  1. Bah I think it should a bastion of post-apocalyptic puritanism.
  2. Well you're overreacting here already so, hah. You can't seriously rate that as one of the greatest gaming moments of all time.
  3. Ya, now I get it...that was unfortunate, but it still was one of the greatest gaming moments for me. You left "in Fallout 3" out of your post, I think. If so, I'd probably agree with you. Whoever decided the ka-ching sound was needed, cool or anyway positive deserves a smack.
  4. Hah, couldn't agree more. One thing I did like about stepping out of the vault..after the recoiling in disbelief at the "hey want to redo your character?" screen anyway, was the way the screen represented your eyes adjusting to the sunlight. Reminded me of Fallout's note about the Vault Dweller seeing sunlight for the first time in his life. After that, nothing else got the same reaction, heh.
  5. Thank goodness for Adblock then. :D
  6. Not stupid, I'd like to have a physical copy of both. The extras are pretty nice, like the map and the extra DVDs (not sure if you could download those, but it saves you the hassle of burning).
  7. Eh nothing wrong with any of that. Although the use of "tr00" even in quotes is needless. Problem with them is their over-sensitivity to what is hostile or rude.
  8. Ammo being plentiful would have been less of an issue if it had weight, still don't get the design decision there. As fun as it was walking around with huge amounts of varied ammo, was sort of cheap.
  9. Oddly enough I've never been warned by the forum mods - and I've been as cutting to people and Bethesda in general - other than some useless "hey, be nice" PM. Some of them are too far up Bethesda for my liking, the rabbit one is one example. I'm surprised Kjarista got warned though, heh.
  10. Well I'll make a note of that, heh. Not really sure how the concept of the EE was counterproductive in anyway, I'm curious to see how many new sales they made off it though. If they did charge for it, say a little fee of $10, most of the existing owners might have purchased it still I think, rather than bitch. The box came with a bunch of other "goodies". In any event, this isn't that big a loss.
  11. Eh if anything they should have charged for it, if you want to think that way, as they allowed existing owners to download it all for free. Still, glad that they were nice to their fans by releasing a touched up version. Not sure what the "the PC fans and all that" is about, heh.
  12. Warhammer 40k-Kart. Hm, that could work. True shame about the people being laid off, the console game dying is meaningless to me as I don't play those games. Shame, I wanted to see Yahtzee review this and maybe BS some more.
  13. Oh, that kind of game is fine by me. The Witcher is sort of similar to KOTOR II in that aspect, you've got amnesia and have a chance to define yourself through choices throughout the game, anyway, both of them worked wonderfully. Yeah, there's some persecution going on here clearly - dare say a conspiracy! In any case, Fallout 3's story weakness isn't the lack of urgency in the main quest- you could ignore Arroyo in Fallout 2 for a long, long time, for example - just things that help make up the story, the writing for the NPCs, dialogues, stuff like the ridiculous way you can defeat the Enclave). Overall it wasn't total crap though, even if there was a...familiarity to the plot
  14. I wouldn't count on that, previous Fallout games weren't done in that way. And they'd turn off the virtual-LARPers that Fallout 3 has, heh.
  15. Casino chips sounds very likely. Although not as durable as caps, they can't be reproduced and should be plentiful enough in the Vegas area. I'm expecting bottlecaps though. Vegas is probably close enough to be affected by the NCR so probably just "money" like in Fallout 2. I'd be very surprised if the NCR didn't show up in this game, maybe even as the villains. Eh, I'd hope there aren't any 'villians' in the 'guys in black coats and hats' kind. It'd be nice to see NCR and interact with them somehow though, maybe hear some references to the Chosen One's actions and so on. Although I'd like to see as many original factions as possible - please God, no Enclave or BoS.

  17. I'm still a bit wary about Max Payne 3. No Remedy involved, after all
  18. I always thought the eyes and groin shots were there as they were parts of the body that might be exposed by armour. Now, it still works against PA, the eyes still make sense, the glass there is weaker than the steel everywhere else, so... Hm. Ok, I'll just have to go with groin being there as the idea of being shot there seems extra painful.
  19. The Witcher EE - CD Projekt really did a great job touching things up, Dandelion's voice is better as is Adda's. Also retrying KOTOR II, forgot how amazing a character Kreia is.
  20. Well called shots is useful when outnumbered or at some other form of disadvantage, shoot the arms of a guy with a big gun (I wish you could just shoot the weapon out of his hands, hit the eyes of a sniper, etc. It's a neat tactical tool. I do agree the gore was over the top, decapitating someone with a pistol shot was stupid.
  21. VATS is ok, I don't mind being able to stop and aim for a body part. But the bugs in it where you'll empty a burst into the wall that you thought you were clear of, and that silly slow-motion display annoy me to no end.
  22. For me, the fact that everything is so disconnected is one of the biggest problems with FO3. Every quest is like its own little isolated minigame. It may even be interesting, but if it doesn't affect anything outside its own little minigame space, then it never really amounts to much. At least for me. Yep. It reminded me of a MMO, with all the quest hubs being insular playgrounds, although that might be my WoW conditioned mind showing ill effects It was one cool thing about Fallout 2 how the towns' quests would link with each other (Bishop and Vault City, etc).
  23. Yeah, relates to Kjarista had posted earlier - it'd be nice if there were fully fleshed out paths for a good, evil, neutral playthrough. Rather than a bunch of disconnected "Be Evil? Be Good?" moments. The essential NPC thing was a bit of a disappointment the first time I experienced it Kjarista, you need to lighten up, my friend. Besides, I wasn't Bethesda bashing - I merely commented on a shortcoming in the game. As I've said on the other boards, Fallout 3 is an ok game by itself, maybe a 6.5-7/10.
  24. How that's relevant, I have no idea. Amusing though.
  25. Well, posed like that, yes, yes it does. What a surprise. maybe I'll ignore you here as well. Point is, no game is perfect, and some otherwise good games suffer from large flaws. Obsidian fans should know that just a swell as we Beth fans. The most exciting thing about all of this is, perhaps between the two of them, we can manage to get a stellar game. Heh so what did you want as a response then ? It does detract from the game. I know seeing Amata's reaction to my slaying of her father was underwhelming, although that was more VA related than anything (I'd expected her to try to kill me though).
