  1. A well written argument, but you seem to omit the fact that racial differences are...well, different from religious. Push came to shove many times in the US history were blacks fought in every war and still faced discrimination. Whilst in times of peril they were brothers at arms (to an extent) they still had to face racism when they came back home. The situation with Elizabeth involved a single ethnic group with religious differences. So even if they fight together its no guarantee of a well adjusted multicultural society, although I should point that attitudes have changed and there is more tolerance of differences nowadays. Even if there is enough racism to counter it.
  2. Why is it that when a game tackles a serious theme it comes out so crappy? That narration sounded like a "corporate corruptions for kids" trailer.
  3. Except for the Jesuit ninja assassins She ruled unopposed because through legislation she crushed her opposition and eliminated the reach of the Catholic church on England. Not what I would consider the best example of working multiculturalism; are you trying to get Mexicans killed, ese?
  4. Kate Beckinsale would make an awesome anything.
  5. And it actually stopped when it was caught, sort of like a cartoonish moment. Seems a bit to convenient to be real but funny anyways.
  6. Great, now Mass Effect has started to attract the pokemon crowd...God I hate fans
  7. I guess this is a good thread to say this: Tomorrow 12 Eastern Fabio and the Old Spice Guy are having a duel on the Oldspice youtube channel. This for those who thought that the commercial were funny and care enough about those things. Oro out.
  8. It felt more Indiana Jones movie than superhero movie. The old ones or the new one?
  9. Maybe the bomber wanted the attacks to coincide with the release of DA legacy but missed it because of unforeseen causes.
  10. Prediction for the future: on the next 24 hours there will a thread asking the question "Can Shepard romance Shepard?"
  11. I wasn't saying anything about why they were putting the message in place, just that they were putting the messages into most of their war games. It's their polite way of addressing the past; notice also that this treatment is mostly directed towards modern war, samurai on the other hand can be as violent and bloodthirsty as they want to. Also interesting subject on the fact, The Black Dragon Society is a real life group that could be considered the equivalent of those villain fractions on Japanese games.
  12. If he is one of those guys with enough experience reading body language so that he always gives the microphone to non-threatening members of the audience, then yes that's a moderator Besides no one ask serious questions at those things. @Calax: I think you can infer from your own post why they don't want to directly address the issue, probably the same reason 39 to 44 are gone from history books in Germany. @Bendu: Sorry but old news already Journalists should really stop hanging around /v/ and /b/
  13. Yeah, I noticed that too. Most of the really stupid/repeated questions were on twitter, though... Probably because; like with most panels, the moderators tend to keep thing tame. Did they had moderators at those panels?
  14. Just like Inception. Yup, pretty much. Now I can't stop thinking about how much crazier Inception would have been if an insane Japanese guy had written it. If convoluted storylines were a hallmark of great writing then no doubt there would be many other games praised by their writing. No, the fact that with a story that complicated the game was still effective, and the characters relatable is testament to their talent. Plus if we are calling out a game for inane nonsensical crap we may as well take down the whole genre.
  15. Dude, if the worst thing about war that they can write about is your buddies dying it just show how poorly informed the writers at IW are. You want an anti-war game go play MSG, Kojima is very anti-war and it shows in every game in the series, MSG3 and 4 particularly.
  16. Its hard to care about someone in a Michael Bay film...Oh wait, we are talking about MW. Rule still applies. Seriously, half the people writing for games don't know what they are doing and the other half don't know how to write. I spent most of my time in MW trying to figure out why was attacking a oil base, or why I went to Brazil. Until I finally gave up and figured out that the devs completed the game before the story.
  17. Now? The industry has been pulling out MP on every game in the last 3 years, ever since someone said that "millenials" are more social by nature and by social they probably meant that they can't go 3 secs without texting or checking their facebook status. Let's just look at the transition of FEAR (since it's close to mind) the first 2 were FPS/Horror games with the added multiplayer. The last one was some multiplayer bull with an added FEAR storyline. Wanna know why nobody makes WRPGS that aren't MMOs? NO MULTIPLAYER
  18. No they won't because 1) It didn't sell 2) it was complete and utter crap (kind of like an ugly GOW with better storytelling)
  19. Not to sound like a party pooper or anything but... this is a load of bull**** so far into the game! now they are making ME more "minority friendly" MaleShepard is now going to get in touch with his feminine side and touch man sides and FemShep is getting a makeover for what it's (supposedly) the last game in the series. At least until they milk the **** out of the spin offs.
  20. The market has spoken, Bulletstorm was crap and reviewers were paid! :bang gavel:
  21. Ah, you're playing the PC version. No wonder you hate it.
  22. Alas but lighting bolt hasn't been the same since LARPers
