Its the constant exposure and the kowtowing of media to their nonsense. If you had told me in the 2000's that within 10 years a bunch of special snowflakes and corporations would ruin every form of entertainment I wouldn't had believed it. ****, I had to get a life that how bad its gotten. Eh, but at least save it for stuff that matters. I'd definitely believe that my entertainment would be ruined in the 2000s - I saw my favourite genres die or get close to it (RTS, adventure, tactical shooter) and have always expect corporations to ruin everything after reading Neuromancer

I can't help but wonder if this is a case of lost context with respect to this song since most people are familiar with it from countless covers and not the original version in context of the movie it was in, Neptune's Daughter (not a Christmas movie, but it was a hit, as was the song). The movie has two couples singing the song, switching the parts between the men and women, and its clear for both couples the concern is what people will say, not in their not wanting to stay and canoodle. Even more ironic is that "Baby It's Cold Outside" was a substitute song according to Esther Williams. The Hayes office wouldn't approve "(I'd Like to Get You on a) Slow Boat to China" (supposedly they interpreted the "get" in a particular way). When "Baby It's Cold Outside" was nominated for an Oscar, other songwriters protested as Frank Loesser had created the song for him and his wife to sing at parties, but as it'd never been professionally performed, the MPAAS allowed its nomination to continue. That's the issue, more or less. I never took the song to have the vibe people upset about it claim it has, always saw it as some elaborate dance. But oh well, this is Canada, where they had banned Money for Nothing due to one line

Just watch the cutscenes on Youtube, you don't get much story in game, it's compelling character and world design, with a story outline the same way Castlevania or Half-Life is, there's actually not too much narrative because it's a game and you play it. It works if you let your gameplay journey be the story. I've played the game before, was more wondering if I was missing something as everyone in a paroxysm of rage post the D:I announcement said it had a complex storyline and was deep. Felt it was a shade better than D3, minus D3's villains - minus Diablo's - idiocy. Then again, same people seriously state D3 has no dark elements in its presentation, so perhaps I am wasting time.

But-but... why would you go through K2 and not use the restoration mod? I understand the quality of some of the stuff added by mods is uneven (M4-78), but TSLRCM is pretty much a must. Otherwise, from the moment you step on Malachor, it's placeholder-quality content. You doing some sort of penance? Installed it out of boredom and due to a friend talking about Kreia, I remembered there was a restoration mod about half way through the game so decided to just wade on. Maybe will try it with the mod in another run. Only played this through twice in all these years, anyway.

Into KOTOR 2's jarring as hell ending. Probably should have gone with the restoration mod, I suppose. Oh well, will force myself to grind through that. My build still sucks, Nihilus wrecked me - all my shields and boosts were wiped by the cutscene - having him shot to death by Canderous was funny though.

Even after all these years, I never learned the proper use of most of those Force powers. It's why even when I played as a super good Lightside character, I still spammed Force lightning. In my defense I have never read the manual, maybe that'll help explain things. Game is way more buggy than the last time I played, have had at least 10 instances that force me to kill the .exe
