  1. So much so that the moderators proactively shut down threads that go down that avenue of conversation, and quarantine everybody (not really) into a semi-dedicated area.
  2. Well, there was Adam and the Ants...
  3. I am too, really, however I have a friend whose probably already got his pitchfork out over this.
  4. The vibe I get from the trailer is a mish mash of Gibson, Bladerunner, and GITS, neck frillies and Don Quixotegoats aside. I don't really suppose any of that should be a surprise. The trailer is quite nice, though, and I really liked the theme music they got goin on. Pity about the "streamlining".
  5. It's okay Mikael Grizzly, I liked your mod. Not that my opinion counts for much around here, but that's a whole 'nother matter.
  6. I'm pretty sure the strange distortion in this pic is because it was taken from within the Geck. The character view screen thingy does this kind of fish-eye mirror thing you see here.
  7. There was some knee-jerk ugliness last night, when there was no real information. But quite a few people actually seemed positive towards the idea, seeing as Mr. Sawyer seems to have fairly good instincts about his mechanical tweaks.
  8. On the player's back on pic 2, I see weapon that looks suspiciously like a Winchester Model 1887...
  9. Strength requirements for big guns, perception for small guns, perhaps intelligence for energy? I'd go for something like that. The merge wouldn't even bother me if something like that occured. So long as overall we don't winde up with an even less balanced skill system and level cap. I know they've said the game will go up to thirty, but that won't really be a problem if we get fewer points and more skills to dump them into. Strength for all weapons would suffice with heavy weapons being wielded by only particularly strong characters you'd eliminate the problem of sneak characters the occasionally pull out a mingun and clear off a room full of heavily armed Nightkin. Energy weapons is still separated from Firearms, and I personally don't think that small arms need a requirement at all. I really doubt that the Obsidian team can pull off a system even less balanced than Fallout 3 anyway. To be clear, I'm not thinking of the requirements as hard thresholds for use, I'm thinking of them as tiered consequences, introducing things like increasingly severe gun sway or increased critical failure rate. [edit]: After thinking about it for a minute, I like your idea more than mine.

  11. This bothered me at first, but I'm guessing that Special is being made more important to your effectiveness with weapons, instead of just lifting your baseline competency. Hopefully Sawyer can weigh in at some point
  12. What about using survival to harvest water from plantlife? Water-bearing cacti are one of the primary sources of water in deserts like the mohave.
  13. A whole 5-10 fans of fo3 just made their O-face. I might have been one of them.
  14. I Lol'd. Can't wait to show that to my Fundybabtist brother.
  15. It looks pretty badass, I think.
  16. We've posted the same screenshots lol. Anyway it's nice to see that at least someone cares more about the new screenshots. My eyes, they do nothing! Seriously though, I have no idea how I missed your post.
  17. I love new pics, even if they're just higher res versions of old ones. I also love super mutants with face straps and less orky features: http://www.gamersglobal.de/angetestet/fallout-new-vegas [edit]: found on nma
  18. So it's a realistic videogame, taking place at a clinic on a saturday morning. I don't get joke.
  19. http://www.buildasign.com/SignReview.aspx?...350554833513D3D Cough it up, beetches.
  20. I know, right? The difference in price is eaten up by the graphic novel alone.
  21. To quote myself from the the bethboards: "Lol. Reading the article in person, and I just noticed the subtle RevCo reference on page 64."
  22. Agreed. And it will cost $100.00. And Ill probably still buy it. Gamestop is listing $69.99 for pc, $79.99 for consoles. [edit]: if that's accurate, I think it's a heck of a deal.
  23. I know, right? They really went for the full court press/hail Mary, or some other sports analogy that I don't actually understand. Who ever put this thing together seems to have really scoured every applicable fo:nv forum for all the best ideas.
  24. What makes it even better is that we posted the exact same videos.
  25. I personally used the 'alternative soundtrack' since I couldn't stand the Oblivion-ish themes of Zur. Even if I try to detach them from the game they're so ... soulless... I hope he does a better job on New Vegas. How was his work on Tactics? Better than FO3, I'd argue. ^oh come on, one minute apart?^
