Yeah anyone who's been to an American Legion knows that they're a pack of old white drunken racists. What's pathetic here is that the American "Left" (lol) didn't seem to grasp the full extent of the rotten underbelly until it took a Donald Trump election victory, and even then they decided to blame it on Russia and workers (two very easy, convenient and vulnerable targets) rather than accept the fact that a good healthy portion of the population are stupid far right bigots.

I avoid Launch like the plague because it does make the game a little 'Meh', my last build was centered on Pierce, Grip, Shield, and Levitate (armored floating sniper lolol) and that was pretty fun. Game is like Witcher 3 where the base game is pretty simple but once you hit the expansions the difficulty jumps quite a bit, which could be regarded as a plus I suppose. -
I'll be the pessimist and share this... https://gamerant.com/avowed-e3-2021-might-not-show/ The only good news taken from that article is that Elden Ring might show at the Summer Game Fest (Not E3) so my previous post... ...appears to be on the mark.

I still think the best solution is not to try to curb the private sector but to create a more robust public sector where the government controls key strategic resources and employees any citizen who wants a job. I mean we've already tried the whole "Bleed the rich and raise the wages" routine which led to stagflation which led to harsh right wing pushback manifested in the ilk of Reagan and Thatcher. Maybe we should try to redirect that energy into 21st century solutions.

Yeah I don't think I've ever seen such wide variable in pricing in such a narrow degree of performance difference in GPU history.

What you've done today - The Edge of Night

Yeah despite the claims by some circles, deep blue states are not progressive by any stretch of the imagination, they are neoliberal hellholes. I say this because a lot of poor people go out there thinking they're gonna hit some kind of progressive utopia, only to find themselves homeless or spending way too much living in some roach infested cheap motel room. Unfortunately it's far cheaper usually to live in Red States than Blue States, and Green States don't exist Anyway what did I do today? think I found the woman of my dreams -
Saved by the Queen of the Mermaids, turned me into a fish; To shield me from the Lord of Shadows dreadful wish (all these mermaids do is rhyme!) The Tree is dead, unforeseen plot twist and probably spoilers this had... Ah great, looks like I gotta topple that.

I agree with the enemies all looking kind of samey but rough around the edges?? I never got that impression, except, maybe, the skills trees being a bit unbalanced. -
There may be some truth to this, I do remember being a bored teenager when GTA III came out (I had played the prior two but this was something else!) and thinking about the quick mindless fun it would be to steal a car and go on a rampage. There's a darker side to human nature that can be triggered, and it's especially easy in a society that worships blatant corporatism, especially in those days where the $$$ dogma was unquestionable.

Made it! Found the 6 orbs scattered throughout the world so now it's time to visit "The Tree" and do something important.. Some original gangster s--t right here. C--kblocked by a creeping arch villain of course who's been trailing me

Poor in regards to dialogue choices, the protagonist does not speak and only occasionally you're offered a Yes/No question that doesn't matter either way (typical for 99% of JRPG's really). Not as Grimdark, the graphics are great but more colorful and artsy, and closer to cliche fantasy (with some nice twists, as mentioned), but definitely bigger in scope with more monsters, items, easter eggs, etc. You kinda "feel good" when you complete quests, as opposed to some Western RPG's where completing quests just feels like a necessity, more upbeat I guess you could call it. To me, crafting in NWN 2 felt kinda "tacked on" and pretty pointless as all the killer gear was found in shops or in some dank cave. I don't think Dragon Age even had crafting, did it? Crafting in Dragon Quest XI is fun and has a good amount of depth, and every time you get a new recipe you're eager to go out and craft it because you know it's going to be better than what they sell in shops and what you have currently equipped, and you get new crafting skills that help make the gear you make better (so far you can craft anywhere from standard to +3). Also you can put it in 2D mode which makes it look like a Dragon Quest released in the early 90's, which could be appealing to some. If/when I beat it I may start a new playthrough in 2D mode. There's probably much more one could add, but it's kind of difficult because yes, they are two different genres and each has their own atmosphere and chances are nostalgia and preference are the biggest factors in determining which you could like more. There's a free demo available if anyone wants to try it out, and it's quite big! I totally forgot I was playing a demo and once it finally ended it was one of the easiest "shut up and take my money" moments ever. Progress does carry over into the retail version so no need to worry about starting over again. -

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition. If you like JRPG's pick it up immediately. I mean yeah the plot is cliche a f--k but there's enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. The world design and characters are phenomenal though, and whilst the gameplay is classic Dragon Quest, crafting is done very well and even leveling up is pretty well done, as you can drop points as you see fit depending on your character. Very well done by JRPG standards. -
Carried over from the 'Playing' thread.

I only played Dragon Quest 7 back in the early 00's and it was not too shabby! I got pretty far into the game before I got lost and didn't know where to progress next. Even the music was great, I'll never forget the OST. I read somewhere that Dragon Quest is far more popular in Japan than Final Fantasy, which is viewed as the more 'Western' friendly series. That's common in Japan though, they do a great job at retaining their culture and at the same time incorporating Western stuff as well and striking a balance.

Sweden did not enforce lockdown like their neighbors did. Result: More deaths. Shocking. The article is more about Arab immigrants though and how it results in more terrorist attacks (allegedly), and I'm not touching that debate with a ten foot pole! (Mostly because I'm not Swedish and it's none of my business).
