Check out my new steed!! Awesome! I "acquired" it less than a minute ago. It made me so excited I just had to come here and brag about it ) Unfortunately, it's highly agressive and guarded by really mean minotaurs..
-
One thing that disturbs me though is that I begun persuading everyone to like me because I thought that by doing so, I would get more keywords, or at least new replies to the old keywords. So far that's been a disappointment because noone has ever said anything interesting/new because of their high disposition towards me. The only thing that's happened is that they've sometimes said "I don't know you well enough.." beforehand and then said the same thing everyone else has already said after some persuation.

Oh, right. I forgot to add that the mini-games (lockpicking and the one where you try to make the character you're talking to like you) are not that hard at all. In the lockpick game, just choose one of the tumblers, move the mouse upwards and look at the speed with which the tumbler moves. If it's slow to come down, do it again. If it's fast to come down, do it again, but this time, when it reaches the top, left click the mouse to secure it. Repeat until all tumblers are open. This way always works for me: if I am patient and wait for the superfast tumbler fall, the next tumbler fall is always going to be slow and easy. The persuasion mini game is also extremely easy now, but even though I know I have some kind of strategy, I don't know how to explain it. It usually only takes me less than 30 seconds to get them up from 30 (or whatever they begin with) to max. I actually do this to everyone I meet before I even click on any of the keywords. It's that easy. I've made a lot of friends in Tamriel (I know 90%+ of everyone in the Imperial City, Bruma, Skingrad and two more cities that I forgot the name of absolutely love me). Wish it was that easy in real life too.

I seem to have missed this whole Peca situation. Why is he so unhappy? Anyone care to fill me in?

I have no idea how to powerlevel. All I know is that everytime I enter a fort/cave/shrine, I come out 3-4 levels higher than I came in. I am having trouble sleeping as much as the game wants me to! Everytime I sleep I have to do it in intervals, because I have several levels accumulated. Oh, and since every enemy I face has daedric equipment, my bank account is growing faster than I can spend. What am I supposed to buy? I bought a house, but that only cost something like 15000. I still had 45000 septims left! I have no idea how much I have right now though.. I am assuming it's way more. Just keep on picking up them daedric daggers (weighs something like 10 pounds, sells for 1200 in the "A Fighting Chance" store). With my 100 in natural strength (plus a bunch of equipment induced strength), I always come home with tens of thousands of septims worth of equipment.

Ok, I am now level 23 or 24. I am wearing a full set of glass armour and wielding a Daedric longsword. The only thing that can still kill me is a black bear in the forest! Isn't that weird? I can kill ogres, daedra lords, vampire patriarchs and so on without a problem. But when I meet a black bear in the forest.. *BOOM* Anyhow, I am level 23 and I'm STILL using the heal spell that was given to me at the start. I've been going to all the temples in the cities I have visited so far (think I only have two more cities to visit) but I have yet to find a medium sized heal spell. I bought one that takes 58 magicka to cast and I think I have 64 when I am full. I am NOT using that one. I've done some really cool side quests now. One had me entering a sleeping guy's dreams. Another had me as the target in a manhunt, where a bunch of well equipped hunters wanted to hunt human prey in an underground maze! A third one had me freeing the spirit of a dead seaman.. very nice, with a stranded ship and sunken treasure and all. The side quests have improved so much since Morrowind, it's almost hard to believe. I'm definitely impressed. Maybe I'll start on the main quest soon.. I've only just figured out where the initiation shrine for the cult is (from the four books and stuff). The main quest just doesn't seem as interesting as the Tamriel world )

I thought this was kind of funny: I was walking across a bridge and happened to look down, when I saw something green floating in the water beneath the bridge. Naturally, I decided to go down and investigate, which is what the picture shows (it was night, hence it's so dark). The green thing turned out to be the corpse of a troll. When I searched the body, I found a note, which read as shown above. Isn't that cute? )

Weird. Everyone seems to make these ninja characters in Oblivion. Why? Myelf, I'm also something of a ninja. I use sneak a lot and specialize in light armour and blade combat. I joined the thieves guild too. I must admit I am having a lot of fun with Oblivion. Great game so far.

