  1. The Mako isn't great but it isn't everything either... It's not so much bad level design, as a badly implemented vehicle,
  2. It looks like poo, but it plays pretty well.
  3. They called Chris Healy of Criterion - Black fame in to do the weapons... They're awesome, even if the games script and characters are a bunch of flaming ****muppets.
  4. I think the reason DS9 was loved was because it wasn't mainly finding new life and making peace. the Federation got into a war with another group during several of the seasons and showed a more military side to the feds. I don't think Trek would make a very good RPG because you don't exactly have true free agents running around in the TNG era. Well you do but non in the sense of "heavily armed" agents. The standards of RPGs (western and japanese) just don't conform very well to Trek because there is no morality or rag tag group of well meaning adventerurs who save the day... everything is done for the states benefit, so it wouldn't make sense to limit a player about what equipment he could requisition, and you couldn't very well have morality play any form of role because there's only "Us" and "them" really... Agreed, that's another reason I think B5 would be better suited to an RPG. You have lots of "free agents" and mercenaries roaming around. Some sell information or drugs (dust) or weapons. Rangers could fit in the "free agent" category, especially on cover. Even Psi Cops operating similarly. Lita was a "free agent" even on B5 for most of seasons 4 and 5 as a telepath. There's lots of room in that environment to choose factions and play them to suit your character. Plus the tactics and physics are just more realistic. Tech matters, but not so much that it can't be overwhelmed by numbers. Fighters and mixed assault craft actually work and work together. The battles in B5 were always stunning displays, especially in seasons 3 and 4. Yeah, Babylon 5 would be perfect for an RPG. http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/home/ser...php?qsSeries=11
  5. You go to see a comedy and complain when people laugh... Strange. VERY strange.
  6. In the case of bethesda, I think releasing the tools so the fan community can improve the experience IS the idea. It's very much a philosophy of, it's the players game. Bethesda just iterate the design to a point they feel it is fun... Everyone has a different idea of what is fun. Bethesda atleast facilitate this.
  7. While I like the setting. The 1 gazillion d6 die you need to play is anal.
  8. You DID know that turning V-Sync off makes it pretty ok, right? (The game was still a borefest, though...) Turning off V-Sync did indeed solve the problem with the mouse, but at least on my system it turned on the horrible, horrible screen tearing. Funny that, I always turn it off and never get any tearing. What causes it anyway? i never experienced it aswell, but if i am correct it can happen if you have very powerful machine and you get ****loads of FPS (200+) on your 60Mhz LCD... Dont hit me if i am wrong It's basically the screen is half way through being drawn when its displayed, the screen shows 60 frames per second, v-sync locks this, essencially slowing the rendering. Technically anything over 60fps on a 60hz monitor will lead to tearing.
  9. Proof of your lack of taste.
  10. Oh it is, this thread could go down hill very quickly.
  11. I work with a couple of folks who worked on JC 1 + 2... Quiet Swedes, and that's all I have to say about that.
  12. All the movies are Bink compressed I believe.
  13. With that logic, Rapelay is perfectly, okay! Infact it's not even offensive... Is Henti not pornographic? Is blowing off heads with a shotgun OK? *SIGH* YES! I've opened a big can of worms and poured them all over the table haven't I.

  16. Works both ways, really good games not selling at all because of reviews.
  17. The developers don't call Guild Wars an MMO. The technology doesn't function like an MMO. There is nothing Massively Multiplayer about Guild wars. EOF.
  18. I SIGH AT YOUR FACE! And you're wrong, GRID is the first racing game I have ever been able to stomach.
  19. You also have no sense of humour.
  20. You're overpaid and tight fisted! www.givemoniestopoordevelopers.com
  21. MMO's What can I really say about it, I've played alot of them. I've watched the genre mature(HA! Comedy, as a formula it ain't changed that much). That said I have a couple on the burner in an attempt to loose my social life (as rediculious as that sounds it's actually true, social life is far too expensive ). Currently Playing: I'm actually a returning player to these. Everquest 2 Lord of the Rings Online Have Played: Meridian 59 Ultima Online Mankind Everquest Dark Age of Camelot Neocron (really really awful) Anarchy Online Age of Conan I don't count Guild wars and Diablo to be MMO's, online games sure, but MMO's no... They don't actually work.
