  1. Jesus Christ. I did not say perfect or total equality. I said it takes away the motivation to improve oneself because if one works hard all his or her life to gain wealth that wealth would be taken away from the person and his or her family in order to be redistributed.
  2. However the problem with socialism and communism is the lack of motivation to improve one's self and one';s family. In socialism and communism one can work hard all his or her life, make the right decisions, and by the end have nothing to show for it. Under capitalism a person can work hard all his or her life, make the right decisions on saving money and investing, and towards the end live comfortably and know his or her family will be taken care of by their hard work. Without that motivation under socialism there is no reason to excel in anything. No reason to be innovative. No reward for being exceptional. That is where Communism fails.
  3. And I shall explode, destroying your popmobile and you because I always wear a vest explosive with a dead deadman trigger. Just in case. HA! AND DOUBLE HA!
  4. Because religion, as a whole, has done more harm than good. 1 good act does not counter 1000s of misdeeds.
  5. I prefer a total random and chaotic universe.
  6. I think the state that is fiscally conservative but socially liberal would last the longest.
  7. Terrorists are a strategic threat against the US. Homegrown terrorists like Timothy McVeigh are just as dangerous as the imported ones.
  8. I do think that the best course of action is to break up this nation into smaller nation states because of all the partisanship within our state and federal governments. Too many conflicting ideologies is breaking this country apart. You have those are Pro-Life. You have those who are Pro-CHoice. You have those who wants fully socialized healthcare system, with those on the other end of the spectrum. We have those who think that gays should have full rights, and those who wants to keep treating them as second class citizens. There are those who think that a strong centralized government is best while others think that the individual states should have more power. ANd so forth and so on. The United States is going schizo and maybe breaking itup based on ideological grounds will bring back some sanity.
  9. LoF we are animals. The point of human existence can be summed up as this. We consume. We fornicate. We kill. We defecate. Everything else is just details.
  10. Yep, Mother Theresa was a downright bastard. Those church soup kitchens in my neighborhood are also clearly a breeding ground for horribleness. For 1 Mother Theresa in a religion there are at least 10,000 Rev. Phelps and Pat Robertsons.
  11. All politicians lie. Its how the game is played.
  12. Judge a religion's worth by all of its members and history, DN. Personally, I think all the Abrahamic Religions have shown themselves to downright vicious and cruel over the course of history.
  13. Why are communist dictators afraid of civil rights? Because all leaders are afraid of civil rights. Barack Obama is afraid of civil rights? I think you are quite wrong on this.
  14. I would rather assault Hell. Think of all the mining rights and natural resources that could be had. Also we could free all the tortured souls. Be considered a hero and gain wealth and power. A win/win situation.
  15. I am not an atheist, Lord of Flies.
  16. I guess we should blame Canada then?
  17. Religion. Religious differences and ideology is one of the key factors in human conflict. Religion is often used as justification for the killing and torturing of "nonbelievers." Then again, I freely admit I'm biased against religion so take it with a grain of Lot's wife.
  18. You still haven't answered my questions, LoF.
  19. I am itching towards D2D when I get my new system. It is only going to be an Athlon Phenom II X2 but it should suffice.
  20. My roommate got Dragon Age from Direct2Drive. It was the more expensive version. The problem with getting physical copies is that even in a town over 50,000 people there are fewer outlets for PC games. Even Gamestop has a token shelf space nowadays.
  21. By the 16th of this month I will be getting a new computer for gaming. I have been itching to move away from the console side so I figure it is time to go back to my roots. However I have notice a certain trend in PC gaming that there is more emphasis on digital distribution than the usual store bought titles. The first game I will be getting for the new system will be Dragon Age but I have to ask what sites would be considered the most reputable. I heard about Steam and a friend uhas used Direct2Drive successfully. I am just curious which one is considered better, or if there is a better site than those two.
  22. Hmmm... Billie Piper...
  23. Be warned. A friend of mine got one from Best Buy and it bricked on him within 2 days. He got a replacement and it bricked on him in 3. I He returned it and decided just get his money back.
  24. I have read an article in the local newspaper today that Communist government of China is going out of their way to make life miserable for the civil rights lawyers in their country. These are people who seek to have their clients be treated equally and fairly in regard to basic human rights. I have to ask why is Communists so afraid of people having basic civil liberties? Unlike the US where you can voice an opinion against the government or be part of a religious organization, the Communists of China are afraid of giving such freedoms to their own people. Why is that Lord of Flies? Why are communists afraid of freedom and basic human rights?
  25. Yeah, then got himself killed. In another forum we were having a debate about gun control and several of the buggers there think it would be a good idea to have everyone packing a gun. I could just imagine what would happen if everyone near the shootout had a gun. It would have been a free for all with a lot more dead.
