems weird that every religion which has advocated the existence of demons would assume a relatively new perspective; specially Catholicism which tied to the old ways than most Christian religions.

Infinity Ward founders canned by Activision
Orogun01 replied to GreasyDogMeat's topic in Computer and Console
They made the best product of the company and decided to act a diva to squeeze Actvision. There is still a contractual obligation to pay dues, the IP rights of MW and the time to work on a new IP. I do not have knowledge of the actual contract between Acti and IW, so I can't say for sure whether they did or did not breach their contract by negotiating with another publisher. Which I still need more conclusive proof other than a few office emails that actually say nothing. I though that they were amidst the renegotiation of their contract when they contacted another employer. They were promised a chance to work a new IP which was not given, they weren't fired because of calling their bosses idiots and did; in fact, went on to work on MW2. What IW did was wrong and rightful terms for termination, but Activision waited until completion of MW2 to terminate them. Now Activision wants to throw them out, after they made them a boatload of money. Not only it brings down their arguments but makes Activsion look opportunistic and greedy; which i'm sure that they are not -

So it was not to early to start negotiations with another publisher for when their term ends, or to secure the rights to MW (which seems to be a favorite of both Activsion and West/Zamp). While is true that West and Zamp are matching their word against Activision's, I am inclined to believe them since they were kicked off from the company and escorted out of the building. Those things usually go with an investigation, otherwise they would had given them a notice in advance. Which is legal talk for: "they were planning to leave us" The more I go over this I feel like this is a divorce and custody battle over MW's rights.
