  1. I didn't think anyone could mount a convincing argument for a "winner takes all" system. Yeah, I still don't think that.
  2. Possibly the worst idea ever, or at least close to DA2's "let's just use these 8 areas a dozen times over, they won't notice", at any rate.
  3. Having now seen myself on a mirror, it's "bingo". Still manages to make basically half my face sore. FFs.
  4. It's funny the kind of women one can land with a short memory and limitless self-confidence. Just talking in general, here.
  5. Sure, apart from the "needing people to guard the ammo depot" part. Unless heat sinks get treated as ammo, even with possible plurality of use. edit: look what you did now. You got me into this in-universe discussion that I already dismissed as pointless.
  6. Apparently have a pimple on my nose. Hurts like **** and is generally quite embarrassing at my somewhat advanced age. Change in diet + epic stress'll do that to you, I guess.
  7. I know, I've worked for the Government Violence & Subjugation Machine.
  8. It makes for better gameplay than the system in ME1 (at least Bio think so, and having cruised the game more than once with non-overheating weapons, I agree). No reason to bring in-universe explanations into it, they'll be unsatisfactory at any rate. And even part of your in-universe easoning is mistaken, they didn't reintroduce ammo to the weapons, they reworked the heat dispersal system to use disposable heatsinks instead of the the continuous venting of ME1.
  9. I love it how you guys still try to package this as being somehow sinister. FFS, this is how the software business should work, find interesting independent project, fund it, proft. Next you guys'll be praising Bobby Kotick as a visionary to me.
  10. Kind of disagree with you here, I'd call it "gratuitously trampling over the player", since no part of the game had been established as canonical before the change. Of course, I should probably just be happy that my favourite character (the Handmaiden, and no it's not because of the naked fighting but in spite of it) wasn't just wiped away based on the other decisions that were made.
  11. Well, there's also the fact that they've been killing each other for decades and until recently there was nothing even resembling an organised government in any area of the country. Warlords and robber barons have been the only authority there, and apparently western shipping is better pickings than the locals.
  12. I read them for background, but the first two weren't exactly good and the last one was absolutely dire.
  13. Ah, I've studiously avoided all Star Wars novelisations in the past, though I'm inclined to check this one out.
  14. ^^ Also: Isn't that par for the course?
  15. Considering how anal Lucas licensing gets about stuff, I doubt that retconning will take place. He'll have to work within the canonised part of KOTOR II, which won't necessarily mean much (exile was female, everybody, including the Handmaiden, joined and became instrumental in recreating the Jedi order).
  16. Not sure if I quite got that, Greylord, certainly still can't see why a gaming rig wouldn't/shouldn't be connected to the net. I mean, I'm planning on getting a decent gaming PC this year, I'll definitely hook it up to the router, but I'll still continue to do my surfing etc. on this rig, which runs Apple OS X.
  17. It requires awesomeness to recognise true innovation.
  18. I'm sure there is a perfectly sane reason for this, I can't just think of one.
  19. I didn't, but if it fits your current self-image, we can retroactively change it to mean that. I love contract law.
  20. This was confirmed by Bioware as false, there are no new classes at this stage. All classes have a melee attack specific to the class.
  21. Considering that the (well, at least on the non-strategic level) main purpose of management is to guarantee the efficiency of work, I'd say that you were on the money - at least if you assume that by cutting them loose today, they are going to remember it next week and work at least the same amount they would've done if they'd stayed at work. I'd gently suggest that even that's a bit narrow. If a couple of days off now simply make them less stressed and it avoids a bout of flu then it's a win. Never mind intangibles like them just not being bloody miserable. Of course it's narrow, it's a two-line off-the-cuff remark I wrote while flushing the mental toilet between switching chapters in my dissertation writing.
  22. Yeah, obviously the PC-exclusive Witcher sold 100 times more than CodBlops did on all the platforms Bobby K can think of. Hadn't you heard?

  24. Thanks for the confirmation, good to know that I'm not losing my memory just yet.
  25. Because they view her as the pack leader, and you as subordinates.
