I don't know, but I just checked and Mudeater-land got it on April 8! Time to eat my words, I guess.

The game has been stuck in development hell for over a decade and you think the developers have taken the "easy route"?

White Box games? What are those? I got stuck in the realm of RPG's after experiencing the Gold Box games myself.

Woah, it would be so cool if they had those old joystick ports on this new machine! I miss playing with my Wico Redball! Absolutely indestructible joystick. Beat that, Mr Trying-To-Steal-My-Spotlight Sawyer.

Bah, amateurs. I, of the Commodore Master Race, had a Commodore 128! Much better than a puny Commodore 64. We could play like.. three games with better sound than the Commodore 64 version. So worth it!

IIRC it will be more Might and Magic II/III ish... Which I honestly would LOVE. <3 But again I'm not sure. I bought, played and enjoyed both of the Eschalon games they've released so far. They're both turn-based, but enjoyable nonetheless. Good news! Ps. All you people whining about there being too few turn based games nowadays: buy the Eschalons, you cheap bastards.

Don't you know? On these forums, noone actually bothers to play the few turn based games that are released. They are content with writing the same bitter BS over and over about how their turn based games of old have been raped by Bethesda. Throw in a little whiny crying about how they wish the latest AAA titles (which they still buy and play!) had turn based combat too and you've pretty much covered 90% of all posts on here.

GameBanshee preview and interview

Game designers must be the most boob fixated people on Earth. I applaud you all! -
I like having lots and lots of tiny quests too. It's satisfying to be able to solve half a dozen quests in bulk after being out adventuring for a while. Not every quest has to be a three hour trek with twists and turns and ten different parts for me to enjoy it. I think New Vegas had enough small quests, but was a little lacking in the meatier type of side quests. Still, I vastly prefer it to Fallout 3. One thing I wish Obsidian would learn from New Vegas is to not leave so many quests half done. There are sooo many times when I've thought "is that it?" after a quest ended too abruptly and/or with no real closure.

If you see something that's 8 foot tall, with huge claws and teeth and muscles like a gorilla.. shouldn't that be enough of a sign that you should turn around and walk away? I mean Deathclaws doesn't exactly look like fluffy puppies. Do you really need written signs to tell you that they are dangerous? And yes, I love the way Risen does it. Place an ashbeast in a bush near the road where you have to walk.. You will know when you've gone too far into dangerous territory.

Dungeon Siege III Art

The cyclops horn is so big! Where does he fit his brain? -
Yeah, it would be a little weird, especially seeing how closely related the two franchises are. But I always liked the Wasteland setting a bit more than the Fallout one. In Wasteland, the apocalypse happened in the eighties instead of in the fifties, so there was no need for an alternative history to be created. You'd just have to assume that the bombs fell during the cold war and time stopped then. But that's with modern weapons, modern technology and everything we know and use in daily life. I liked having visa cards as currency instead of bottle caps. I liked having modern weapons with an instant high recognizability factor. I liked having modern vehicles, modern brands, modern institutions. Do I have to mention that I would jizz in my pants at the mere mention of a modern technology Wasteland 2? A couple of years ago I was in email contact with Brian Fargo, and he is definitely interested in a continuation and/or remake. I am holding a thumb.

I just have to say.. I am still finding new quests and locations in Fallout: New Vegas that I did not find before. I never cared for the companions either (except ED-E) so I had not seen their quests. Now I've done the ones for Veronica and Cass.. I don't feel like I had missed anything spectacular, but it's still nice to find new things. Maybe I'll try out Arcade, Boone, Raul and that big mutant grandma too later. Did I forget anyone? I once changed brain on Rex.. is that his quest? I think I accidentally gave him a faulty brain. I had never noticed that the counterfeiter's shack had a basement before.. Again, no big deal, but a nice find. I had never fully explored the Guardian camp (and caves) before. Found the one quest there and all those notes lying around. Another nice find (and a cool new recipe for a weapon). Found and did the corpse retrieval "quest" (it has neither a formal start nor end).. I wish it had some sort of reward at least. I'm probably the last person on earth, but I found the Big Big Love quest and finished that one. I had always entered Gomorrah already involved in some other quest and never bothered to enter the courtyard before. Very easy and no twists, but still a fun find. The first time I played New Vegas I found a named teddy bear in the Boomer's place, but I never found anywhere to use it. This time I found a girl who wanted a teddy bear, but I can not remember where I found it. Grr. Still having fun with it!

Looking very good! It has a very nice weight to the combat that looks great. Thanks for the link!

I loved the original Far Cry. I had never played anything like it when it came. I mean, 2 kilometers of viewing distance, awesome graphics and open-ended missions in a first person shooter?! With realistic physics?! AND DRIVEABLE VEHICLES?!? Seriously, it was awesome when it came out. I tried replaying it recently and it has not aged that well. Far Cry 2 was very good when it was good, but it had some parts that were so bad it made the entire game almost unplayable (respawning checkpoints, stupid missions that had you drive all over the map for no apparent reason). Crysis was a tech demo. It basically took Far Cry, updated it with technology from 2020 and lost a bit of soul. Still pretty good and a great showcase for the (then) new DirectX 10. Crysis 2. Now, I have not played it.. but I read that it is now DirectX 9 with smaller levels and no graphics options, mouse smoothing, auto-aim on PC etc. Not interested. A huge step back, in my opinion. When are the new consoles coming out? This is getting ridiculous..

OK, this has absolutely nothing to do with Dead Money or any DLC, but.. For some reason I'm replaying New Vegas again, this time making an awesome energy weapons girl. I did the 50 star caps mission and got Pew pew and thought, "Wow, this little thing one shots everything in this game" and was very happy.. until I realized it takes 15 ammo per shot! I burn through batteries faster than an entire Wasteland brothel full of vibrators and hookers.

Hmm, I don't agree. I prefer the open-endedness of the outside world much more than the "dungeon crawler" type of environment used in Dead Money. The environments in Dead Money became very repetitive and it was very difficult to orientate oneself because of the sameness of every location. I am hoping that the next DLC will play out above ground and expand on the wasteland instead. Maybe a more desert-like area with little villages/gas stations/random locations scattered about? I would enjoy that much more, I think. I liked the little desert that's in New Vegas (think it was called Dry Lake something?), but it was so small! It felt like one of those sandboxes children play in instead of a vast desert. Otherwise it was neat, with the half-buried crashed aeroplane and stuff. More of that type of atmosphere, please!

I would kill for some news on more NV DLC
mkreku replied to bigcrazewolf's topic in Obsidian General
No, seriously.. when is the next DLC out? I'm getting impatient too. I have the perfect cheese character going on right now and I need more space to cheese around in. -
I was wondering about Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.. Is it out yet for PC? Did anyone play it yet? I recently bought Assassin's Creed 2 (it was on sale for 49SEK on Webhallen! I know about the crappy DRM, but that price was too good to ignore) and really enjoyed it.

Very strange. I have had the exact same thoughts recently. I don't have anything that makes me get up in the morning, except my job. And naked girls.
