I'd rather if you didn't associate my complaint with your unending crusade, actually. IMO the AI is quite good, though it could do some things better. A normal death, actually, though I'm in the habit of quickloading before the death message comes up, so maybe not. I'm about to go back and try reloading, and also clearing out all the mods, etc. Bioforums suggests that it's usually a toolset / mod related issue. A. No idea who you are or even why you think I am reffering to you. B. It's not all about you. C. My only 'crusade' is I want some decent party AI that I don't have to baby sit (which apparently baby sitting your party is now called a 'tactical game' is seems). I don't think thats asking a lot.

Unlike what certain fan boy here say, the party AI needs some serious polish. Sorry to hear of your ills.

If you got dlc do those first, shale and then the warden castle. THEN do magi tower, forest, redcliff/haven and then ozzy. Even though in theory you are suppoded to do them in any order reality is does not work as such, unless you want a lot of headaches and TPW's.

Given that the evolution of Klingons has always in some way mirrored historical cultures and civilizations (from totalitarian regimes to tribal-esque warrior race), it's not surprising that the source material is similar. The similarities you depicted could just as easily make references to the various Indo-European cultures that employed a Caste system. I'm guessing much of what has influenced the current culture of Klingons, was used to influence the creation of Dragon Age's dwarves. Given the rest of the game sports civilizations that seem inspired by dark ages Europe, it seemed to me that the Dwarves continued the same thing. Caste systems with honor and military acumen being highly valued are common in history. Houses having leaders? Might as well accuse it of ripping off Dune. The Dwarves do seem awfully Harkkonen, now that I think about it. Though perhaps less outright evil. The Klingon culture isn't simply made up. The only good argument you really have is probably the political infighting and arena fighting. EDIT: Haha, I swear that I had not seen the other Dune reference prior to posting this. Note I NEVER said the klingons were 'orginial' nor did I dispute the view there are other references one could use and see simularities of the DA dwarves. However I used klingons as a. Im a geek like that and it was the first 'reference' to come to mind (not excluding or implying there were not possible others) and b. klingons are prob the most modern/recent fictional creation using all these variables thus (that I recall), again, first thing to come to mind. If you really want to know where klingons came from i'd suggest looking at interviews with RDM as I am sure he talked about his inspirations at some point when he designed their culture. None the less I see no one saying I am in error or that is not possible they did, simply that other souces could have been drawn from. And I do not dispute that. However the flip side is no one can claim the klingons wern't either considering the simularities such as I listed. Either case is just as probable is my point. I simply prefer to lean to the klingons source is all.

Well, I thought it would be all "dark, gritty and mature" because of the whole zomg elf slavery /zomg thing, but so far it's been kinda lame and predictable. I guess I'll play a dwarf next. As for overly foreshadowing and being predictable nothing, writing wise, is diferent at Bioware on that level since NWN1. So you're saying that NWN1 was good? Paging Volo... No I am saying Biowares massive foreshadowing and, mostly, predictiable writing hasn't much changed since NWN1. Last game they tossed me for a loop writting wise was BG2.

DA DLC has generated over $1 million for EA since the DA launch. Also EA stated DA has a lifespan of 1 year. Interesting comment. Does that mean all support for DA ends, not just making new DLC, a year from now? Confused about Leliana. I bedded morg and when she started getting all psycho on me dumped her for Leliana. I got lil to 100 rated labeled as 'love'. She has not made a move on my pc and won't let me make a move on her. soooo... is morg the easy girl and Leliana the overly hard to get girl? I am just confused as to the point so far of a 'romance' with Leliana. At least with morg if I wanted to get involved with her drama the relationship was clearly going somewhere at least. If you do change out your mobo then call the MS activation center and they will reset your serial # to your new mobo. OR after 6 months your serial gets reset automaticly anyways. Either case issue resolved.

Damn, I just realised something: my creative Zen drivers/software might not work with WINE. That might be a good enough reason not to switch I'll have to find out. Also, you can get W7 for pretty cheap if not free if you are a student or better an IT student. As for drivers, I was speaking generally, but it would be a good idea to see if all the drivers you're going to need are available for 64 bit or at all, for that matter. Agreed. Windows 7 is superior to XP and vastly better then Vista. I skipped vista myself and love W7. It runs super smooth and all my games runs flawlessly. (FO3, DA, HoMM5, Civ4 for example). There is no reason for the headaches of linux when w7 is the clear choice and superior product. Of course if you want to setup a cheap server then sure go linux. Otherwise it does not come close to the functionality, east of use and software library of windows7. (That is of course you are not looking for 90 different text editors then yes linux is your thing) I backed up my files and it took w7 about 20 mins to install from a clean drive. Didn't need to use a driver disk for anything and what it couldn't find on the DVD it downloaded drivers from the MS site automaticly. Install was very painless. I see no reason not to pay MS for a GOOD product. vista wasnt and I held back and let me wallet do the talking. But W7 is far superior. Like going from w98 to XP. Its that big of a difference. (Not that XP was unstable like 98 but making the point the improvments are about the same of xp to w7)

More then I am complaining about this. So it does not run for 'everyone else' fine. See the official forums and other posts here. To answer your question however, are the VARIABLES the same? No. Clearly you never programmed before. Thus why it could be working fine for you but not others. Perhaps the bug in the code is related to only certain NPCs or certain events or so on. Anyways if you never worte a line of code in your life then you speaking out of ignorance. If you have then you clearly were not very good at it or understood the concepts of said topic. Either way its very possible with todays programs to have it work fine for one person and not another depending on how that use it. No matter its clearly a bug.

Clearly MY fault the AI does not run the tactics slots I set. Isn't this akin to saying well the car I bought works fine, so clearly no other car from that dealer will ever have a problem. Open your eyes kid.

You sure about that? Perhaps I read that wrong. Either way Alister did chase a NPC down across the map, and triggered another group of spawns which I was in no shape to deal with and yes at THAT time he was set to defensive. Pretty annoying. but the chasing down part certainly does not happen very much compaired to the not drinking pots when the damn tactics clearly tells them too. I can deal with the occasional running away from the main PC but not drinking pots is just a death blow with most of the fights. I SHOULDN'T need to hand hold them (at least for this) if I have the #1/2 slots for pots.

What slot is the tactic in? What tactic are you using to prevent them from chasing a mob exactly? heal pots are in #1, mana pots for the mages #2. And morg still refuses to use mana pots 50% of the time unless I hand hold her. defensive/default. According to both descripts the NPCs are supposed to stay by the main char and not run down enemies. Epic fail for the AI sadly.
