What's on the idiot box?
I am currently watching season 3 of The 100. Can't help it... the political plot is stupid as hell. The idea behind it is ok, but I can't believe the "skaikru" people are so dumb not to see that killing hundreds of the grounders will not make all of them their enemies... and the grounders are way more in numbers (there are 12 clans). Every time this new chancellor makes a decision I can't stop shaking my head because it's so, so damn unbelievable stupid. Urg, after the much better season 2, this one is a huge letdown so far.

Well, it's not like you got that much to lose. You can loot max. 6 items in the dark zone- everything else in your inventory remains with you, so you'll never have a that much to lose whenever you die. Compared to other games such as DayZ, it's actually very relaxed, as far as my experience with it goes right now. Most of the time the players are working together- because that's how you get the biggest chance to extract your items.

Yeah, it kinda was. But then again, it's an open pvp arena and all the people were so fixed on getting their loot out that nobody bothered with checking the surroundings. It's simply what you have to deal with under such a ruleset. :>

Yesterday everyone was corwding around the DZ extraction zone and the moment people were able to attach their stuff to the rope, another player from the background started to one-hit kill them all. I wanted to rage, because I was one of them downed ones, but actually I thought that was amazingly efficient to piss off people in a loot based pvp game. So in the end I lol'd about it. Next time I was smarter.

looking for a new microphone
Soooo, after that monitor thing, I am now looking for a new wireless gaming microphone. Thing is: I would like a headset with just a microphone on it. Usually I always play with sound via normal speaker, and I've had my old headset around my neck. It worked pretty well so far, but the cable is annoying & limiting me now... Anyone got ideas for some alternative setup? Or what about these tiny mics people stick on their clothes? Does something like this would work in that case? Obviously the voice quality should be good. I've bought some wireless headset from Asus last week, which I wanted to use like my old cable headset: Wearing it around my neck, but honestly, the sound quality is so, so bad, it's hilarious. Even if I wear it as intended I find it hardly suitable for anything speaking-related. So yeah, now I am looking for something new.

What are you playing right now?
I've checked out the dark zone in The Division and it's actually quite a lot fun. It got quite the appeal and I like the other players running around there. Sometimes I'd wish to see more players in "regular mode" as well (players who aren't in your group).

Which boss? Also, always try to get human help. It's a lot more useful than the stupid ai who will let itself get killed easily.

Anouncement of a new game on 15th march
Meh. Not what I would like to play. I don't want to see yet another magick-something-something game.

Looking for a new monitor
Bought that VG248qe now. With default settings the screen really is way too bright. It's such a huge difference to my old monitor. The old windows default background for example was shining in a very, very bright blue. Had to fiddle a lot with the settings first, and reduce the general brightness to get it approximately to the visuals I had before. It's not exactly the same, but I think it works good enough for what I need. Still would have prefered it to work right out of the box. Well, guess one can't have everything... The foot, though, is way too big. The monitor now stands like 15cm away from the wall, taking more space on my desk than the old one (was taking already too much space). So if I keep this one as main screen, then I will totally have to mount it on the wall. There is no way around it. Alternative would be to use the new one as secondary monitor, vertical.... Then it would fit on my desk a lot better. Still, I would need to mount the old monitor to the wall, because that's what I originally wanted to do anyway.... so might as well buy a second VG248qe instead and have it all fit together. Life is hard.

I still have that big daddy figure somewhere in a box. Started to *not* buy this stuff at all, because I really don't have the free space for it anymore. Kinda sucks, but I am somehow digging this minimal "no random crap" in my house.

Wow, that actually explains a lot. I did hear a few people talking already and wondered what the hell this stuff was about.

I am also level 7 and would be happy to group if we can find each other. I think my name is Hurlshot. I have no idea how to use the social tools, so that will be an adventure. I've send you a friend invite via Uplay. Let's see if this works. Also let' see how that timezone difference works out. :> /Edit: What I actually would love to see here is some dialogue stuff a la Mass Effect or similar. Doesn't even have to be deep or so, but just a lil bit more in the side missions.

So, annyway. I am about level 7 or something right now. Does anyone feel the need to team up some day? Public groups are kinda fast and it's like everyone is doing their own crap.

Well that actually doesn't sound too bad. But can they really put this into one movie?

I don't feel motivated for any of these new super heroe flicks, so... anyone feels motivated to spoil me this civil war stuff? Why did it happen, what was the outcome?

What are you playing right now?
Anyone knows if there is any sense behind the silencer in The Division? Seems pretty pointless to me, because no matter what, everyone starts shooting at me anyway.
-
What are you playing right now?
I bought the Division for pc and I play it with gamepad on my tv- first I had been worried it might give me a huge drawback compared to players who use mouse and keyboard, but so far I didn't noticed anything like that. If at all, it felt like I did at least as good, if not better. So either I am a good player no matter what (which I kinda doubt), or it really doesn't make that much difference for the game. So far I like the game, but I can already see a pattern in the mission design: You always shoot stuff. There never seems to be anything without shooting. Even if you enter one of these contamined zones and do this "activate terminals" stuff, at latest short before the end you will meet a group of dudes which you have to shoot dead. Also some funny moments: - be me, walking down the road - find a mission: Looters robbing a hardware store! - kill the looters, because justice! - oh, there are boxes with loot in the hardware store, let's take everything with me. :> - lel, now I am the looter. Or... - be me, running down the road - find two people causally walking down the road. - they do nothing bad - but crosshair turns red - shoot them up, because justice Now that reminds me: - be me, find people with hostage - kill people for justice - free hostage - hostage is like "thank you so much for saving me!!!!" - and i am like "oh, a box with loot! step out my way, you dumb person!" - hostage is like ((((((( Other than that, the city looks real beautiful. Actually makes me kinda wish to have such a game in The Last of us setting. Huge city, lots of free roaming, different players here and there and a truckton of The Last of us zombies inbetween. I think that could work at least as good.

Ok folks, I too am rocking this wool hat now: Best item, imo. It made me buy the game.

That's good to know. With Anno 2070 my experience was that it didn't worked via Steam at all. It was easier to run it through Uplay right away.

I would certainly like to play the game, despite my fear of endless, horrible grind, but thinking about installing UPlay again... meh.

Diablo 2 (i.e. TWO) gets a new patch, 16 years after its release
How is widescreen support? Without that, I really wouldn't play the game again.

What are you playing right now?
I agree with that. Overal the changes seem to be good (I already knew the base game in and out, though), but some placed enemies felt really weird. For example in one of the early areas there suddenly is one of these huge hippos right next to the main road. I really don't get why they had to place this one there. From a gameplay point of view it makes little sense to me.

Looking for a new monitor
So far two people have suggested me the Asus VG248QE. It's 289€ on Amazon, but oh well, could as well increase the price range to 300€. The only thing a little bit worrying me about this one is: I've read from a few people that they had to fiddle a lot with the settings to get the colors somewhat right, because the default settings "are bad". The majority doesn't seem to care, though.

Looking for a new monitor
My current resolution of 1920x1080px is totally fine for me. Also I forgot to write that 24" is my target size (same as my current benq). Response should be as good as possible, regarding the colors: I don't necessarily need them to be exactly and 100% totally true to real colors, but I've read about some monitors having something like "too much blue", which is really not what I'd like to have (yes you can fiddle with the settings a bit on your own, but.. ehw). About the rest of your questions... no idea. I am using a Nvidia graphic card, so I'll guess I would stick to G-Sync.
