I built a PC for my friend out of spare parts I had laying around: AMD X2 4200+ MSI 7300LE video (DVI) XP 64bit After all drivers are updated and xp patched the monitor still has a issue. It will go black for about 3 sec then come back and continue to do that ever few mins. Latest video driver does not solve it nor changing the refresh rate to 75hz. I did a google search and did not come up with much, and the acer site does not even have a driver listed for this monitor. Any ideas? Thanks!

Indeed and how the 'angels' took a swipe at modern, orginized religions. Loved the final scene. I don't get why adama wanted to live in exile however. The chief made more sense. As for SB there really was no other way to handle that. They needed to explain some way her coming back from the dead.

Forgive me, and what tv show have you written and produced? Please tell us how you know better the RDM?

Wow... fracking wow... I got at least one guess right at least! haha The battle scene was great. And they addressed the visions cap 6 and baltar saw, that was interesting. Indeed the whole starbuck thing freaked me out. Indeed she was a ghost simply there to help them to get to earth. Well handled. I thought lee and SB would end up together actually. Fitting baltar and 6 end up right where they started 5 yrs ago. I was so happy tori got what was coming to her, finally! Only loose end they didnt address was what happened to all the civil war cylons they attacked. Sure the base got pummeled but it didnt seem to be destroyed and other cavils and such have to still be alive. All in all GREAT ending! I am very sad.. and drunk.. now..

Why I think all girls need to be on meds...
TheHarlequin replied to TheHarlequin's topic in Way Off-Topic
While some admittedly broad brushes were used, if you thought after reading ALL my posts that was the main goal, then you missed the point of this thread. Also on a humorous update, after I posted this (both here on and myspace), of the 4 girls I had in mind when I typed it up 3 contacted me totally out of the blue. The single unifying theme in all 3 were the words 'I'm sorry' at some point in our conversation. Go figure. -
Fallout designer Jason Anderson joins inXile For new RPG
TheHarlequin replied to funcroc's topic in Computer and Console
From a fresh interview talking about why he left interplay/v13: Q: Did you leave that project because of internal factors, or simply because inXile seemed better for you? JA: The future of the -- well, I don't know if I want to go there. [inXile] was a more stable opportunity. I wasn't even in the process of looking when this opportunity arose. It was a perfect fit. That does not make me feel all warm and fuzzy about the status of the v13 project... -

This does not bode well for the FO MMO. He left interplay (and the V13 project) to go there... -
I LOVE spooning! Especially if she has a nice body and... ermm... wait...

Why I think all girls need to be on meds...
TheHarlequin replied to TheHarlequin's topic in Way Off-Topic
I want to thank everyone for their funny, interesting. insightful and even harsh views and opinions. I am sure you do not need nor care for me to go in depth anymore then I have. Frankly this was a exercise of venting and just get the frustration off my chest than anything else, therapeutic I must say when you write such down. However your feedback was helpful none the less. In closing for the record, I want to say I do not paint all women with the same broad brush normally but when you get fed up with a topic, at times, you tend to do so out of annoyance if nothing else. Thanks again for the great feedback. -
Ok... I am perplexed. Seriously. I am in my mid 30s and I still don't understand women. They say one thing and then do another without apparent remorse or consideration for the other person. Bordering on lying to your face rather then simply be honest. I have run into a short string of women who have decided to say one thing to me then do another. Rather then simply be honest at the start, so I have decided to take then opportunity to look into this. I have come up with 3 distinct possibilities; 1. They simply have no intestinal fortitude to look one in the face and tell the truth. They think by feeding said person a line which they have no intentions of doing, then turn around walk away and never follow up it's apparently 'ok'. Let me be clear to all women reading this; if you are NOT interested in making plans or seeing the guy again JUST SAY SO. We are not going to jump off a bridge, trust me. Any half reasonable guy will be 'ok, thanks anyways' and move on. No drama, no BS. Lets be honest sweety, you are one of a few HUNDRED girls we will see tonight. If you are not into us then SAY SO and stop feeding us your lines so we can try to meet someone that is indeed interested. I have better things to do, as I think all guys do, then wasting my time and my eve flirting with you when you already know you are not into me. You are not the only girl I could be talking to, trust me. 2. All women on some level are bi-polar. When they meet you and say they will call or they make plans to go out at the time they mean it. By the next day however, for whatever reason, their brain over analyzes the situation or/and freak themselves out due to past baggage, drama, whatnot and then decided it would be best to blow you off or they simply have lost the apparent interested they showed you all the previous night. Within a span of 12 hrs of course. Yea... Time for some meds or therapy I think. 3. I wouldn't be fair if I didn't look at myself. Now I am far from perfect, I'll be the first to admit that. But I am educated, have a few bucks, witty, can hold a convo about many topics, have a high sex drive and stable (more or less ). I have my flaws of course, as everyone does, but I do not think they overrule my positive side. One could say its my approach. I am not forward enough.. or I am too forward.. or I do not play the game the 'right' way.. Well you know.. I am TIRED OF GAMES. I want to meet someone that if she has a interest in me she simple has the 'balls', in the proverbial not literal sense, to follow though if she makes plans on some level. I do not think this is asking for a whole lot. Really. Apparently though it is. Women cry about wanting to met a 'nice guy' and don't want 'games' yet they really don't want that. They more times then not (I lost count how many times I have seen this with my own eyes) will go for the bad boy who's going to treat them like dirt rather then the stable guy who will treat them well. They will kick the decent guys to the curb for the 'edgy' guys then 3 months later whine about how unhappy they are and wonder why. Here's a little story to prove my point, my ex-Melinda who some of you know while we lived together for over a year I treated her as best I could. Gave her respect, supported her, loved her. On a good day I got 50% of that outpouring back. After we broke up due to her burning me I treated her like dirt. Told her 'the only thing you are good for to me is to ****, otherwise leave me alone'. What did she do, kept calling me and wanted to come over for months after. So treated her good, I get treated poorly, I treat her poorly she can't get enough of me?! Granted Melinda needs some SERIOUS therapy due to her past baggage (which is what in the end destroyed our relationship) but even with that said SOMEONE explain that to me in a world that it makes sense.. Granted I am not Mr. smooth player. I don't try to use all the best lines, nor do I play the games. And that probably is the issue. I NEED to play games, play harder to get, not be so honest and upfront and do all the things that in the end the girls may say they don't want but apparently really do. Frankly stop being a decent, nice guy. Too nice it seems. Perhaps I should become that total jackass melinda brought out in me after we broke up and be like that to all women. Perhaps my luck with change then if her reaction is any indication. In closing, while yes these past few situations have been annoying to me, enough so to post this, this isn't a 'woe with me' blog. Not the point nor my style. I am simply trying to vent and perhaps understand what I clearly need to do different. No more and no less.

