That's a very eschewed view that the writer has "Being a strategy game, clearly I would have to receive an odd number of bumps to the head to play it" What a charming ass.

You mean president Al Gore outlining an universal health care plan. Both. It's to show that we're in the different universes. There is an alternate universe where you laughed at that.

I always chalked up the success of generic shooters to consumer bubbles, the more people who buy them the more peer pressure that they will be on their friends to buy them just because of the multiplayer.

Have you tried putting a big box on their path and trapping them in between 2? Funniest **** ever.

As Kalimeeri said they probably aren't going to put much work into it and definitively not as much as they should to make consequences of previous games. I think they hit something gold with the TW2 C&Q, it was a linear but highly reactive story and it made sense. They knew how to control events while leaving the player with the choice of illusion, if they continue along that line and if they improve it, I'm going to be singing praises to TW3. My fear continues to be the great fear of alienating the audience that permeates the industry, and they are not trying to please "their" audience they are trying not to alienate the ones that may be picking up the series at a latter point. I haven't seen that from CD Project, (specially since TW2 continued the cliffhanger of TW) but its something that often seems to keep developers from going the distance with their ideas.

Best moment in the game "playing the original DX song on the megaphone on Darrow's bedroom"

This probably one of my least favorite things about the medium (specially since everyone began calling it art) It is not as reactionary as artistic movements who in turn often have a counter movement to the previous one both either moving away or towards classical sensibilities. Whilst games on the other hand are completely market driven, with economics determining whether an IP becomes are series or a bust. Specially after the economic situation when every developer seems to be playing it safe. I'm afraid that text driven games are going to become a scarcity with a unlikely chance of return. I'm crossing my fingers for a change in the market, although that doesn't guarantees a change in games.

The idea behind a reactionary story its to add immersion by letting the players resolve events in their own given manner. It then again becomes an issue of the story that players want to experience and the story that developers want to tell. At that point its were the discrepancies begin, BW bottlenecks the consequences by making sure that the story moves forward in their desired path no matter what the choices were. CD Project on the other hand made the story highly reactive while maintaining key moments, the difference being that your choices actually affect those key moments. Unlike press A to upgrade your ship and face no consequences.

Go play Witcher 2. Actually I rather hope they don't take it any further. Don't want to see Geralt redecorate the room with ejaculate. The whores on the Witcher actually went with the ambient in a just right kind of way, no more no less. Eidos went to extremes to set ambient to DX and it shows in the Detroit and Shanghai areas. But they lost me right after Shanghai, it starts to feel seriously underdeveloped and linear at that point with fewer events of note. It does show that they cut the game short.

You forgot RocknRolla and Robin Hood, also if you are a fan you may be interested to know he is VA for for that new Space Marine game.

Typical reaction when someone says that Mark Strong was in a movie, the guy is a chameleon.

I snuck in through the balcony. As did I and yet I found no pleasure in entering every room in a whorehouse where all the whores are clothed and no one is having sex. Plus the ending was really lackluster, I did chuckle at the final code though.

Berserk It's on a class of its own and as such all comparisons fall short aside from being offensive to such a great work. NOW SOMEONE PUT A GUN TO KENTARO'S HEAD AND GET HIM TO FINISH IT!!! Edit: BTW, has anyone heard from Tarna?

Psst (to everyone else) are those two mating?

For my money Fear was the best scare I've had, not the game per se but the ending. I guess that a large part of why games aren't scary its due to the fact that you are on a "play" mentality, there's a strong brick on the fourth wall called reload. Most effective scary games are due to atmosphere and/or surprise elements.

Apart from the cat waking me up about 3 hours after I went to sleep.. it hasn't seemed to be that bad the past few days. Aww damn, so you are not getting micronaps or anything cool like that

Sorry if I expected ME2 to be an improvement over ME, plus substance also causes higher awareness of error. The sidequests in ME lacked a large amount of context, which made them mostly forgettable (even the 3 companion ones) but ME2 basically recycled one major theme into each quest to (what I can guess) 1- Garner an emotional response from their teenage audience by making the characters daddy issues relatable Or 2- One or all of the team member were venting their own daddy issues onto the characters At any rate, I could had forgiven ME2 press A for awesome new direction if it actually had wowed me. But without any exploration, character customization (playing princess dress up doesn't count) differentiation between classes and with every conflict being solved by the same approach (wack a mole shootouts) Plus the lackluster ending which was a very transparent "If you choose one of these 2 characters you will succeed" which completely took out the "Suicide" from the mission (not to mention the god awful Reaper) You really expect me to compare that to ME which had a novel factor (which meant that any transgressions they may had committed would had been forgiven under the banner of innovation) actual RPG elements, a strong villain with a good story to follow (where half the dialog wasn't trying to stroke my ego with lines such as "Shepard its a living god" or every girl I meet on the first game trying to get a piece of me) ME was not a pretty girl, not the most elegant but she had a charming personality. ME2 was a needy whore that keeps trying (too hard) to stroke my ego PS: (parenthesis FTW) Edit: I swear to God that this post was much smaller in my mind, sorry.

Dear God man, we date women. I would really shirk from the thought that a woman so crazy would roam free. Although there was Ayn Ryan... Anyways I guess that its his form of speech coupled with the communist message, which promoted the image of the Patriarchal figure as a protector rather than those of women. Libertie it's a Lady.

Yeah but I am and it looks like hell. Face it's way too big for the eyes and nose, the artist couldn't pull of the 3 points perspective so it looks awkward. But most importantly... a redhead? Really?!

Please do not confuse old fans with the newly formed gaming hipsters that automatically hate anything modern and only those old games halfways, completely missing their message. The game its definitively a DX game, whether its good or not I will leave for all to judge.

Even if its LoF this is below him, what happened to the three paragraph posts that poked fun at the American Empire. Its like he is not even trying anymore
