  1. I've been experimenting with taking shots when the sun is in the line of sight. I read on some online photo course that you can help mlighten up the shot by using the flash, even though you have plenty of light. It's worked very well so far. I've never understood why all my face shots in sunshine became so dark before. Oh, and it was very cold and windy outside and my girlfriend hates having her picture taken.. if you're wondering about her weird face. I need a happier model.
  2. And you get to accidentally swallow water diluted with retired people's sweat and kids pee!
  3. Uhm.. shouldn't it be the other way around?
  4. Since when is the right to bear arms a human right? But yes. Human rights are rights written by humans. They did not descend upon us from some infallible higher being. They've changed before, they've change again. They are relative to the times.. in a much longer perspective.
  5. Holy crap, I think I'm having more fun on the Fallout forums than I'm having here! Free flaming (without some prissy having hissy-fits because of a joke), lots of defenseless noobs, and more life than this forum has seen since they announced Neverwinter Nights 2 (which they cleverly removed from this forum..). I'm still having a blast
  6. I run two miles (three kilometers) every second day. I've never been much of a runner though. I have a much easier time adding muscle mass than improving my cardio. I've been thinking about setting up a goal though (something easy.. like the Stockholm Marathon..) so I'll start taking my running seriously. Last summer I used to run 10 kilometers at a time, but it always made my knees hurt. Maybe I need new shoes.
  7. I liked the spark on Master Chick's crotch. Other than that.. well, it was great technically (and artistically) but too cheesy for me.
  8. It's a nation discovered some five hundred years ago that still relies on that same piece of worthless paper that was written three hundred years ago. What do you expect? The world is NOT the same now as it was three hundred years ago.

Stupid Minnesota! There goes my bet. Gaborik tried at least. I thought he'd be like qui8ksilver in the play-offs: impossible to catch. He only scored 3 goals in 4 games. YES, that's only when it comes to Gaborik!!
  10. I have the same name and I got so caught up in the flaming that I accidentally attacked Role-Player too! Sorry about that, I was trying to avoid "our own", so to speak. But it's great fun though
  11. Oops. Apparently I had already registered there. In 2006. Anyhow, I'm flaming my poor little fingers off over there! GREAT FUN!
  12. Remember that just because someone writes 520W, it doesn't mean that it actually can produce that many watts peak. Also, make sure you have enough Amperes on each 12v and 5v rail. If I remember correctly, mine manages 530W on four 20A 12v rails (plus a 25A 5v rail and 24A 3.3v rail). That's guaranteed. Also, it has an almost 85% power efficiency so my Papst fan almost never has to work audibly (<20 dB). There are a lot of hidden factors in a PSU that can be pretty difficult to get a grasp on. Which is why I usually read lots and lots of reviews on tech sites before I decide on a part like this..
  13. http://uk.theinquirer.net/?article=38945 They didn't steal the textures.
  14. Only if you want to go back to spending lots more money again. For the budget builders, today seems like a better day. I hope you didn't think I was advocating the so far untested R600 like some obnoxious ATI fanboy.. I was thinking what metadigital was thinking.
  15. Pfft. My update only took 09.40 and I had to download TWO patches
  16. Volourn wants in? I guess now would be a good time to vote for if PK should be allowed or not..
  17. Actually, no. Wait until the R600 rears its ugly head. That's when it's a good time to build a new rig.
  18. It costs around 750-800 SEK. As a comparison: I paid 1200 SEK for my 600W PSU from the same factory as the bZerk.
  19. Thank you for the advice, LadyCrimson; the one sane female brain on this board. I've tried taking your advice but I'm still not doing too good. It's difficult to remember white balance, ISO, DOF, shutter time and every other little factor you can fiddle with. I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I must say that I am impressed by the camera so far. It's been very forgiving to my clumsy newbie photographer hands. A few examples (scaled down to save Feargus' server): This is somewhat cheating (since I used the macro function), but this is basically the only time I've gotten the really blurry background effect going. I don't think it only has to do with DOF and short shutter times, I also think the distance between the object in focus and the background that's supposed to be blurry has to be in certain proportions. Basically, the background has to be like ten times (estimation) further away than the object in focus. Or something. This is another picture I took where the light was really good and I could turn down the shutter speed and get a really shallow DOF. It's noticeable in both the background and the foreground as there seems to be a relatively thin band of focus going horizontally through the picture. I like that effect. Wish I could get it to work like that more often. Panasonic digital cameras has been known for their sub-standard night condition pictures (low light sensitivity). It's been said that they don't handle high ISO very well. The TZ3 is the first camera using the Venus Engine III (or one of the very first) which is supposed to be Panasonic's newest sensor/digital processor. They claim to have improved their blur reduction and ISO sensitivity. I took this picture of Uppsala by night to see if Panasonic's claim was true. I think it might be. Probably the best picture I've ever taken in my entire life (should tell you something about how horrible I am at photographing).

Go Minnesota! Earn daddy some money! Not very likely, but I really believed Minnesota (with their tight defense and Gaborik) would have a chance against Anaheim (tight defense but not so high scoring.. I thought..).
  21. Would everyone start as level 1 characters? I'm still curious about my rogue/assassin build as I haven't continued with my Neverwinter Nights 2 solo campaign. I'm still stuck in Neverwinter City..
  22. Since the PSU is a very vital and future-safe part of the configuration, I'd suggest you spend a little extra on it. I would recommend a bZerk 500W. It's extremely powerful and is sure to deliver those 500W for real. It has detachable wires so you won't have to assemble more than you need (good for the airflow in your case). It's also very silent (I have the more expensive version and the fan on it has never reached levels you can hear without putting your ear directly on the PSU) and great value for your money. It's actually pretty cheap, especially considering the quality of the build. It might be a little difficult to find in stores though.
  23. My own father has enough weapons to supply a small army. The difference does not lie in the weapons themselves or the availability, it's just that in Sweden it's difficult to pick up a dangerous (semi- or fully automatic) weapon. It's difficult to buy a weapon. You can't buy as much ammo as you want, you can't buy as many guns as you want (unless you do it over many years..) and you have to have a clean record if you ever want to get a hold of a weapons license. Abuse it and the police immediately withdraw your license and confiscate your guns. If you really want to kill a lot of people, you can still do it. But it will take you a couple of years to go through all the necessary bureaucracy to get all the equipment you'd need. Unless, of course, you get a few illegal arms from Finland. Finland is the closest neighbour to Russia.. You can even get a hold of rocket propelled grenades if you really want to. Still, it takes some kind of planning; it's almost never possible to kill someone using guns in a spur of the moment situation.
  24. Get a dog.