I was out riding my trusty steed when a bear attacked me. It bit the hind legs of my horse and no matter how fast I rode, the bear kept up. So I had to dismount and fight the bear, but unfortunately I accidently hit my horse over the buttocks with my sword while killing the beer and the damn creature (the horse, that is) ran into the forest and disappeared! I haven't seen him since

What is the point of having a thread full of pictures if we're not allowed to discuss each other's masterpieces? Leave the thread alone or post something constructive.

The sad thing is that when you look at the Xbox 360 line-up of games and only see trash (with a few exceptions), you have to remember that that's how the Playstation 3 will also start out. Release games almost always suck. I'm sure the Xbox 360 will have some killer titles out by the time the Playstation 3 hits the stores though.

The Leafs are being butt****ed by Montreal right now. They might as well leave Tellqvist alone out there and go to the Blue Oyster bar for a night of fun.

I usually hide my car keys before we start drinking. It sounds stupid, but it works. Apparently I become so dumb when I drink that I can hide stuff from myself

Character models are much improved since Morrowind. She's almost pretty, for crying out loud! This is about the only thing I can kill nowadays: deer. And that's only because my sneak skill is so high..

I was driving home from the army one night, after being out 12 days in a row in the woods. I was alone in the car, it was late at night and the stupid thing didn't have a stereo. The gas pedal was very sensitive so when I finally fell asleep, the weight of my foot put the "pedal to the metal" by itself. When I hit the first tree (the one that woke me up) I was going 130 km/h (it was a slow car, luckily), and let me tell you: that's not a good way to wake up. Around 30 meters further into the forest a huge pine tree stood waiting for me, and that's where the car finally stopped. Abruptly. The reason I lived was because a) I was wearing my seatbelt and b) the initial forest (closest to the road) was young, meaning the trees were very thin and were "cut off" by the speeding car. Around 20-30 trees got stuck on the nose of the car and acted kind of like a pillow for when I hit that big pine. By then, I'm guessing my speed was down to perhaps 50 km/h. It still hurt like hell. The only thing I got to show for that insane trip into the woods was a two inch wide blue bruise going over my chest exactly where my seatbelt was positioned when I hit the last tree. It disappeared within two weeks. By the way, when I examined the path made by the car through the young forest, I noticed that the first trees were cut off around one meter from the ground. So basically the car had been airborn at one time (the forest was in a slope). Neat, huh? )

Uhm.. don't get your hopes up abot animations. Me and my girlfriend laughed for like 30minutes straight after I realized my horse could jump.. like a bug. It just curls all its legs in under itself and glides through the air for like a second! It looks so horribly silly you just can't stop laughing at it. I'm in love with my Oblivion horse, almost as much as my Daggerfall equivalent )

I'm having problems in Oblivion. I'm at a point where the only thing attacking me in the wilderness are trolls, fire atronach's and really heavily armoured bandits (think tanks!) and I can't beat any of them! I must have done something horribly wrong in the earlier parts of the game. I have mithril armour (light armour), lots of magic equipment (strength ring, speed amulet, health cuirass) and what I imagine a good weapon (a katana of some kind) but even though I am journeyman or above in most (if not all) of my combat skills, I stand no chance. They hit right through my shield, breaking my equipment in no time and attack in droves. So basically I'm running for dear life, trying to avoid the now numerous Oblivion portals that have popped up everywhere. Not that much fun. I did find a couple of great sidequests, however. One was called "A Brotherhood Betrayed" or something, where I was supposed to solve a murder. It was cool. Another one had me trying to lure information about a dug-down treasure from a prisoner. I actually had to be thrown in jail for that one, which was kind of neat. A problem that's still present in Oblivion is that the rewards for everything you do never matches the amount of effort you've put in. Sometimes you find a cave of some kind and you fight your way through hordes of really tough monsters, only to find a very locked chest at the end. Anticipation builds as you try to pick the lock and when you finally do.. you find 29 gold. I'm enjoying the game a lot anyhow right now. Much better than Morrowind, but it doesn't feel like either Morrowind or Daggerfall. Odd.

