I am writing a book set in America featuring American characters. I am writing American dialogue, syntax and idioms. It is very, very tough but an interesting exercise. Of course, I only need to sell a hundred-odd copies in every Wal Mart in the USA, and a few more online, to have enough money to pay off the mortgage. God Bless America!

I tried. But it was turd-on-a-stick. The critics were spot on. The bleeding heart West Wing contagion, over-heavy exposition and characters I wanted to machine-gun really didn't help either. A shame really, as I like Jeff Daniels as an actor a hell of a lot. If you are going to make a story about journalists must you *always* have worthy but headstrong anchor, eccentric world-weary editor, go-getting young thruster, ambitious correspondtrix and wet office girl? Did a level 5 NV run with three other level sixties on Diablo herself, farming Hell. The drops were OK actually, some yellows to go on AH but nothing you would actually equip. That's my main criticism... where do these weapons on the AH actually come from?

I still haven't seen the Lycaeum. I'm now getting a *bit* further into inferno with my Bbn but I don't have the time to grind so I can spend half a billion gold on decent equipment. Srsly, the drops are just terrible.

My monk is now level 51 on Hell. Drops are a mixture of meh and OK-ish. Obviously, co-op reaps bigger rewards but I like solo and clearing all the map. Does anyone know if there are any new areas in any of the patches? I know the maps are randomised but I found some new cave areas / dungeons on co-op Nightmare, one in Act I and another in Act II (which was full of pretty good treasure for a change). I'm also putting *all* my yellows on the AH for gold. I'm sure there's an economics PhD waiting to happen there, sheesh the crap people buy (i.e. all the stuff I put on )

I'm now completely torn. I downloaded the mod that converts BG1 into BG2 etc. I've got loads of other mods loaded into it. I've got a great game on the go. But I'd really like the extra stuff the enhanced edition is offering, but not for that price. Maybe I should support it out of principle, I love BG.

A guy at work has a Samsung S2 and one of those battery re-chargers. It gives him another fifteen hours and it's the size of a small bar of chocolate. Cheap as chips, you can find them on ebay and Amazon.

I think wizard is tough. Then again, strangely, the brute-force melee barbarian isn't easy. Have played them all and find the monk, if not the easiest, the most versatile. It's a solid melee / buff / interdiction class.
