There's an other option. Perhaps the game is really (mostly) finished, but Sega doesn't want to release it in the crowded Fall/Q1 2010 window. They're financially confident enough that they can stomach such a delay, so they release it in summer to give it more limelight time.

I'm not really sure whether it's Bio that just sucks at writing so hard. Perhaps they genuinely want (and can) to write better characters, but instead have to obey marketing that dictates what the market finds "rad" and "kewl" these days. Money first, art second. That's how Bio works. I can't really blame them though.

Dragon Age ws delayed from Feb to Nov, and it's hard to deny how much better it looks, as well as the 50 odd more quests they were able to ship the game with. That's different. DA was delayed because of the simultaneous release of the console versions. The PC version was already done in March. AP looks good. I don't get why people say it looks outdated. I doubt that's the reason for the delay.

By the time games will take full advantage of the 5870, people will already have upgrated twice again.