Me and my friends are out riding. I got the speckled horse. Typical. We passed by some unknown city in the distance. I love the viewing distance!

I don't think I own a single game made by/published by Sega. I know so little about them!!
-
I wish horses were faster. I also wish horseriding was a skill, so you became better at it with time. I love the loading times in Oblivion: there aren't any (almost)! From time to time a small text saying something about loading stuff pops up at the bottom of the screen, but the game doesn't even stutter when that happens. MUCh better than Morrowind's stuttery mini-loading. Also, quickload/quicksave are both less than a second for me! Impressive, especially the speed of quickload. I am having fun with it so far.

Now THAT was unexpected!

Ok, I got the game yesterday. First impressions: graphics are better than I would have imagined! I run a measly Radeon 9800 Pro, but I still have maximum viewing distance and 2x AA, but only in 800x600. Even so, it looks damn good! I'm impressed that they've managed to make it run so well on my aging card. I do suffer from the ATI slowdown that everyone seems to have around the portals though. The main story is already better than the one found in Morrowind (and I am only 6-8 hours into the game), but the side-quests?! I found a fisherman that "only had to catch 12 more fish to be able to retire" and now I'm supposed to gather 12 fish thingies for him! That's MMORPG and doesn't belong in a real game. I found some Shadowsomething wine which triggered a quest. Then I found a girl in a distant tavern that's a wine collector. That seems like it could be a neat quest, but I haven't finished it yet. A paranoid elf wanted me to spy on some citizens in some town somewhere, but it took so much time to stand around doing nothing, waiting for time to pass that I abandoned it. It seemed kind of clever though. Other than that, the quests have been mostly mediocre, although closing the first gate to Oblivion was cool. I'm so impressed with the graphics of this game! I know that distant landscapes become blobs, but it doesn't bother me at all. The planes of Oblivion are very nice, but they're a bit repetitive. Freeing this town (Klutch?) was awesome, although I was getting my ass handed to me by the fire-girls (why on earth can I never remember the names of anything?!). One major problem is still left from Morrowind: I played for 4 hours before I reached 70+ in all my major skills and my main stats (Strength, Agility, Speed). If you just choose the skills you know you're bound to use (or forced to use, even) as your main skills (Blade, Block, Athletics, Armour and so on) you will level like crazy by doing nothing. If you run, you level, if you fight, you level, if you get hit by something, you level, if you heal yourself, you level. You get the point. But the outside enemies seem to scale well, as I am now experiencing some mean pigs in the wilderness instead of wolves, so it's not as bad as Morrowind.. yet. So far, so good. I'll go play some more now. Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention the physics! I love that they've tried to make physics a part of the RPG world! There are lots of these physics related traps in dungeons everywhere. You step on a pressure plate/stumble over a tripwire and these weights hanging from chains comes crashing down on you. Unfortunately, the only trap I ever got an enemy to run into (a rockslide in the plane of Oblivion) didn't quite work. The huge boulders that were supposed to crush the little target creature only pushed him in front of themselves and didn't actually hurt him. It looked very odd, like he was surfing a wave of boulders. Ragdoll works well, and when you get a magic weapon (mine is electric), it's very satisfying to actually blast your opponent's dead body a few feet off the ground.

Yeah, I saw that Ovechkin got benched for like.. 14 minutes or something. Anyone have any clue why? Is Ovechkin getting fed up with his life in Washington already? Don't tell me he's turning into another stereotype whining russian star? Let's hope he just did something stupid defensively or something. Jagr had a hattrick, but Lundqvist decided to let 5 goals past him so it didn't matter. Damn.

I miss my horse from Daggerfall It was a horsehead-sprite positioned at the bottom of the screen, and it made these insane hoof-sounds when you ran around like a racecar through the city streets. I laughed so hard at that and then I got used to it and just couldn't walk anymore I hope the horses are just as cool in Oblivion.

Why are you longing for an OS that will need 1024 MB RAM and a 256 MB GPU just to run? Not to run applications, just to run itself! Vista is such a system hog, it doesn't run applications, it IS the application.
