  1. In hindsight I regret giving my mage Earthquake & Petrify. Earthquake looked cool, but it never seemed to do what it was supposed to do, i.e. stop enemies in their tracks. In the endgame, I discovered Grease always works when I gave it to Wynne. Combined with Fireball it's just silly powerful. Imo it should've been possible to trade in a spell for another one each level up. This would've given the opportunity for the player to try out everything and discover what works and what doesn't.
  2. MOTB. Soon I'll probably play something else since I'm about to head to the Thaymount which is one big *yawn* level. I might continue with my Dalish Elf archer rogue in DA.
  3. Epic fights require epic spells. The lich king in that area can cast hellball, so is at least level 27. On another note, Safiya's Wail of the Banshee wiped out all Shadowmasters in one go, and even wiped out the entire Berserker lodge. So much for high fortitude saves.
  4. Safiya > Morrigan
  5. Keep it up, and you might get a job with Bethesda.
  6. The only technical problem I'm having with FO3 is horrible frame skipping.
  7. "Ungreatful", huh?
  8. What do you mean? The ending is worse than vanilla Fallout 3. But on the other hand, the ending is pretty brilliant too because in my naievety I didn't see it coming at all.
  9. Humans assailing 'heaven' & having their asses cursed for it in very drastic ways, happened in Tolkien's works too.
  10. Pretty colours...
  11. Divine Divinity is worth playing for the music alone. Kirill Pokrovsky even makes a cameo in Divinity 2.
  12. Melnibon
  13. With all the effort Bio seems to have put in creating a world with such detailed lore (as witnessed in the codex) an answer like "it's magic" is a bit of a cop-out, no? Tolkien's Elves are very different from humans appearance wise. Golden/silver hair, starlight in their eyes, all beautiful beyond description, etc.
  14. Sounds more like a hardware issue. Do you get a BSOD? Try disabling "automatic restart upon system failure" in control panel and see what it says.
  15. 'Lore' question regarding Emissaries:
  16. Compared to Daggerfall, Fallout 3 is the most stable, polished game ever released. That said, Oblivion never crashed on me, neither did Fallout 3. Just some occasional freezing when I first got the game, which was fixed by uninstalling some audio codecs. Morrowind... crashed every half hour or so.
  17. Very good idea, I should have thought about that. Would make the 'dramatic' ending cutscene of the origin comic gold too.
  18. Dragon Age = The Witcher lite.
  19. Things would have been much more interesting if the Dalish would actually be in a guerrilla war with the humans, instead of just trekking around doing nothing (save singing songs) as if the new Elven homeland would suddenly come falling from the sky. And if they didn't wear that ridiculous looking armour, maybe somebody would start taking them serious. The Witcher did it right with the Scoia'tael who were basically the frenzied berserkers that didn't take prisoners.
  20. I imagine Dalish Elf has something unique to offer in the Brecilian Forest. City Elf? Probably nothing major save the usual small repercussions once the PC returns to his/her origin. My Elven mage might as well have been a human mage. DA elves make even Peter Jackson's Lothlorien elves & Legolas seem like mighty berserkers.
  21. His voice would have been perfect for a Librarian or Accountant class. But as it is now, Engineer will have to do.
  22. At least it looks more exciting than the Deep Roads from Dragon Age.
