I played the Civilization Revolution (PS3) demo, and actually found it to be fun. So I thought, what the heck let's order Civ4, since I heard the series is so famous, but never really gave it a chance to play. Let's see what this fuss is all about...

I was on the fence to get a console for a while, but after Heavey Rain was announced (among other titles I always wanted to play), I knew I couldn't resist. In addition, there's often time a dry-zone for PC games, feeling like there isn't a PC game I want released for months (especially during summer), or often time gets released a half year later than the console versions. So I thought what the heck, I can afford it so why not? Anyway, I haven't regret it. It's a great piece of hardware. But I still have to play a demo of LBP before I come to a final conclusion.

I hope there will be some sort of a demo. But I don't think I'm interested in the actual game.

What is that, a Quake 2 mod?

I still wonder what this LBP is all about. Is it an action adventure, a platformer, or what? Would you describe some of the gameplay please, Lyr? It looks totally silly, but that's exactly why I'm so intrigued.

Hmm....starnge. I'm playing it with Vista too, with no issues whatsoever. Now I know that sounds silly, but just make sure to have everything updated (OS, drivers).

So, just the other day I'm suddenly recalling again that Obsidian has, besides of Alien RPG and SoZ, also AP along the pipeline, and checking the SEGA release list, they're still saying Feb. 09 as release date. That's like....4-5 months from now! And yet, I haven't seen any hands-on previews, or major media coverage, or gameplay footage, no, nothing! It's like they must have postponed the game another year and forgot to inform the public. Isn't this very untypical? I know SEGA has always been lacklustre regarding marketing buzz and stuff, but Obsidian still owns the AP property, so surely they should have some free reign to talk (and show) more infos to their fans, right? Just sayin'

I miss Gabrielle. She was always so....grouchy. But good that we've DR for replacement!

It's fun. WoWish is good, since Warcraft is a ripoff of Warhammer in the first place... But yeah, I like how it looks. Feels differently from WoW though.

I've now reached Rank 10 and entered Tier 2. So far, so good. Does anyone know where I can find transport animals? Shouldn't there be some sort of caretaker in the warcamps where I can rent/buy some flying beast? I haven't found anyone, and running long distances between the warcamps to finish quests gets tiresome...

So, got it today and played it til lvl 5. It's pretty slow in these low levels, so I hope it starts to reach some momentum once I get to higher levels. The game's pretty fun though. Public Servers are a little bit a mess, I expected some carefully designed missions that can be accomplished together, but instead the fights are only confined in small designated areas where stuff gets quickly killed. Got a nice pair of gloves though. But I hope these quests get a bit more complex down the road. What I found more intriguing are the RvR Scenarios. I only tried out one, and I died often because I was still so low level, but it was a heck of fun, plus it's a great way to get XP fast. Otherwise, the game is very solid. Technically not very impressive, and the art style is rather inconsistence, goes from "meh" to "very nice". Anyway, no big deal. On the positive side though, the installation and patching process went smoothly, and the client and servers are all very stable and fast. So far, so good. I have to play more though before I get to see the full potential of WAR.

The only way to avoid such accidents in the future is to ban all violent videogames in Finland. Really!

Man, back then when TBH (Jefferson) was still in development it was just a Baldur's Gate game in name only. Why didn't I hear there any protests?

Yes, the Prologue and Chapter 1 was rather mediocre, but it starts get a lot better from Chapter 2 and above.

I haven't followed the development of WAR very carefully, but I slightly remember that it was very long in development, even before Mythic picked it up from the Original developer. But yeah, whatever. It's Mythic, it's Warhammer, it's gonna be fun. I'll pick up my copy the next days.

There are obviously people around here who just haven't grasp the idea yet that someone can enjoy different types of games. RPG, RTS, FPS and whoopsy... MMOs! How dare I?

It's the subtleties, the way the player gets drawn into the Combine conflict, and the nice variety and overall polish that makes HL2 an outstanding shooter.
