  1. I completely agree. Like the second Riddick film, really. Vin Diesel has some interesting ideas but they struggle in the execution of the movies. Strangely enough they transfer pretty well into the games, Babylon A.D. could had been an interesting FPS.
  2. a-hem anyway, the scoped dart gun is silent, and you don't even need that most of the time, it's very easy to crouch behind enemies and take them out one by one with your bare hands No, the energy cells are spent after you do. Max of 4 cells with energy regen maxed it will still take you about 30 secs after you are completely spent, any enemy at that point that it's still alive can see the corpses and set the alarm. Plus guards are hardly ever alone. Trust me, you can't kill everyone and get the bonuses.
  3. You can't, non lethal weapons are 1 shot only and before you get the silencers it's impossible. With the silencers it's close to impossible. I wouldn't recommend trying to take everyone out since it's next to impossible to do without being seen.
  4. The "Ghost" and "Smooth Operator" bonuses
  5. Gunning him down will alert everyone in the area making one kill turn into a firefight that yields potentially the same. Point it's that on a stealth approach you handle fewer enemies. They fixed that on HR, though.
  6. Seconded. Although Jehova's Witnesses are a close second. No birthdays, WTF?!? I know that this it's supposed to be a funny things thread and everything but this post it's just reminding me of my grandmother refusing a transfusion because she is a Jehova's Witness.
  7. Or the lack could be due to the fact that MMO's are bigger on the Asian market and that free to play models haven't really caught up with publishers over here. On the publisher's side its always about money, I doubt that they will put their faith on something without a sure return.
  8. i may be wrongly assuming this was directed at me but if you can't take a joke in a joke thread for what it is worth (which is a joke...) then you probably don't belong in this thread to begin with This, children, it's an ironic post.
  9. But then how i'm I going to find out who? :whisper: can you discreetly point your finger at him? :whisper:
  10. You should stop picking girls behind the Home Depot.
  11. Hardcore creationist believe in dinosaurs.
  12. Memory limitations, making a whole environment both highly detailed and reactive takes up a lot of space.
  13. I will say to you what one of my teachers told to me when he found out that my major was Game Art: "You know that video games are a waste of time, right? If you would put the 100 hours of gaming on a single painting what do you think you would get?" Most forms of recreation don't take a portion of your life quite like games do, past a certain point entertainment becomes addiction and games are not a productive endeavor at all.
  14. Probly died from playing DA2
  15. So shouldn't recreational users stop so that there won't be a stigma related to these drugs. IIRC, MDMA was a legal drug until those damn hippies started tripping on it. Also, we could simply do by researching the effects of these drugs to develop medicines derived from said substances. I don't see how legalizing public use it's paramount to the advancement of the human race. So, i'll tell you what I tell every pothead "be honest, you just like smoking weed. You could care less about the benefits"
  16. So if I understand correctly if they win they become disgustingly rich and if they lose we cushion their fall. I will begin to entertain suggestions about what to do with them, starting with disembowelment.
  17. So while we are on the topic; why is it that every tripper wants to justify their recreational use by mentioning every good that the drug does?
  18. He was defending his companion, Sean Bean is a man of honor
  19. I would put that blame on the political field, aside from these lobbyist and senators having investment on these corporations there is also the presidential campaign. I may be blowing things out of proportion here but a Deus Ex-like future may not be that far off, were corporations are explicitly the ultimate power. Specially after the series of mergers.
  20. you can skip the boring parts I've been watching a let's play of the original Deus Ex, because I never liked the game, but now it seems like a good idea to get the feel of it without actually having to torture myself. Playing Deus Ex it's not torture, heathen
  21. I guess I see it as more a matter of a time difference. It's not that the reward system is different, it's just extended and extended so not as instantly gratifying in MMO's. Diablo's still have all kinds of grinding if you wanted those certain specific unique or set items that rarely dropped, and/or only dropped from certain monsters...ala "Baal runs." Or try hunting for a legit zod rune to make certain runeword items. Good luck with that - I played D2 for 4 years and never had one drop. Maybe that last recent patch upped the odds a bit finally. Actually that was my point when I was saying that they "held off rewards" but i could not get it across apparently. While we are on the subject, there is also the matter of peer pressure. Even if not intended, by having 2 completely different levels you are effectively cut off from that person.
  22. Ok, Diablo is a rogue/dungeon crawler and I did mention that MMOs held up rewards; or the reward-difficulty ratio it's off. Diablo does random drops, there it's a motivation that's more rational than grinding for 20 hours straights to farm that dungeon with the though monsters, and get that item with the low drop rate. The one negative thing that everyone says about games it's that they are a waste of time and that's how I feel about most MMOs, after a certain point they are designed to waste your time.
