  1. China will overtake the U.S. economy in a few years and the Republican Party will collapse or become marginalized in a few years. I say I say, come at me bros
  2. Who would have thought a Czech developer would pioneer...game soap. This new world, I tells ya..
  3. I'm expecting GRRM influence to be minimal, almost a marketing thing. He's doing the backstory but not the in game story. He probably jotted it down in a week and passed it on to From Software, then went back to [not] finishing his ASOIAF series.
  4. Scratch that, it looks like they're going full Peter Jackson and Assassin's Creed Valhalla I mean yeah it's a trailer and those are designed to appeal to a vast audience but with minimal info on mechanics there's little hype to be had there...
  5. Elaborate? My advice would be to just 'play' it and then get back with questions as you progress. It's not a typical RPG with a clearly defined plot, party, and predictable romp setup, though it is heavy on weapon styles and character stats which define the character. I don't find the series difficult the way most gamers do, but more structured around obstacles in enemy attack patterns that you have to plan for and overcome, which feels natural to me rather than just defining it as "hard", though some areas of the game can be a real pain in the neck! (Blighttown, anyone?). The plot is not clearly defined in the game, there is nobody explaining in depth what is going on in the world in a coherent manner, you have to actually check the item descriptions in the game piece it together yourself, though even then there's still holes that I think is done intentionally to leave it up to the players imagination to do the rest. Elden Ring looks to be a cross between Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel expansion with a more open world approach like Witcher 3 and Skyrim, to better elaborate from my former simple analysis.
  6. 90F all day, in New England, and it's not even summer yet, and had a surprise massive cleaning project I had to complete today out of ALL days. Uhg. Watch tomorrow it'll be 60 all day, cause that's how f'd up the weather is here, and climate change doesn't help either.
  7. I see gambling mentality has made it into games. Joy.
  8. Listen to this man, he knows. I lucked out and didn't have kids with the one I was with, if so I probably would be dead now via bullet to temple.
  9. Eh, more like Dark Souls meets Witcher 3. An experiment that I hope pays off. There's very few developers that I have utmost respect for and Miyazaki is definitely one of them. I could isolate myself from the world for eternity and have only From Software games at my disposal and I could die a reasonably happy man.
  10. Right?? I mean if you want a sex simulator they have those to, you know. Not that I would know or anything.
  11. Heh, sounds like me. Too bad realistic minded people are rare in Western world (well, at least on the surface). Also, am already seeing scattered 'Trump 2024' flags scattered here and there in my neighborhood. Get over it you morons, Trump lost, he's not the champion of our time, and we can do way better. Good grief.
  12. Donated a bunch of food to the local pantry, and will probably do that on a regular basis. Least I can do really, the hero of your own story is you so it's better to be more proactive in the community than waiting around.
  13. It boils down to "a government that provides employment and services to it's citizens so long as your loyal vs. a country where the government bickers about petty issues and doesn't do a damn thing for the population but can actually take some degree of criticism". The grass isn't greener on the other side, it's at an angle.
  14. I suppose it's remotely funny, especially considering "respectable" media hasn't changed much in 100+ years in bogus predictions.
  15. What I like most about Elex is the character building. It's very strategic and forces you to think about how you wanna build your character. I always focus on logistical and resource gathering skills first and put combat as second important. The world is also pretty well designed, seems like a mix between Fallout and Gothic. The factions are a little awkward, sure, and most character models look the same, also it has a very rough start even for a PB game if you can overlook its flaws it's quite an interesting experience.

  17. Sorry to break this to you but the whole China question is leeeetle bit more complex than the (tragic) Uyghur situation. You simply can't focus only on minutiae when the big picture is far bigger and more multifaceted.
  18. Nobody I know in real life waves the Flag of FREE SPEECH like a kingdom banner. It's become a niche position. Most people are gearing up for the ultimate cultural clash. Will we go right or will we go left? Simple, really.

  20. HOW YA GOONNA PAY FER IT Biden has been dishing out massive unemployment checks since he's been inaugurated and we're still doing fine, not to mention almost a 3 quarters of a TRILLION dollars on military (really dumb). I think we can manage a federal jobs program that covers those who want one, even if we have to raise taxes a little bit and maybe curb spending in other areas like, you know, bloated wasteful arms spending.
  21. ...Way to strawman, if you read my post you will see that I was actually defending the idea of leaving the private sector alone and simply adding some government jobs into the mix, and creating a more balanced economy. I don't think anyone with a properly screwed on head wants pure absolute socialism in the 21st century, where consumer goods flood the market en masse. An employment safety net by the government is sufficient.
