Christ, DragonEffect indeed. Looks like a bad Hollywood film.

Well, I was only able to eat my onion bhaji before filling up, so I now have roti, vindaloo, and rice all waiting for some time tomorrow. I would have eaten the full meal, but there was a rather funny incident at Indian restaurant I ordered take out from - there was some confusion in the kitchen in which they made a garlic naan that no one had actually ordered, so they gave it to me while I waited for my food. It was a large garlic naan, and by the time the food was done I was almost full (I don't have a very big appetite). Ah well, I'll probably go back to the place again, they're very friendly. They also make the curry nice and hot.

What are you eating right now? I'm enjoying some onion bhaji.

The Iraq war was a disgrace, but sometimes we forget just how much

This does appear to be a good motto for yourself. Bravo!    When has LoF ever flat-out denied an atrocity by communist Russia, or refused to believe the the atrocity was bad? No, really, I'm curious - I've seen him rationalize atrocities, sure, but never deny them. -
They can't change it now, not after how superb the setting was for the first three films. That would be a nightmare.

The quality of video games has declined over the past 10 years.

Good thing I am an outcast then... Agreed. Only CoD game I've ever bought was CoD4 (which I still occasionally play, because it's a fairly good game), and I haven't played Halo since the original. -

I'm sure I read XP is the primary OS for Steam users somewhere in the last month or two. If this is factual then it's truly absurd. Fair enough game companies don't want to bother with anything earlier than the prior OS, in this case XP, Win95, Windows 3.1, DOS etc but XP's still so mainstream it has to be aimed for. Maybe when XP users migrate to 7, Vista and XP can be dropped from the system requirements but not yet. Other than DX10/11 and the ability to use more than 3gigs of RAM (which no recent games require, to be honest), what's the point of upgrading? XP works fine. -

Releasing a game without XP support would be damning yourself to failure. I still use XP, and I know a whole load of other people do, too. -
Formal fallacy, affirming the consequent That wasn't a fallacy, he wasn't implying that the latter logically followed from the former. It was just a statement. It was a fallacy because it assumes that DA1=DA2 which is not true. No, he used the term likely. Likely still assumes similitude which DA2 has none to DA1 and that is the reason which has alienated most of us away from it. There was no logical fallacy in his post. It may have been incorrect (really, none of us are in the position to judge at the moment), but there was no fallacy.

This is, sadly, 100% true.

Molten Core - Baron Geddon was worse than Shazzrah. Zul'Gurub - Jin'Do was ****ing horrific.

Steam Cloud and Nvidia Driver issues. Anyone up for some more conspiracy disscusion Have yet to deal with any hickups with my Radeon HD 5770. What the **** is wrong with a 9800gt? Great card for the price honestly. Isn't it just an 8800 g92 with more compatibility issues? I love my 8800 gts g92. Has worked great for three years.

Very close to knowing all the guitar leads for the first half of the song. Second half will be more difficult, I'm sure.

Under the right circumstances you can get "The Perfect Blight"! Saw that Gamersgate have preorders for a "complete" Dragon Age (origins + awakening + most of the dlc). Was tempted mostly for Awakening. Then I remembered the guy with the "Buy me" neon sign over his head in my camp and decided against it. Still keeping an eye on DA2 previews etc. as you never know, a pleasant surprise might pop up some day. I would have sworn I wouldn't touch ME2 after ME, so my mind isn't set in stone about it. They are currently not doing a good job of it however Glad to see I'm not the only one unwilling to put up with this DLC nonsense.

You know, sometimes the simple songs are the best. There's something truly brilliant about a verse riff that's so simple yet so amazingly good at the same time.

No one's going to argue with that. Obama receiving the peace price was a gigantic ****ing joke.

The cover not working wasn't even a real bug, it was just a rather poor design choice. It is rather frustrating that no major reviewers are willing to call BioWare games out for the same things for which they so happily bashed AP. At least Yahtzee liked it, which is more than can be said for either Mass Effect game.

Nothing will ever top the original WoW intro. There's something really beautiful about it which I can't quite pin down. I miss vanilla WoW, to be honest. It lost a lot of its charm with all the expansions.
-
Also, the song is Shadows of Iga, not The King is Dead as the title would have you believe.
-
And even then he still harps on how the game is supposedly "broken," and has some gargantuan amount of bugs that somehow I never encountered.

You're dead inside Oblarg. Nothing bad with that. But you're dead inside. I even went to go see them live with a friend, but our tickets were partially destroyed when it poured rain on us and thus the **** running the venue wouldn't let us get to our actual seats, so we had to stand on the lawn. On top of that, Dream Theater opened for them, and all *that* accomplished was making me really wish I was back a few months earlier in the front row in a small venue seeing Fates Warning again (what a fantastic show that was, and the tickets were cheaper!). Overall, they weren't bad, but they certainly weren't deserving of the massive amounts of praise that they get.

Trying once again to get into Iron Maiden, so I'm going to give Seventh Son of a Seventh Son a full listen. I don't know, I've never been able to see why Maiden is such a popular band. Yeah, they were an important influence, but I can think of so many 80s metal albums which outshine everything I've heard by them.

That's the last game I buy from Obsidian...

Do you think it's best to assume that because you didn't like a game it must therefore be unfinished or fundamentally flawed?
