  1. Couldn't you had said that before I went and bought a cow?
  2. the only difference between action-rpg and plain rpg is the number of mouse clicks. if in traditional rpgs you click your mouse once to make your character kill something, in action-rpgs you click once for each action, hence the prefix. everything else is the same. today the "action" part is there to sell the game better. I like both and don't care whether it's ARPG or RPG, because you still can't jump in any of 'em What about console RPGs what do you click there? I though that the difference was the focus on real time action rather than strategy. I actually prefer ARPGs, but DA I know to be a CRPG and I like the game's core mechanics. Now it's just turning into another ME game which is a disappointment since DA's story are much better and more worthier of focus than a change in mechanics.
  3. It would be a damn shame if you couldn't own a Canadian. Dibs on Bioware
  4. There's very little consensus on what specifically is a "CRPG" or an Action RPG. Personally I consider games like Morrowind, Mass Effect, and Oblivion RPGs. They are RPGs; Action RPGs
  5. Those are action/RPG not CRPGs.
  6. Can you remember which show or what the general subject was about?
  7. There isn't such thing as non-physical, if you are referring to something that can't be measured it would make more sense. Not a religious issue and consciousness not necessarily resides on the brain. If consciousness is just a series of synapses between neurons then the information that they produce is just energy and consciousness is made up of it. Both point 2 and 3 are not mutually exclusive, since if point 2 is true still doesn't explain how is the brain able to form concise ideas out of synapses. If we look at the brain as a computer and synapses being the binary code, still a code is necessary. Which is not a form of energy. Although we could go the gnostic highway and tell that is an in between the physical realm and the other one.
  8. Of course I can say that "you aren't a real gamer cuz you like farmville" these are the lowest kinds of games that set no level, a gamer may be amused by it but not made. That's like saying that you are "cinemaphile" because you watched "Baywatch:the movie" I think that the medium of these kinds of games (the internet) is really what drives them and not their quality. It's very comfortable to have a readily available game for when itch hits you, just to go to one site and have that game you want at your hands immediately. That's why a lot of the market has moved and this isn't necessarily the end of hard copies, specially since they give you a sense of ownership.
  9. There was a plot twist? Other than , which didn't really surprise me, I don't recall any.
  10. You are forgetting that the American music market is a smug little bitch that won't bother with the same thing twice. Even if they have one hit on the States there is absolutely no chance for a follow up, basically because the America demands constant attention from an artist. Although they could market them as the Korean Spice Girls
  11. God, I hope not. That whole pre-alpha look is not even fit for a dreamcast game.
  12. Strange though, that the Bio boards aren't ablaze as one'd expect it to be if there were even the slightest rumour about this. That said, over-the-shoulder or top-down doesn't make a difference to me, I'm more concerned whether the fighting is against the same level-scaled mobs over and over again. That's probably because the BioBoards are full of the post-ME biofans. CRPGs simply require isometric view, how am i gonna see Leliana surrounded by Darkspawn otherwise?
  13. I see myself in the future; not buying DA2
  14. Yet that song is now only ever played in English. Go figure. And is only played on English speaking countries?
  15. It's probably a lost in translation, the song was never meant for English. IMO the original version would have a better shot, just think back to Nena.
  16. PC gaming's biggest drawback; IMO, is (aside from Greylord's reasons) that developers have lost interest in PC exclusives. PC gaming was always a bit of a closed community, with it's biggest titles moving to consoles and online multiplayer no longer being just for PC it's not a big wonder that gamers started choosing console and publisher following the market.
  17. Is more like having two different sets of brains, one conscious and the other unconscious which deals with everything from involuntary movement to subconscious processes. While you are conscious the cognitive brain is dominant and focused on a small amount of processes, during R.E.M the brain still processes information some of it dreams. The concept behind Inception is more akin to lucid dreaming than to the matrix. Quite frankly there isn't much science to this movie, specially when the human brain is like the great big ocean: we know very little of it. Inconsistencies between science and movies is very common, just take a look at the science behind Star Wars or Star Trek. Ok in contrast with my previous statement i'm going to try and give a scientific explanation; the real reason is probably to make it cool and perpetuate the weirdness behind the whole setting. Is probable that the technology that brings the cognitive brain to the subconscious level as a side effect also takes all the information on one level as real sensations. Since is a shared dream it must have input from all participants and in this case there still was someone on the previous level having sensations. Don't know what to say about the time inconsistencies though.
  18. Saw "Unthinkable" today, pretty graphic. There are no good guys by the end of this movie, the cinematography is commendable, is one of those "quasi-Satrian" existential films but with a more current theme.
  19. Probably because it doesn't get processed by the cognitive brain immediately, just like having a long dream with sequences that go missing when you try to recall them.
  20. Seems like most of the comments where spot on.
  21. Once they put it like that it is kind of confusing.
  22. Oh Alfie, he really should have used a condom.
  23. No, i'm 21 and it still sucks.
