  1. What's the point of dual wielding? I can see it useful for backstabbing, but in straight melee you can't even block.
  2. Huh? You can use these skills to let ANY armour or weapon reach the cap.
  3. Just because quest NPCs are immortal doesn't mean you can't mess with them.
  4. Illusion & conjuration level up very quickly and are both very useful. Enchanting goes hand in hand with smithing, and goes up fast as well. I've been leveling only magic skills and maxed them all out (save restoration) after reading the Oghma Infimium. Now I'm dabbling in smithing & enchanting to give my companions the best armour.
  5. 83 hours, according to Steam. I've done the Companions, and it was okay. I wish Bethesda would go back to Daggerfall system for guilds, i.e. just doing quests until you reach the master rank, but I guess these days they insist on inserting some story into it. The whole "enter Guild and something awesome happens" is getting old. Still, at least it's short and way better than Oblivion's Fighter's Guild and you can still do quests afterwards.
  6. Going to take a break in Skyrim when if Arkham City is out tomorrow.
  7. How the mighty have fallen.
  8. They're wrong.
  9. All in all, it's pretty impressive what Bethesda has been able to pull off using the ancient Gamebryo, and on consoles with that. Divinity 2 is a semi-open world game that uses Gamebryo and has lackluster animations as well, it makes me think there must be something about that engine that makes implementing animations difficult. Maybe Bethesda should've opted for Two Worlds 2's GRACE engine. I was impressed by it.
  10. I found "Blackreach". It's like a gameworld inside a gameworld.
  11. The game ceratinly isnt half bad. Without the companions, though, it would be pretty boring.
  12. When you bash things you enjoy, maybe it's time for another hobby?
  13. Here it's just water cannon and tear gas.
  14. I think the biggest improvement of Skyrim is that the world feels actually alive, much like a Gothic game. NPC interactions with each other and their actions in the game world are pretty believable while in Oblivion they just wandered randomly talking about mudcrabs. Even the Skyrim bandits are talking to each other and even engaging in fist fights on occasion, if you spy on them. As atmospheric as Morrowind was, and as unique its gameworld, the world was dead.
  15. I'm reading that Bioware Edmonton makes quality games? Here? Apparently the Styx froze and you can cross it by walking. Could've been sarcasm.
  16. Revan looks and sounds like a wuss in TOR. How many hit points does he have?
  17. Siege of Grozny: the RPG.
  18. No. New Vegas was alright because they received all the assets and engine of Failout 3 from Bethesda, so they could focus on their strengths rather than creating everything from scratch. If Obsidian had to make Skyrim from scratch, it would be completely doomed.
  19. I joined the Stormcloaks because I could identify with the Nords wanting freedom.. they are basically my fantasy setting ancestors. That was to be expected, though. Some in-game books make it clear how the Thalmor are evil masterminds whose plans take centuries to unfold. They removed the moons for two years only to have Elsweyr defect, and possibly even were responsible for the eruption of Red Mountain.
  20. I present to you:
  21. I became Thane of Markarth, Whiterun, Falkreath, Solitude, Morthal and Dawnstar. Morthal was a backwater as expected, but I expected more from Dawnstar. I joined the Legion because I wasn't impressed by Ulfric ****cloak. He's a major pansy and dumb as a brick, while Tullius and Rikke are pretty badass.
  22. Do more dragons spawn as the main quest progresses? The only dragons I've killed were at the dragon markers on the map (mountain tops). I've only killed 4 out in the wild. I have too many words that need to be unlocked but find no dragons to kill (and I realize I will probably regret saying this).
  23. Not for a pure mage. The Mage armour perks make armour spells 3 times as powerful + robes give benefits of mana regeneration. Armour, smithing & enchanting skills take either too long to level or some ridiculous munchkining to be effective.
  24. I'm guessing Wabbajack doesn't work on dragons or bosses? I'd like to turn them into chickens.
