  1. Tiber Septim wasn't a rapist, he just took advantage of the notorious promiscuity of a Dunmer in her adolescency. Conjuration levels up way too fast in comparison with the other mage schools once you get a Bound Sword spell. Strangely enough it also levels up outside combat unlike Alteration. I got it to 50 without even trying.
  2. Use Fury to set multiple enemies against each other, then raise their corpses. Just raided a bandit camp like this.
  3. Best way to train conjuration: reanimate mudcrabs! It's still stupid considering the Imperials are basically doing nothing but kissing Thalmor butt. They're setting aside human beliefs for Elven beliefs. Ascending into godhood being possible is a basic part of Tamrielic lore. Not to mention Arkay of the original 8 Divines was once a mortal as well (and the reason why the King of Worms tries so hard to become a god himself). Since the level cap is 50, I surmize difficulty won't go down any time soon.
  4. I need a ranged magic spell. I fought some Necromancer Adept that pelted me with ice shards of some kind. Had to eventually bullrush her with a warding spell activated and cut her down with a sword. Also, do dungeons respawn? Because the necromancer hideout I raided seems like a pretty nice place to crash. Plus there's an enchanting & alchemy table.
  5. I don't get the story so far. It's all well that the Empire made peace with the Thalmor, yet they allow them to roam free all over the place and root out the worship of Talos? Never mind it was Talos (Tiber Septim) who founded the damn Empire in the first place. I wonder if my High Elf will somehow be able to join these Thalmor.
  6. I set timescale to 10. I'm finding time flows too fast in Skyrim, I didn't even get to do anything in Riverwood yet because it's the middle of the night each time I try to return to it. I don't remember it being this bad in Oblivion.
  7. I like that there is no stupid story-hook to dangle from, e.g. "Bring this package to Caius Cosades!", "Bring the amulet to Jauffre!", "Find Daddy dearest!". I also turned off all quest markers, but I'm not sure whether the game will be playable this way.
  8. Leveling fast is a non-issue considering you can only get around 70 of the total of 250 in-game perks. Not to mention you only get a small health/magicka/stamina bonus upon level up. There's also the fact that training already high skills will make you level up quicker.
  9. 1. buy random conjuration spell 2. spend a few in-game days in Gerdur's house training your magic and combat skills to 100 3. Profit!
  10. Currently checking out the "X marks the spot" around Riverwood. Melee combat is crappy, stealth is okay, but holy damn if the magic isn't incredibly fun. Those lumbering Nord bandits have no chance while I palpatine them into Oblivion. Enemy mages, though, is another matter. The game also runs much better with Vsync disabled.
  11. In Skyrimprefs.ini: bDialogueSubtitles=1 bGeneralSubtitles=1
  12. I don't like how the Thalmor are immediately shoved in your face in the tutorial. On the other hand, it was nice how an Imperial stooge asked my High Elf whether she wasn't a part of their embassy. They still wanted to chop off her head, though. Jerks. Aldmeri philosophy 101: As for Morrowind, it is mostly gone after the Ministry of Truth finally crashed down and caused Red Mountain to erupt; the rest got taken over by Argonians. What was left of the Dunmer fled to Solstheim. Most fun I've had in Skyrim so far: Also: FUUUUUUUUU-
  13. Finished the tutorial. Can't see what all the whining was all about, it was pretty decent to me. Though I had the impression my character was immortal when Spell effects are damn awesome. UI is an annoying oversized PIPBoy vehicle that gets in my face everytime. And finally, Imperials are jerks that all need to die.
  14. UI fonts are way too big. It's annoying me.
  15. I think you need to add bUseTotallyAwesomeTextures=1 in Skyrimprefs.ini
  16. The guy from Tweakguides has a GTX 580 and runs the game silk smooth on Ultra. Maybe wait for his tweak guide?
  17. This is a video of Skyrim on PC completely maxed:
  18. 50 minutes. EDIT: it's actually hilarious after FO:NV to again meet Roman LARPers. Those guys (and gals) are so dead.
  19. Gotta hand it to BioWare, though, how many games can end with ? On the contrary, many sci-fi games begin that way.
  20. 5 hours to go before it unlocks.
  21. But all the reviewers played the game for days. I know it's NMA, but there's hardly any reason to single out Bethesda games.
  22. The game doesn't deserve a 10 though. It is sorely missing Dragon shapeshifting.
  23. Presumably, Leia had an emotional connection to some individuals on the planet. I1m not sure what you're trying to say here. She became a living wound in the Force.
