  1. While I'll be the first to agree that the guy shilling DLC was a low point for DLC (of course, I got said DLC for free with my version of the game, so I never saw him myself), I'm aware of just the one guy - calling the game "littered with in-game, in-character hooks that, every time I passed them by, would scream (sometimes even in the dialogue screen itself) "BUY THIS DLC!!"" strikes me as the kind of hyperbolic BS that convinces me that there are, in fact, no real issues with Bioware's "business model" and it's just Steam fanboys who've found a common cause with gaming hipsters...
  2. Only if you assume the two are unconnected.
  3. absolutely hilarious. we can show examples o' excessive police violence from numerous european nations, particularly eastern european. Am not sure comparing U.S. to ex-soviet block countries is a particularly good comparison, I'd certainly hope it wouldn't be a standard most Americans aspire for.
  4. That's probably because (full) public support (like respect) isn't just demanded, it's earned.
  5. Been having a really persistent cold... still spent a large part of last night coughing, even if I'm at work now - in full-on zombie mode, though.
  6. Or they are microsoft shills/fanboys or just stupid. This is the internet, after all.
  7. My ps4s a lot quieter than my non-slim ps3. I don't notice it at all (unlike I did the ps3 and x360)
  8. But why there were police officers geared as they are in that last picture? As I can say for sure that there were zero polices in such gear in that riot that I mentioned my previous post or any other riots that there has been in Finland that I know and it is not because of that Finnish police don't have such equipment in their use. It's funny, I think most Finns actually have no idea how heavily armed average police patrols are - at least outside the major cities, where the ~8 guys on duty will have to sort anything from speeding to a hijacking... And why is that? Because they know when to de-escalate and when to actually pull that gear out... P.s. Should we go back to Hurlie's RV trip post and pull out all the references to specifuc counties to avoid due to the douchiness of the local PDs?
  9. Well, thread length seems to be another poor indicator. I mean, TN had to close the last one because all of the people who were compelled to show up and state that they have no interest in the game...
  10. Ps3 was a slideshow, well beneath the normal bio technical quality.
  11. It didn't look like there was friendly fire or attacks of opportunity in that gameplay. I wonder if either of those can be turned on in a higher difficulty setting? those were options in earlier da games... da:o at least. da2 is kinda a blur to us and is amazing how poor we recollect it. and no, da2 were not as bad as some suggest, but the developers did cut many corners with stuff such as recycled maps... thought sherman had set way-back machine for mid 90s and we were playing diablo at times. what we would genuine like to see is pc gameplay. honest. Gromnir could not play da2 and da:o on our console. no doubt some folks thought console gameplay were okie dokie, but we had camera invariably pulled back to max distance at all times on pc and we found keyboard interface to be far less awkward. am genuine wondering what it is about the damned da franchise that all gameplay video pre-release must be console only. da2, thankfully, had a gameplay demo so we could actual play da2 before release. any chance for a da:i demo? we don't follow bio boards much nowadays. also, we listened to commentary from gameplay trailer and we heard the bit 'bout 200 spells and abilities... which honestly don't sound like all that much when spread 'cross multiple classes and possibly including unique npcs. does 200 sound like a small pool to other folks or 'bout right? is even worse if they do the 3 tiers for each unique ability nonsense and the pretend they gave us 3 abilities by doing so. am not kidding 'bout our continuing disappointment regarding the lack o' dedicated pc gamplay video. if we were paranoid we might suspect that pc gameplay is identical to console. HA! Good Fun! Console DAO was indeed dire. I haven't played da2 on a console, but going from the lack of autoattack in the original release... I don't think I missed out on a lot. I'm guessing lack of pc material is due to it being still unfinished.
  12. Depends on the collective release dates, but currently assume dai followed by poe. I backed wasteland 2, but my main reward for that will be that it demonstrated the possibility of poe. Gonna take a longer period of drought for me to approach turn-based that isn't one of the gold boxes.
  13. You might find that a rather common frame of mind in this forum, even if it's rarely stated with such honesty
  14. Confirmed you can. https://twitter.com/Mike_Laidlaw/status/499481119927320577 (He was later allowed to confirm that it was, indeed, Hawke, but that was kind of unnecessary)
  15. *shrug*, Quantum Break looks like a game I might play if it came out on a platform I own, but definitely not the kind I'd buy a platform for.
  16. And who are actual RPG fans, pray? The same people as true scotsmen?

  18. Interesting. Using the pathfinder rules is a no-go, though, so this seems like a slightly odd exercise. Still awesome, if obsids gets some "real" work!
  19. I'm gonna mail that to my boss as an explanation for why I obviously need to take another sick day.
  20. I'm going to give it to her when I get back to the office on Thursday, I have been busy at customers since I got back. I did see the extended magazine but I only bought her 3 x packs of ammo. I also didn't want to go overboard on the presents until the relationships starts progressing. I'm glad you have heard about this Nerf gun, I had never heard about it until she mentioned it. But she said all her friends play this type of game Creepy office stalker mode... engaged. :D Not at all, in fact meeting someone at work is an excellent way to build a relationship. She doesn't work in my BU but works in a BU that we share a technology space with. So we always have something to talk about in a way that isn't awkward. In fact I would argue that the only way that is easier to meet someone outside of work is being introduced to someone through a good friend because that way the person you are meeting has already heard what a cool and funny person you are so the whole trust aspect of that first encounter isn't a problem. Of course the attraction component stills needs to be met but that's obvious in meeting any new prospective dating partner Oh, I know, for a long time I only dated coworkers because I had no other life. I'd still keep a different mindset to the whole thing, though. More of a "see what happens" than start planning for the wedding.

  22. Only the good ones. Personally consider mixing all different kinds of exercise the best way, wish I could swim more but chlorine doesn't agree with my skin.
  23. Texans should've traded that first pick...
  24. Main reason being convenience, if you have been walking for 4 hours and the streets are really busy the taxi option makes loads of sense. Trust me ... Underground...