Since that's not what I said, no I can't. Plus once you establish what I did say you don't seem to be net incompetent, you can use Google to find these articles just as well as I can.

Boot from a Ubuntu Live disco and then find your files, they should be there. Why you folks are hell bent on using linux for a windows issue is beyond me. How about send him to a win32 boot disk that does the SAME thing so you don't have to confuse the guy any more by using another OS? Linux peeps trying to ram it down our throats every chance they get... Here is a windows util boot disk: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/news.html or a more bare bones iso http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ hope that helps

Obsidian Future Game Rumors on the net
TheHarlequin replied to One_Hot_Chick's topic in Obsidian General
Anything Victorian sucks. Victorian Goth(ic) rules for the most part. -
On paper the setting in this context means little. You could have it set in the wastelands centered in kenya and prob make the game work. My only point I am trying to get across is does he want to appeal to a wider audience or not. If not then my views are moot. If he does then I think he is shooting himself in the foot. As for your example how many people in north america have NOT heard of japan, samurai or the like? Now many of those same gamers could go into detail about some Scandinavian town, history or/and culture? That is my point.

> Yep, we actually plan to introduce survival elements. Here are something starting points: 'Survival elements' is what FO3 has and far from what I was referring to about my points in a setting placed in nuclear winter. Again the impression I am left with after you skirting my comments is using a setting in a very unrealistic way. Clearly you have done little to no research about the effects of nuclear war/winter and survival in such. > As Morrissey said: America is not the world. Correct no, However minus north america and japan and you are left with scraps for a target audience if you alienate them. No offense to our European friends but of the statistics I have seen that is the nucleus of the gaming world. > you don't really care to appeal to the largest target audience anyway. That's all you needed to say, you don't care about appealing to a wider audience or those in north america. Fair enough. > Our lead mechanics designer comes from the US, another important writer on the team is from there as well; both are fine with the setting. Clearly they have done a lot of research then on sociology, trends and statistics of gaming and have experience on game development then. My bad for assuming since they are drinking your cool-aid they wouldn't be the most impartial or educated views. > That sounds a bit ignorant. There certainly is some ignorance being posted here, I'll grant you that much. > Of course we care about US players, actually we care about all players regardless where they are from. ermm.. well do you or don't you? Your above comment seems to contradict this. > But if you follow your logic, Fallout would have been just popular in NA. If you look into the facts, you'll see that Fallout is quite popular in Germany, Poland and especially Russia. So why would a PA game set in Europe scare away the NA audience while it didn't happen for Fallout the other way round? I really do not have the interest to invest in this topic to the degree it would take to properly answer this. However suffice it to say those gamers in Germany, Russia and Poland know about California and DC much more so then asking someone in north America to feel a association with some town in Scandinavia they have never heard of. If you can't see that very simple point and flaw in your logic then, to me, that raises red flags. Like I said I hope for the best but expect this to end up vaporware.

If you got a bunch of 'bad block' errors then the hdd is failing/dying. Cut your losses and just go get a new hdd. If it was some other error then do a windows repair and cross your fingers.

Ahh they changed his backstory then from TOS canon it seems. Interesting.

World of Darkness Online News now live!
TheHarlequin replied to Rhomal's topic in Computer and Console
No such thing as 'no chance' in our universe. Some things are simply more probable then others. And while that is probably what he was implying until we get a factual dev quote or data showing such its really just opinion at this point. My only point was the fact nothing has been said that has eliminated any possibilities. But again, some of the assumptions are more probable then others. -

While not confirmed either way is pretty much assumed by the community they are not going to use a setting they killed off 4 yrs ago. However a comment was also made by one of the WW folk that not to expect a exact translation of the PnP version to the MMO version. This does leave some hope that they may actually create a hybrid version, though granted that is probably a slim chance. But it does leave the door open for them not to be chained down by the PnP rules which IMO is a good thing. I have it on good word it is going to be a M rated game for whatever that is worth to you. And they are called bloodlines, yes ventrue in the new version are most susceptible to mental disorders. Thus one of their bloodlines is the malkavian. -
If you lived closer I'd give you a copy of my xp pro corp edition (does not need to be activated). when you boot off the cd there will be a option to repair... its a crap shoot.. works prob 33 to 50% of the time. if after it does the repair and xp is still hosed then really your only bet is a wipe/reinstall unless you know how to fix the inner guts of the OS manually. Either case the cd will get you in and yes you can run chkdsk c: /f
