  1. ... Apparently the PC and Console versions have different level-up systems... This is new to me.
  2. Between the upcoming ultramarines and the asari, it does sure look like good times for smurf-lovers around the world.
  3. Whoever thought of this deserves a raise. A big one. From outside the industry, it looks like they've learned from their mistakes.
  4. looks like you never met real ex-USSR or ex-yugo mafia... be happy about it... i would say the chance of some of them killing you, me or any other western world inhabitant is about 100x higher than any terrorist killing you or me... Yes. 'No witnesses' is quite reason enough.
  5. Done! Azure79 Aristes I think I should not just be spared but also hand-dipped in yoghurt for having preordered the Euro PS3 collector's edition - you know, the version with still no release date?
  6. I remember reading a news item back when Munch's Scream was stolen that when armed men invaded the museum, the people inside 'were afraid that they were terrorists'. As if you're going to any deader when you're shot by a terrorist as opposed to by a, say, ex-yugoslav mercenary working on a made-to-measure robbery for organised crime. *facepalm* Terrorists are the boogeymen of the 21st century.
  7. It's not a work of art, but I think it's a damn good game. Can't put my finger on it, maybe it's the whole, but something in it really works for me. I'm guessing a lot of negative feedback is due to 'too mainstream', 'they sold out' and 'I stopped listening to Metallica when they got a recording deal, they totally started to suck then'.
  8. Wrong again. UK collector's edition has a plastic box, all other EU collector's editions come in a metal CE case.
  9. Huh, I thought you couldn't care less about DA. Anyway, here's a list what you get with CE (american version, apparantly they took something out from european version) There's something funky with the UK version, but most of the Euro versions are identical to the US version. In all things except the release date /bitter PS3 customer
  10. Probably. But to some of us, and I mean those who live in relatively civilised countries but still have itunes only delivering music and the video options of x360/ps3 consisting of a handful of music videos, that future seems awfully distant when compared to those who've become used to hulu/bbc iplayer/hd movies via itunes/netflix.
  11. Too bad all this stuff is kind of unuseable to me. I have one of the latest rev. xboxes and that thing is insanely loud. I can only theorise that an extra-woosh fan has been added as an additional measure to combat over-heating. I actually have to crank up the volume quite a bit over what I'd normally use (and what I use with the PS3). It's a pity, really, because barring the blu-ray support on the PS3 side, it would IMHO clearly be the superior console without these issues.
  12. I know what I'm doing next week. Thanks for the linkage.
  13. I went through quite a few during the .g era (Siemens, D-Link) and always had issues with those. I'm the 'family IT guy' and that has driven me to replace all the ones I have to manage with Apple Airports. That probably makes me uncool, but these suckers work like a charm to me. YMMV and needs may vary.
  14. It was nearly impossibly to predict how far the fire would go, they didn't show the radius when you were aiming it like in NWN2 and other newer games. If you used fireballs enough, you got the gist fast enough. Or loaded the fighters with fire res gear. If I was playing on the pc side, I'd never imagine turning off friendly fire. Since my situation in life forces me to go with a console version, I don't think I can be bothered with the extra hoops the console controller adds to the mix. :/
  15. Dragon Age Journeys. Bioware was kind enough to give me (European PS3 owner) an extra couple of weeks to get the unlocks done over everybody else.
  16. I dunno, Dave G. gets a free pass from me due to his work on Ascension. I think it goes a long way to show how passionate the guy is.
  17. Yeah. The emissary really should have been "armored fiend" or was it "armored figure"?
  18. It was not an OMG factor for me. It was a WTH (What the Heck?) factor - as in an expression of surprise regarding a magazine featuring electronic characters. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I think it's enough of a first (at least that I am aware of) to justify a WTH! I think Playboy has featured video game characters before and their latest issue features Marge Simpson apparently. According to them it's about trying to attract the ~20 age group to their magazine. I wouldn't be surprised if Maxim is trying to appeal to the same audience as well -- they do have a gaming section on their website after all. Anywyay ... I'm looking forward to playing the game Penthouse has a gaming section as well! ... or so I've heard!
  19. Congrats. With Alpha Protocol delayed (and a whole bunch of others, too), after that lack-luster summer, it really has been a real primetime for geeks to get paired.
  20. From what I understand, the PC version of the game was finished months ago but the 360 version was unfinished, and the desire for simultaneous release is what caused the delay. We are not aware of any such arrangement with Alpha Protocol. The game was finished - but then they decided to go back and include new stuff, while the engine was being ported. So it's not as clear-cut as people making it seem. Sure, the PC version could have been released in March, but it would not have had all the content and polish the version that's shipping in two weeks is going to have.
  21. No, it wasn't. It was a poorly disguised attempt at pretending to ask an innocuous question, luring someone in to try to convince you how good this game looks so you can start raving about how bad it will be, how it will be Borderlands in name only, how stupid people are for not replaying Planescape: Torment for the billionth time instead, how you just don't get how people can like Diablo-ish games because they are so beneath you (and throw in whining about achievements while you're at it) and being the angry internet nerd that you want to be. Umm. I think you're confusing me with somebody (everybody?) else here. Since your personal attack is the best answer I've had for a reason to buy this game, I'm going to have stand by my earlier assessment that it doesn't, in fact, offer anything to a person who is not a major consumer of games. Sure, I might have phrased my original question better, but I'm honestly not seeing anything meriting the hype in this game - and that's not common.
  22. Maybe I AM. But my question was an honest one.
  23. Yes(!). 'Cept I agree with 213374U's huuuuge lips comment. Scary! is probably better, Dragon Age bit starts at 7:50. Thanks a lot!
  24. So you're paying 309 SEK and I am expected to pay 463 SEK.. for the exact same game? **** that. I'll stick to my retail copy for 378 SEK and be lonely I'm saving even more money by SIMPLY NOT GETTING IT. I have no idea why, but for some reason this game absolutely no interest whatsoever to me. Everything I've seen so far points to much hype about nothing, what am I missing?
