I don`t get it too, but not because of that idea, since there are a lot of common posters on both boards. These days sometimes it`s easier to find someone lauding BG2 than any Troika game or any independent CRPG... But if many more would move there the balance would colapse and things could get ugly soon, that

Don`t take that seriously, BIS was thinking about doing an encounter in Van Buren where both BIS and Troika would battle to death to see who was better, they were making this type of jokes all the time. Both places had pretty competitive people, but more to the point of making jokes at eachother than anything else. Having said that there were and there is bad blood between Troika members and former Interplay members, but that`s in individual terms, it always happen with a few people you`ve worked in the past, the ingame jokes are exactly that, jokes and teasing from each side, nothing else.

Recruit a titlist Sounds interesting, where can i reruit that TITLIST?

... What?... Look Interplay lost D&D games for the PC because they had to pay for both PC and console rights, and they decided to go console, cancelling Project Jefferson. Then they lost the rights to the consoles too, they lost it in the courts. Atari wanted everything D&D related, WoTC gave up on Iplay, end of story. On IWD3 yeah good idea, why not. It will be a slam dunk for sure. Must be made in three monts though.

No Kharn you could say that of the Weimar republic times Berlin, wich was the sex capital of the world, a very colorfull place, that i still wouldn`t fit very well, since i can`t speak german (like Mistress Lair, not that the place is the sex capital of the world ) But wit nazi germany your interests were at stake too, so you have to do something about it ( like on the Interplay and BIS boards, where what happened there had repercussions in things that interested us, not that i`m saying Herve is a nazi, no, just a bit dumb maybe? ) :D But go ahead, criticise at will, even if the result will be the same as when we read at Mistress Lair or DAC that NMA sucks, meaning nothing happens, we just get on with our lives. That`s the message i was trying to say, sorry if it wasn`t clear. I still think we should party though

All the places you`ve talked about are virtual clubs, that have their own written rules and costumes, and fill particular needs, targetting specific crowds. Some do it better than others, there are clubs where`s easier to get in than others, and the interests can be very diferent, as also the community dynamics that evolve. So i`m not going to enter in a judgement game on it, i`ll just say i like Role Player even if i can`t stand Saramago, i like Kharn although i think Fight Club is overrated, i like Stillife even if i disagree with almost everything he says about games, and i have a devastating crush...er i mean i like Missy even if she likes Shadowpaladin. I started going to NMA and the old Iplay boards because i was interested in the Fallout games, that were my company in long nights without sleep when my kid was sick. I feel now that the spirit of curiosity and openess, and beeing conscious of the existence of many things more important than games at that time is the way to go. There are more important things out of this room, away from this monitor, i hope i don`t loose track of that . And for that i`ll have to accept the diferences in all those boards, the fact that they serve diferent groups, choosing diferent aproaches, and use them accordingly. <3 Kharn <3 Missy Having said that i operate that way as an individual, but there`s also the burden of common responsability, of defending what one sees as ideas or actions needed to help those that are close to you, beeing in the real or virtual world (but what is reality?...), so you`ll see me grumpy a few times, don`t worry But in this case there`s no need in beeing grumpy about things that are diferent, no matter how exasperating they seem to be. Let`s party instead B)

Kotor2 mentioned at IGN.com

Listen to Dhruin guys, he makes lots of sense. ToEE met expectations, it sold better than what it probably deserves, and it didn`t bother Atari, the problem that caused Atari earnings to go to red in the end of 2003 was the failure of D&D Heroes for the consoles, it really bombed. -

Relations with Interplay- Fallout, Baldur's Gate
Briosafreak replied to Zorrelak's topic in Obsidian General
Yes, that`s the "broader deal" i talk about in another post. The thing is after -the closing of the development branch of Titus -the problems with Titus japan -Avalon money, including the deal with Akklaim to FOBOS and BGDA2 goes to the creditors, since it`s pratically bankrupt -Titus is beeing run by a french bank -after complaints from Reflexive that they were tricked by Iplay more than once -after Snowblind beeing less than happy with Iplay -with former BIS members explaining how Herve told them Iplay had a new strategic partner that would bring loads of cash, and then sign a new deal with Vivendi "forgetting" to explain what went wrong to the same BIS and Iplay staff members -after beeing ridicularized in so many websites and major mags like PCGamer USA -after writing in the quarter report you quote that they weren`t sure if they could pay salaries after January this year - and after calling off direct payements to staff, using checks to pay the salaries (wich in a few cases even bounced back) i do think that even if they do have the money, no one will trust them at this point. But well let them try, i won`t wish them good luck though, just don`t care much really. -
Relations with Interplay- Fallout, Baldur's Gate
Briosafreak replied to Zorrelak's topic in Obsidian General
Zorrelack please don`t take this personally, it`s not an attack on you in any way but let me just say this: MUUUAAAHHHAAHHHAAMMUUUUUAAAHHHHHAAHHHHHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry i had to take this out of my system, again nothing personal. -
They decided to study if they should sell the rights for pcgames based on the Fallout license or even for a broader deal in December actually, for the first time in all these years. Having said that This is true, so no need to dwell on this issue for now, just wait a few months. And let the Obsidian guys do their thing.

And i`m seeing a lot of people from NMA, Bioware fanboys and even from the Fall community, this is going to be interesting... @Situationist: It`s a bait i placed to see if it`s true, don`t tell them anything ok

Hello everyone. Bye everyone.

Exitium you`re an ass. This place is too strange, a melting pot with people from the Iplay boards, DAC and the Codex that hate eachother, an explosive mix. Anyway hope that things get sorted, if Obsidian is making or preparing for the future a new game, other than KOTOR2, i`ll show up, if not no biggie, best of luck for all the guys, specially MCA and Jeff Husges.
