Why has PoE2 been sold so badly?
Desmodeus replied to local.man's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Ship combat was not optional once? Oh man, that must have been so damn annoying. Ship stuff just doesn't interact with main part of game in any way.

Suggestions for CRPGs like PoE
Desmodeus replied to ArnoldRimmer's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Testers possible but I doubt narrative designers will be replaced until the time we will be able to create proper self-identifying AI. As narrative is very thin barely computable thing. Computer would need to have proper understanding of what narrative is or else we will have very dry by the number stories. Though looking on modern isekai anime... Maybe they are already doing it xD P.S Anyone know what happened to that foss project of "generate every music possible that was not created and put it under open source licence"? xD

Suggestions for CRPGs like PoE
Desmodeus replied to ArnoldRimmer's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yeah, but if full VO will become market requirement for RPG - Commander Delta VO would be taken better then no VO in term of sales. And it would still be cheaper then having proper payed actors AND can be reused in multiple projects without seperate payments(unless we count prices of SaaS)

Stalker link
In this case I am more interested in mechanic of one particular skill here but thanks

Suggestions for CRPGs like PoE
Desmodeus replied to ArnoldRimmer's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)It is rather old mod(I played around it in 2012 or so). Mod is called TalkyMorrowind and it require installation of separate voice engines as it does not have any of them inbuilt Here is example from youtube

Gods' punishment is real
Desmodeus replied to Silvaren's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)What boon your character had in PoE1? Hylia? THen it look like a bug. If Berath's then well, you did double cross her since she get you to sun in shadow assuming you will choose her.

Suggestions for CRPGs like PoE
Desmodeus replied to ArnoldRimmer's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I think soon this problem will be fixed by development of voice engines. Already even foss one show great progress in both quality of line reading and range of possible voices. I think in 10 years max many indie devs would be able to make full VO for there game just by running text though such engines and recording it. Hell I even seen it done nowdays with engines themselves in mods for morrowind.

Release for Stadia
Desmodeus replied to larris's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)PoE series is more GPU dependant then CPU or RAM. It actually eat quite little ram, but on my laptop with integrated radeon card games run like a slog despite decent gpu memory and 8GB ram

Stalker link
I am a bit more interesting about controlling part of spells. So for example if I send my bird to peck on boss I have better chances of for example paralyzing them with fetid spell or something. My Spellblade Aloth ended up more as a damaging rogue then a controller like I used him in PoE1. He cast a bit, but mainly just spam arterial strike+confounding blast with dual blunderbusses xD I have Red hand but no resources to get double tap for it. Pity...

Stalker link
Ok, one more try on deadfire. Got Maia and made her geomancer. So now I have a question - ranger still has stalker link ability that gives you and pet bonus ACC when attacking the same target. In PoE1 it was easy to understand - weapon attacks and wounding shot get ACC bonus for character, and animal attack and takedown get ACC bonus. But what about multiclasses? Does it work only for attacks and ranger attacks? Does it work for targeted damage spells? Does it work for targeted control spell? Or does it work with any spell including stuff like expose weakness?

Suggestions for CRPGs like PoE
Desmodeus replied to ArnoldRimmer's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I still love good old Neverwinter Nights 2 despite all its flaws like it being buggy as hell. PrC system there is really robust and to this day its fun to mess around in community made character builder module and run them though arena. MotB addon is really well written even though it is a bit too much Planescape: Torment in some places. Storm of Zehir is kinda like deadfire overworld game in low level setting(I thin without extensive grinding just by finishing miningful content you will hit lvl 13 on non level penalty race with non penilised class combo. Its a pain in ass to learn system though, partially because of bugs (like skills not working as written) or even hidden "goodies" (warlock use only half of its class level to overcome spell resistance however eldritch blast 10+ ignore spell immunity despite being spell xD)

Novice suffering
Just some info about the guy with 3 int chanter. He stuck in white march 2 at first eyeless fight. On a side note I actually ended up rolling my own version of NS chanter just to compare. Also dwarf though I ended up having "strange" stats: 20-8-17-9-16-8. 8 RES is so with +2 bonus on armor I'll be able to even it out eventually. Finished act 1 for now and put in in the backlog. Quite good results even though squishy

Am I doing something wrong?
Desmodeus replied to Desmodeus's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Sounds like idea. Maybe would worth a try. Though I think I'll just put game off for a bit first. Maybe a week or two to have fresh look.

