^ Hey, it is what it is. The narrative is fairly simple but I like my character's gruff persona (barbarian). But it's OK. The music and visuals are nice, the combat is exciting.

I love Diablo. Friend me, my tag is earlier in the thread. I am Hackmaster the Barbarian on the US server, I will make a Demon Huntress on the Euro one later. DIABLO! FiGHTinG iN TunnELz FTW!!!

Halfwit. Do you really,*honestly* believe drivel like 'the suits' FFS? Trust me, whatever happens 'the suits' will turn a dime. The people you and people like you are *really* screwing are the likes of Avellone and Sawyer and Ferg and the guy who designs the cover art or manufactures jewel cases or drives the delivery truck or designs the architecture for the website that delivers the digital version... Piracy robs people of their jobs. Period. The ****ing adolescent squealing of the pro-piracy lobby (or, 'thieves' as we call them in the real world) actually turns my stomach. Srsy, grow the **** up. Because you sound like a tard. It doesn't really matter how wrong it is or how angry you become about it. As long as pirates offer better service than the publishers, people will pirate the **** out of anything. There's an example from the other end of the spectrum: People prefer to buy electronics from trusted manufacturers because of the reliability, stability, quality and warranty. Pirates can't provide that and thus the market is in the manufacturers favour. Reality doesn't bother me. Puerile excuses do. People should just say "I want free stuff - yeah I'm a thief." Then we can move on and discuss. At the moment you've got these ****tards in denial about reality.

^ Games are a product. They aren't a necessity. You could compare it to music. I don't like live music gigs. I find the oppressive security, crowds, merchandising and travel onerous (yep, like online activation etc). So I buy a CD or digital copy of an album instead. Am I missing out because of a condition of buying the product (i.e. live music at a gig)? Yes. Is that my choice? Yes. If you want to sock it to 'the man' wait until the game is DRM free on a site like GoG or go buy small indie games and flip the big boys the finger. Then they might listen. Stealing only makes them build up their security. Legitimate lack of custom doesn't. In reality this is about wanting free stuff. The rest of these arguments, albeit ingenious, are exactly the type of thing you'll hear in mitigation from shop-lifters, burglars and fraudsters of every stripe. In short? Not liking the way a product is delivered or administered does not excuse theft. That I even have to explain this is astonishing.

I wanted to love it but the controls were too complex for my little brain.

Now this only needs a German campaign too and I'm sold. Well, the original had two German campaigns in the expansions, including Arnhem so I guess they'll do it eventually. There's certainly enough scope to do it. I'm interested to see the new engine too, CoH was all about platoon level combat. CoH2 is promising bigger battles, I hope they ain't too big. Although obviously I'm looking forward to rumbling up to the Brandenburg Gate in my Stalin tanks... If you haven't played the existing Eastern Front mod, that's pretty good and the Soviet unit rosters are very well thought-out. But CoH really shines in multiplayer, which is what many of us are pretty pumped about.

Oh, and PC Gamer UK is giving away the first CoH game free with the May 9 issue.

1- Torrents aren't used exclusively for pirating. I download approximately 10-15 gigabytes per month of historical and political shows that aired in Russia on free television channels. That's just one of the million examples to use torrents legitimately. 2- What do you qualify as basic property rights, as opposed to advanced property rights? Owning physical objects such as apartment and a car is basic. Owning rights to a certain sequence of ones and zeros, that once decoded with a certain algorithm, turn into singing of words (that may have been "stolen" from previous singers), how is that simple? A singing that you did just once, then went home and made millions from it, that's not "basic", because it raises questions. How do you own rights of a sequence of ones and zeros? For how long should it remain YOUR property? How many millions is a person allowed to make yearly, since our resources aren't unlimited and by making so much money, your slow down humanity's progress, and since certain amounts of money are immoral, especially since they come from simple luck and no real useful accomplishment? Keep in mind, that money could be spent on research and development, or on sick kids, or on medical research for cancer. It's basic to you because you make absolutely no distinction between malum prohibitum and malum in se, which is a common trait of Westerners. If something is prohibited by law, then it must be bad (even if it isn't). If something isn't, then it must be good (even if it isn't). Independent thinking is frowned upon. 3- There can be models, in which private property in cultural and entertainment spheres doesn't exist, simply because those are essential to human beings, like medicine. Depriving people of such is one of the most inhuman ways to treat anyone. Providing a poor with a digital copy of his favorite song that he can't afford and WOULDN'T have afforded anyway (which means nobody loses anything), is it really a crime? Is it a crime that a kid whose parents are poor or simply don't spend money on him, gets to listen to someone sing? What a grim world you must live in. Nothing is simple about digital content. I don't really give a rat's arse about your definiton mate. The law in the UK regarding copyright is clear. The UK is entitled to operate within it's jurisdiction regarding the same. On a personal level, I've just written a book. It's with a publisher. It took me a long time to write, and if you want to read it you pay for it. Whining about free access to other people's labour just because it's in code doesn't cut any ice with me. Grow up.
-
Anyone surprised? There's no freedom (of speech or other) in the West. It's a big joke. I know, where will this respect of basic property rights end, eh?

That's how I roll, baby.

You could also host country house murders.

Ah, have you seen the old british tv mini-series Ultraviolet? Jack Davenport, Idris Elba, Phillip Quast, Susannah Harker - In an interesting take on vampires in the modern age. They did it in, hm '98 or so. Works quite nicely, done in a mostly understated way. Davenport plays a policeman who gets pulled into a secret government organisation that hunts Vampires after his best friend goes missing on the night before the guys wedding. Elba is the hard core squaddie who survived a vampire attack during the Gulf war that killed the rest of his mates, Quast plays the philosophical priest who leads the team, and Susannah Harker as the science type supporting them.. During the entire series they never actually use the term "Vampire" either... Nice elements of horror / conspiracy and a few other things thrown in the mix. Ultraviolet was great. Did they make a US version or show the UK one over there?

It's Fighting in Tunnels extreme. I can't wait.

To seriously answer the question there are about ten people here who I listen to, cuz I know if they like a game I will. So really, I come here. A bit backwoodsman? Yep. Do I care? No. But most of us have been on the site since 2004, and were posting on similar sites since the late 90's so we know each others foibles by now.
