  1. The deficit plan has bipartisan support, the only thing needed is some courage from the politicians: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0311/51864.html
  2. The Codex' main function is to provide a Hate Vortex from which MCA can feed off of, so it does provide a valuable service to the gaming public. Here is the link to the original article: http://www.killerbetties.com/killer_women_...pler?page=0%2C3 Well, she might have a point if you consider that movies made for women are unwatchable for men, at least not without a barf bag.
  3. Because being branded a "hater" is an easy way for people to shove your opinions aside. Slamming the game for being mediocre is much harder to disprove or argue. And it probably is mediocre, because Bioware does have a sort of quality assurance and isn't likely to publish a truly "bad" product if you're judging by the generally low standards of the gaming industry. DAO was already little better than mediocre, so if DA2 is significantly worse, it would have to be bad. I thought we wanted reviewers to give their honest opinions. As far as Bio QA, the uncharted worlds in ME were the worse thing I've ever seen in a game. I couldn't believe Bioware or any professional developer would stoop that low, but here we are. Edit: MC, why don't you just provide a link, that place is scary to search.
  4. Depends on his grading scale, if 5 means average, 2.5 would mean bad, 0 would be completely unplayable. Besides, he really hates the game, why say it's just mediocre?
  5. Demo can put off as many people as it attracts, especially for an RPG where you don't really have time to figure everything out before the demo ends. Might be a good idea to release it a couple of weeks after the game comes out though.
  6. Wow. I mean... wow. That guy blades the game to pieces. I suspect he's off the Bioware Christmas card list, and read the comments (along the lines of "about time a games reviewer stuck it to The Man"). It does seem like a very good review. Of course I have a bad case of confirmation bias.
  7. Old people are a Medicare problem, Medicare is already completely Federal, so health care reform has nothing to do with it. Medicare reform is what's needed, but that's a hell of a tough nut to crack.
  8. Apparently Crysis2 is looking swell on the 360. As usual, it's much more about software and how much work you put into it than the hardware.
  9. Two words: Black Widow
  10. Just one AC game sells 8 million copies, to say nothing of the entire franchise. There's no RPG that sells anything like that, so basically they can't afford it. Plus the RPG developers (and there're only a few) just happen to be not that good with graphics and stuff. We'll see about DS3. I'm not sure I buy that fully. The Hitman game had huge crowd tech. and I don't think those sell way more than a Bioware game. Plus they had no way of knowing AC would be a huge hit, it was a gamble and a new IP. Maybe an RPG could sell numbers like that if they made their games look like AC. I buy the limited resources argument a bit more. I get that an RPG needs to focus on different things than an action game, but since DA2 has clearly been 'action-ized' to appeal to a wider audience, it would be nice if we got some of the best parts of being an action game as well. They wouldn't know for sure AC would be a hit, but it was definitely planned as a big budget IP by Ubisoft, who has that kind of money to throw around. So they chose the genre they thought would have the widest appeal, and it sure ain't RPG's, as Boo said.
  11. I'm concerned they're promising too much. Branching paths with modern presentation is expensive to implement, plus the team has 0 track record. Will wait for reviews and forum feedback before I get it.
  12. I knew it, the government is out to kill grandma!
  13. Because it's an open world game, and there are very few of those, at least ones anyone plays.

  15. IMO they had no choice because of the time frame given to them by their task master. Now they're lying about it. It's not like I didn't complain enough about that in ME on DAO forums.
  16. The simple solution to that is not to buy Biocrap. There all kinds of other benefits to that as well.
  17. Oh, OK, I think I did read that letter, I just didn't understand it had to do with Bhelen, or at least not how it would motivate him. So it's pretty much what I suspected, with dwarf origin you know what's going on but otherwise the info isn't available for the most part.
  18. I want to know where you guys are getting all that info. Bhelen in love with a low caste woman? What? It sounds like somehow I missed a major part of the story, but except not going back to the Shaper, I still have no idea how.
  19. Unless that's all part of the dwarf origin, I guess I missed all of that somehow. I wasn't even able to get into the Senate chamber until the very end as I recall.
  20. And if you talked to the Shaper, he reveals that the documents are forged. Is the Shaper the guy in the library? I never asked him about that. Yes, how is it possible they wouldn't recognize the forgery since I showed them both the same documents?
  21. Actually, that was Bhelen lying to you again. The documents were forged. That's the kind of problem I had with the quest. You find out more about the fact that Bhelen is a jackwad and that Harrowmont is a nice guy than you find out about how good or bad they'll be for Orzammar. Which you only get hints at. No, because I talked to the people Harrowmont made the promises to, and they both confirmed they were promised the same property. Anyway, by then you have to keep working for Bhelen regardless, which is another thing that sucks. I think you can still switch sides at the very end.
  22. Congress has the power to declare war, but the President as the Commander in Chief has the constitutional power to deploy the armed forces as he sees fit. Further, Congress has the power to cut off funding for any military operation, this is not in dispute.
  23. Yes, I talked to the merchants, I didn't think it was near enough. There were rumours about Bhelen being a murderer, but I didn't find any way to investigate them. Further, one of the quests proved Harrowmont was dishonest, but you had to side with Bhelen first to even get the quest. In the end Bhelen seemed a brutal tyrant that I enabled, but I didn't feel the game gave me enough info to be fair.
  24. If you're claiming I'm wrong, it's common courtesy to explain why. But since you won't trouble yourself, I'm just going to continue regarding your posts as unsubstantiated trolling. Sorry I tried to have a discussion with you in the first place.
  25. You claim what I said was wrong, at least you can explain why you're saying that.
