What are you Playing Now? - What doesn't kill you, gives you XP
Lexx replied to Mamoulian War's topic in Computer and Console
Playing some Armored Core 6. It's good, but sometimes I start to question my sanity about why I torture myself with those From Software boss battles which I suck too much to do well. So far it isn't as bad as in Elden Ring, but there's a few fights now that I had to repeat a bazillion times and it almost makes me want to just never boot up the game ever again. -
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, Thread 2
Lexx replied to Katphood's topic in Computer and Console
Tbh, that trailer gives me nothing. All we see is some combat action, but simple truth is, I rather do the talky or sneaky way in my roleplaying games. And that's pretty much what would be important to me in a new Bloodlines game... How is the dialog, what stuff can I do, and how avoidable is the combat. The new company has no (good) track record in any of that stuff, but since everyone got fired some years ago, who knows what's going on now. Maybe they did find good replacements, maybe not. tl;dr - need to see actual gameplay if they want me to get excited. -
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, Thread 2

Ah s- here we go again. Not sure what to think of it. Too lazy to check the old stuff, but looks kinda the same to me. /Edit: And more. https://www.pcgamer.com/vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines-2-has-been-quietly-rebuilt-by-dear-esther-developer-the-chinese-room-with-different-gameplay-mechanics-and-rpg-systems/ -
Yeah, this is pretty much why I stopped watching the anime. It's standing still for too long.
-
Watched the first episode of One Piece. Honestly was not bad. I mean, it's pretty ridiculous when Zorro puts the 3rd sword into his mouth, but so was the anime, I guess. Still, will keep watching. Nice.

Somehow I am oddly excited to watch that One Piece live action show. It will probably suck, but still... this is probably the first time ever that I can't wait to dive into it. Not sure why, though. Maybe because I have fond memories of the first few chapters of One Piece? Just realized that I somehow completely lost the motivation to keep watching it at around episode 300 or whatever. Even to get to this point I had to force myself quite a lot and it took me years. Maybe it's because the story is progressing so damn slow and there is so much filler.. or I just don't like how over the top crazy everything got.

Random video game news... the critical eyes have it
Lexx replied to Hurlshort's topic in Computer and Console
As far as I am aware, usually such people are the absolute minority. It doesn't really affect your statistics unless you really completely f'd up and got lots of people to hate on you for one reason or another. Basically, it only affects you negatively if they manage to get your review score down *a lot* for a long time. Lots of people just glance at the % once and if it is below a certain value, they will not buy anymore, or only if it feels cheap enough. -
Random video game news... the critical eyes have it
Lexx replied to Hurlshort's topic in Computer and Console
This is why I don't tell anyone that I'm playing video games. -
Who knows, maybe they are still alive and hiding in argentinia or something.
-
Probably will reset all the stats and stuff on your first load. At least that's what i would do since literally everything is different now.

The TV and Streaming Thread: US Writers/Actors Strike Edition
Lexx replied to Raithe's topic in Way Off-Topic
I thought the same, but apparently this is based on the books (never read them). Personally I would have preferred them to be just bros as well. -

Only thing I'm a bit uhh, about with Good Omens s2 is the ending, which I had not seen coming in that way. -

It was already terrible in real life, why would anyone want to watch a documentation about it. -
There's two more things I'm not really a fan of: 1. Some of the eastereggs are *really* on the nose, and there's some areas where they seem to show up all the time, right next to each other. Wish it would be way more subtle. And 2. some boss characters have an incredible amount of hitpoints and/or armor protection. I get it, they want to make me have a challenge, but it just kinda pulls me out of the game if there suddenly is a guy that has me blasting magazines and grenades into him and he just won't die.
-
Yeah, up to that point I honestly thought I'd be steamrolling through the rest of the game. Boy did they showed me. It actually made me wonder how they thought the initial encounter should play out - do they actually expected your entire team to die, and you would then hire new mercs for revenge? It took me a hell of a lot time to get everyone out alive.
-
Managed to get a foothold now, slow but steadily. Man, the difference with the new team is huge. 4 people, all high level, and even with their crappy starter weapon they managed to give those army dudes a run for their money. Have to say it was really fun to hunt down single enemies with shadow and knife them dead. Also Scope hasn't missed a single time yet - reminds me of the good old days. I really like how the elite mercs look like actual soldiers, while all the early game people clearly are not.

11 hours later, I've triggered a.. uh.. main event. And now crap hits the fan, like literally. I'm completely outgunned, getting f'd on all sides. Spend the last 2 hours on trying to win a fight against 10 enemy dudes, and I'm getting wrecked. Had to retreat a couple times, while picking off a few hostiles here and there, to try to weaken the next wave... I didn't realize what wimps the legion is... now I'm wishing them back. Jeez. Makes me wonder if I jumped ahead in the story a little too fast, or if it's intended like that. The enemies are rolling over my militia as if it doesn't even exist. Just by pure miracle (probably the god of random) I was able to keep one of my mines. Luckily I'm swimming in cash with half a million ... Decided to set up a 2nd team now, so brought back a few of my old pals. Shadow, Reaper, Scope, and as new addition, Fauda. Will see how that works out.. have to escape from starter island now, which has been completely overrun as well.

So I've tried using a machinegun, and I think now I get why some folks have issues with ammo. That thing is blasting inside the view cone like there is no tomorrow. It's pretty easy to use up 100 rounds of 7.62 in a single battle. But on the other hand, I'm cutting down enemies so fast... it's highly effective.

Are you people playing in a higher difficulty setting? I've read of you guys money troubles and how hard it was to capture certain sectors. So the thing is ... Finally yesterday I had time to actually dig into the game and by the end of the middle of the night, I had both mines, the one in the top, and the one at the bottom of the coast. I have 6 mercs now - me, Ice, Hitman, MD, Igor, and lately I've hired Livewire, because I thought it useful to have an actual mechanic and hacker. I have something around 40k in money. I'm playing on the difficulty setting that is not the super hard one (forgot what it was called). I had been in the one or the other pickle, but all in all I've managed fairly well so far. The game has some really cool moment, and I love it when the music sets in every once in a while. That whole african flair is just great. As I had expected before the release, the maps are all pretty small and often feel like just a set combat arena. Still, the maps look great. Just wish there would be a few more opportunities. Oh, and man, I quickly found out how useful sniper rifles are. Since the very first time I found a fat rifle, I'm kicking ass. And since I have found an M14 with mods from a weapon smuggler, Hitman hits 90% of his shots.. to the head. He is cleaning up the field almost on his own. I gave Igor the golden rifle that was mentioned further above and jeez, that thing hits like an elephant. Oh² one more thing... In the starting area I got a Famas with mods... but I have never used it so far, since I actually don't have *any* 5.56mm ammunition. And I have absolutely no idea where I can find some. Is there a weapons shop again like in Ja2? The interface is kinda annoying to use, and I couldn't find anything via the web browser. What's the point of giving me a cool rifle if I don't have any ammo for it. It's crazy how good this game feels. After so many failed attempts to make a new JA game, it feels extremely weird to suddenly have one that ... doesn't suck. It's almost like you expect a new JA game to suck, because "that's just how it is." And when you play this game, it's like it was actually really easy to make a good sequel. Like.. what's the big deal? Here you see exactly how to do it ... why have all those other studios not been able to do this? Is it really actually Ian Currie who is the only one who understood the game and was now able to make another good one? I just don't understand. Granted, the game also has its fair share of issues, but it's nothing I can't look past for the moment.

Actually that was a serious question, since it was all I remembered about it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wait, but didn't someone in here just recently said that the whole grain thing only matters to europe and nobody else?
