I played on G92 8800GTS (at 1680x1050), and Crysis could gets average 20fps. You'll feel the slowdown in heavy fight scenes although nothing serious. But i'm coming from using old pc for years which playing games means always seeing slideshows. Anyhow even with 8800GTX/Ultra SLI - at least from some tech sites review, Crysis doesn't perform as smooth as butter either. Maybe it's the SLI driver problems or optimization issues. Hell, most games probably unable to take advantage of SLI system well. I believe only the next generation card (9800) could handle Crysis well on very high resolutions.

I'm also buy a new rig after 5-6 years. The last pc i bought is when WinXP just being released, and just last month i build my latest system. On your case unless you're rich, SLI isn't a good value investment. For now either get the G92 8800GT 512MB or GTS version (cooler and queiter); or if you willing to wait for next month, nVidia would probably releasing the D8E (dual G92 in one card), or in April we would see the true next generation card G100 (Gefore 8900).

I like them. It always fascinating to read cross-cultural materials, be it serious literature or popular cultures like music and comic. Don't miss Miyazaki's works.

It turn up that the game is not solely developed by Obsidian, but "co-developed by BioWare and Obsidian Entertainment"!. Finally we see them working together again since the days of early development of NWN!?.
-
Ha ha, finally it is confirmed. There must be a pressure on KoTOR 2 team at Obsidian for some time now, to makes the sequel at least as good, if not better!.
-
The game probably will be announced during E3 (May 12-14) this year.
-
Even HL2 forums are rather quiet now. No game - nothing to talks about, unless alien landed at Obsidian's office front yard tomorrow.

I agreed most Slammy1 said: custom build instead spending money on brand, get AMD 3000+MHZ proccessor, bigger hard disk (200Gb), and ATI Radeon 9800XT (certain DirectX9 functions run better on it than nVidia). Get M-Audio Revolution 7.1 (check review at Gure of 3D), Creative sound card is okay but i heard a lot about the sucky driver.

It could be possible. However NWN is big successful title, like Diablo 2 that worth to translate into more than one OS. To ultimately make Linux as suitable gaming platform, it to be needs as good as Windows for gaming. But focus for Linux so far is for server functions, scientific research, etc.

Obsidian can't divulges detail informations unless they want to get themselves sued, or get themselves into trouble with Bioware, or get them both into trouble with publisher. That's the way how things work for long time in game industry, or else we already can see many informations regarding of many unreleased and unannounced game titles. It also related to issue of the particular game still in early stage, not much written into stone yet, and not enough information for publicity anyway.

LOL :D , how come that picture (MCA) turn out first in google search?. Maybe google indexed in its cache as the first since most people clicked that picture?. No other MCA picture?

Entertaining thread, nonetheless.

No, i dislike the spread of advertisements into other things especially games. Haven't we seen enough advertisements on internet (pop-up, pop-under, etc), when driving (roadside boards), inside super/hypermart (posters), watching TV (advertisement every 10/15 minutes), on buildings (banner), sky (flying ballons), email/mail box (endless spams). My senses were numbed to these garbage already. What next?, a speakers blaring out advertiserments when you taking a dump in toilet?...

Brand name computers always difficult to upgrade (special drivers and easily voided your warranty - like Dell or Hewlett Packard. If you want to build your own PC (DIY), or a generic brand form PC stores then it's easier to combine all kind of different components (some cause conflict and won't work). Proccessor: I believe the AMD proccessors just had another major price cut this week. So i say get one reasonable speed (3000 MHZ); or if you want something better and future proofed - get Athlon 64 FX, but they certainly not cheap. The Beta for WinXp 64 bit already showed out, but anyway the new proccessor is backward compatible with current 32 bit WinXp. Video Card: i think you should use old card from previous system first; then either next month or in April, the R420 (successor to the R350 or Radeon 9800) will be out. If you don't want to buy R420 or R423 (R423 is a PCI-Express version of the R420) because they're very expensive, go for the Radeon 9800 since they will become much cheaper by then. Hard Disk - as big as can you get. RAM - At least 1 GB, good quality if you can effort. Sound card - M-Audio Revolution 7.1, or sound blaster Audigy 2. Suggestions above are for high-end PCs. Follow mkekru's ideas for mid-range system.

Wow, Hentai genre CRPG from Obsidian: limitless non-linear quest avant-garde storyline open ended dialogs 500 NPCs (mostly cute girls) 200 hours of gameplay using latest HL2 source engine, advanced DirectX 9c, Normal mapping texture, extremely cool pixel shading effects, .....

The importance of Mood/Atmosphere
Phoenix replied to chaosprism's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Umm, that's one of the graphics styles and about coherency of graphics, still does't means realistic graphics especially in combination with realistic shadows, realistic lightings etc are obsolutely useless to conjure up certain atmosphere. -
No one supposed to beat the Sims games ^_^. At least we have one RPG title. Last year Morrowind also last quite long, total sales (PC & console) with all the expansions gone beyond 500,000, probably nearing one million or more.