6 man party with low micromanagement possible?
Well to be fair you can just replace DAoM mastery with potions + angio's gambezon. Crafting isn't exatly micro-control related annoyance

Am I doing something wrong?
Desmodeus replied to Desmodeus's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I don't think my problem with character mechanics as I quite enjoy fights. But exploration and non combat barts for some reason doesn't click... Like world is too big and empty at the same time... Strange really

6 man party with low micromanagement possible?
To be fair later on even Minor Blights can be skipped. WM1 and WM2 brough us some very nice implements. Curoc's Brand is a wand that provide combusting wounds on hit or crit and thats damn nice, Golden gaze has Expose Vulnerabilities on hit or crit. Both can be recieved relatively early and without heavy fights. Pets do receive wounds though IIRC so they still need resting or well... they become rather lousy meatshield

Am I doing something wrong?
Really don't understand whats wrong between me and this game... Despite liking first game and liking pirate stylistic for some reason game just doesn't click to me. I can't even get what's wrong with it. I met up with Woedica after queens meeting and I kinda feel lost and uninterested in anything, despite really liking characters and overall graphics. Yeah, I had somewhat similar with PoE(I think I had 10 or 20 restarts before I finished game for first time, jumping around with classes and stats though I consider its normal for class based games) but not dew to uninterest. What I find worst for me is that I can't point to exact problem that makes me feel so.

Why cant I pre buff?
What this K means?

6 man party with low micromanagement possible?
I also find implement focused wizard rather low on micro, assuming you have "pause after skill" turned on. Basically Infuse with Vital essence -> Delaterious Alacrity -> spam autoattack. Just make sure that he doesn't die permanently from recoil xD

Ranged witch and spellblade
Should I go for dualwielding in case of mortars and pistols? Or one handed will work better for accuracy bonus?
-
Ranged witch and spellblade
Can someone give advice how it will be better to make ranged builds of witch Serafen and spellblade Aloth for mass shooting squad? Is shooting even viable for this multiclasses?
-
Ranged Pallegina
Wait, that means it works with rods/scepters/wands as well? Ok that actually make my old character idea of implement using priest of Wael more viable.
-
Ranged Pallegina
Yeah, Vambraces are great but getting them is a feat and a half. Alphine dragon just don't screw around xD also pity that Lead Spitter is hidden behind benevolent choise. Priest of Scaen and Bleak Walker party leaders are crying. Zealous focus is indeed not that awesome, but it is still +6 ACC (essentially free weapon focus) which is good for user of inherently inaccurate weapon. Prestitigitator's Missiles works with penetrating shot? What else works with it? Like arcane blast?
-
Ranged Pallegina
Just wonder, what is the best way to build Pallegena for mass ranged party. I generally just build her for use of Silver Flash with this build: Flames of Devotion Vielo Vidorio Zealous Focus Critical Focus Sworn Enemy Wrath of Five Suns Coordinated attack Weapon focus: Ruffian Reviving Exhortation Penetrating Shot Healing Chain Gunner Abjuration Intense Flame Liberating Exhortation Marksman For equipment I get something with Overseering and Boots of Zealous aura. I wonder is there a way to optimize this type of build further. Right now I understand that I overlooked St. Graham spark but I am more interested about ability/talant optimisation

Any tips for DW Fighter?
Rechecked yesterday - you indeed can turn both on. I for some reason thought they are exclusive
