My best experiences are from groups like that.

My biggest unanswered question is why am I seeing this media bliz now. Was this scheduled before they moved the release or something?
-
Let's hope you don't catch a catfish, too.

Meanwhile, I heard that my copy should be landing here on Tuesday...

Your theory is impeccable, my young apprentice, but in this case, BUFFY, come on!

Oddly enough this one's nickname is Buffy. That should really have been your first clue, amigo. I have an acute crisis when I realised that I only have one decent single malt in the house, and it's getting depleted fast. I had some 18yo Highland Park earlier this week in a pub, I'm thinking about grabbing a bottle to boost the cabinet. OTOH, I got a hot tip on Royal Lochnagar, but there's no way I'm going to be able to source that locally (or even from Finland at all...)

While I enjoy (American) football, I've been unable to justify the current cost of 250 euros for the season in my current depleted finances. Probably start watching a bit later when the price goes down or something. (Edit: oh, looks like it's down to 210.)

I don't think that rehashing me3s failings is going to make them go away, and I'm sure Bioware are aware of them to the degree they can be by now. Just remains to be seen what they do about it in the next game.

That's not true, my parents did stand their ground!

I'd rather it be compared to Skyrim or the Witcher since at least those are fantasy RPGs. Or are they? Besides, Blood Dragons were first in DAO, so in a way... Never mind.

Hadn't forgotten, but I'd question how many people would use it. The 'default' character set ups for both DA and ME (ie human male fighter/ soldier) saw far more usage than custom ones, and that process is actually integrated into the game seamlessly. The keep will get used by die hard fans and people who want to play through 7 times with different characters just to make sure they hate the game, and I think it's a good idea, but I don't see the typical player using it much to generate different 'backgrounds'. Well, obviously they think that enough people will use it for it to be worthwhile to set up a system like it. Would be a colossal waste of resources if it wound up not having an impact on the game. And, as they've said, this allows them to overcome issues like Conrad Verner's bad flags in ME2 due to being more adaptable. So, obviously, this is a major project for maintaining game-to-game continuity and, well, I can't believe they'd do it just for cosmetics.

Was it "immersion breaking" or a "slap in the face", though. It definitely sucked, I'm just objecting to the use of that other buzzword to describe it. What was Gaider's (or was it Alan's) dictionary explanation fir that term, again? :D

2 weeks is pretty bad. Any idea where the hang up is? Have you been charged for it? Was it shipped and just not delivered? Have you complained to the place where you ordered from and said "Hey! WTF dudes, where's my game?!" Haven't paid for it, I had it preordered at the local Gamestop, it being the only option here in the Boondocks. There's just two of us that ordered the spec edition, happily the other one's the manager and he's suitably spitting mad and looking at it. Not sure what the issue is, he said they were delivered late to the central warehouse and have been taking their sweet time getting here. If they cancel, I won't buy it until I can get it for less than 30 I've had miserable luck with most of my special boxes, in general, so this one's just a cherry on top. Happily I don't have a lot of time to play atm, and I'm getting a severely cut price for the wait...
-
I'm just annoyed over the lack of news about my sriv. I'm sorry, I meant "the fact my game hasn't been delivered yet IS A SLAP IN THE FACE for decent honest gamers everywhere!!!111one"

Unless part of this "Keep" thing includes redesigning your past PC's on the new engine, then no. I could see it being part of the keep. I suppose alanshu could tell us if he stumbles into this thread. The default setup is Warden = Sacrificed = Dead, yes? If so, I wouldn't really expect much if any content dealing with them, as it's likely for most people they will be dead, story wise. Might be nice if you could have a statue or painting commissioned of the Great Hero, but whether he was an international great hero or just a local Fereldan one is a bit of an open question as well. Y'all miss the memo about Dragon Age Keep? If they are willing to set up something like that, "default" should play a considerably smaller part in the future than it has.

So I'm officially now the last guy with a preorder who hasn't got it?

Pretty much the same here. Plus most people in my faculty thought being in law school made them kind of a big deal. Have very few friends from there and most of those are from the humbled post-graduate corps.

Was in the elevator earlier today with an elderly lady neighbour, who said that "men never stick it out" when I stepped off a couple of floors before she did.

I've come to the conclusion that Bruce is after every somewhat attractive lady. That just means he has a pulse.

And thus.. we know he's a a Lawyer.. Yeah, if I clung to preconceptions contrary to evidence in the contrary I'd be lawyer's client... Or an engineer :D This post made ask myself a very important question: " What job would be easier to do while drunk, engineer or lawyer?" Unfortunately, alcoholism is an endemic problem among lawyers, so I'm gonna have to assume "lawyer".

I'm on record as hating open world games in general with a passion, yet I tremendously enjoyed SR3.

Yeah, any channeling of my subconscious would sport non-Euclidean geometry. And we all know the dice THAT calls for.
