  1. Yeah, I'm generally (GENERALLY) never able to watch that much at a time - my brain kind of goes numb and I stop being able to effectively absorb or sort information, . ~2-3 hours is pretty much my limit for TV/movies in a day.
  2. Yep, that is it (silly, I know!), but more pertinently...did you actually watch close to two entire seasons in just two days? You're putting me to absolute shame here, . (e): I should be able to watch a few Sailor Stars episodes tomorrow.
  3. Listened to the new Demon's Souls soundtrack this morning. The original game didn't have the greatest soundtrack or anything, but it was solid enough and had some more interesting bits interspersed with some kind of generic stuff, but the new version is shockingly bad - just loud, slow, and bombastic 'epic' re-imaginations of what were originally pretty subdued tracks that had a lot more personality. Poor Maiden Astraea in particular got butchered, who originally had a really oddball and yet very distinctive song for an actually quite sad and strange boss battle that I wouldn't have ever expected out of a Souls game. I hate it when orchestral covers just absolutely destroy how the music was supposed to sound - probably my biggest complaint with the rise of complex orchestral soundtracks in the past 15 years, so many of them are just...bland and boring. I guess if you have a sweet sound system, you can probably get your ears blown off if that's your kind of thing, but it ain't mine. I do think there have been some better ones in recent history than there were in the late 2000s/early 2010s, so I'm not writing them off completely...but it seems to take a special kind of composer to do it right, and this definitely was not one of them.
  4. That's what we have 8-8-1 for. Also, anyone want to take any bets on whether Deshaun Watson, between his seemingly massive legal problems and saying that he won't play for the Texans anyway, will or won't play this upcoming season?
  5. She compared the structure of the latest Disney movie, whose name escapes me at the moment, to Avatar: The Last Airbender's (the show, not the movie - by the way, great show if you haven't seen it...Legend of Korra, unfortunately not so much) in a sort of off-the-cuff tweet, and apparently Twitter immediately mobbed her for being racist and anti-Asian, especially when she initially refused to apologize...and then only begrudgingly did so before shutting the whole thing down because people were trying to dox her. Nothing good ever seems to come of being heavily active on social media. Yeah, I know, but you're making it so I have no time to watch it - all of my free-time is going directly towards keeping up with you! SU:
  6. So killer, they apparently don't allow Americans...or Canadians, to hear it. Typical. Had to take a quick trip over the pond to hear the song, . Literally everything about this from the trailer looks like it was made for the complete opposite of me. The humor style, the subject matter, the way the film looks...it's all the makings of a truly anti-Bartimaeus film, . And now that you mention it, I guess I don't really usually enjoy satire. I have a site that keeps track of what movies I watch and what I thought of them, and I'm going down the list of the few hundred movies I've watched over the last ~5 years, and it appears I watched...exactly two satires, and both directly on the advice of Lindsay Ellis (Blazing Saddles and The Producers; RIP her online career, by the way - cancelled for criticizing Disney, hell of a way to go). Also, while you were screwing around writing about that, I finished season 3, so take that! ...But you'll be ahead of me soon enough again, I suppose.
  7. The poster for this movie, which I've not heard of until just now, looks like this: Judging solely by this poster, this looks like a...not very good comedy-action-war movie that was generated by an AI. No, I have not seen it, .
  8. Man, what're you doing, just watching SU all day? Good lord, every time I think I'm getting close to caught up, you're another half season ahead, . I'm just gonna have to start skipping some of the less important ones...
  9. We need to start a #FreeChibiUsa campaign targeted at Naoko Takeuchi.
  10. @ArtistFormerlyKnownasKP The thing I was immediately struck by with the first few episodes of Sailor Stars is that the tone feels wildly different to me - in a good way. It's both...more lighthearted as well as appropriately serious when it needs to be (also the serious parts haven't just been characters awkwardly standing around while threatening and screaming at each other like all of the end of SuperS was), and I didn't feel this dreadful disconnect like I did with SuperS where the content is actually kind of horrifying and yet the show is playing pretty much everything for laughs like we're back in season 1 where all the villainous plots were silly schemes to steal people's energy. If they wanted to have that tone again, you could...but the content needed to be, well, not what it was, and it needed to not come at the sacrificing of character development already made in previous seasons. It also helps that a few of our main characters haven't been constantly insulting and yelling and screaming at each other...and the Albino Rhino seems to be ever so mercifully gone. In just the three episodes I watched, Usagi seems like a completely different and much more likable, intelligent, and reasonable person - much more like what I remember from my increasingly faint memories of S. Gosh, thinking about it, I really legitimately feel like I was kind of abused physically and mentally by SuperS - and that was with loads of skipping. You said Chibi-Usa saying "Twinkle Yell" every episode made you want to kill yourself? I only heard her say it literally like 2-3 times the entire season because I skipped so much...you poor bastard.
  11. Unfortunately, I can't address any of your musings. Well, I mean, I can...but, you know, I can't. I am very interested to see how you...react to an episode that's coming up very soon.
  12. Horribly busy day, didn't have time to read your post until just now.
  13. "You think we'll judge him? Remember, if there's anyone who knows about being different, it's us!" *literally 30 seconds later* "DONKEY FACE" "HORSE FACE" "ALBINO RHINO" "YETI BOY"
  14. Escape inconsistently closing sub/menus is a serious pet peeve of mine. I remember when I tried to play one of the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Editions, they made what were previously consistently closing menus in the original games no longer closable via escape. I take my keyboard shortcuts very seriously - that one little change drove me quite mad.
  15. Good point - even though we're dealing with Nehellenia again, it does feel more like an attempt of a continuation of S otherwise instead. Episode 3:
  16. Not-a-Hack-Fraud Status officially confirmed, . Episode 2 of Sailor Stars:
  17. The X-Files/Cops episode is actually pretty great, though, .
  18. Yeah...I warned you. I'm so sorry - I had one of those Dr. Phil seizures... yep, there he goes again ...when I watched that episode for the first time. Luckily, that's the only episode of the entire series that's like...that. That's what we call a """crossover""" episode - or, more pragmatically put, a network-forced advertisement for a completely unrelated show that the Crewniverse (name for the SU development team) were trying to do their best to roll with and make not completely insufferable. This is an episode I haven't seen since the first time I watched the show - I skipped it on my previous rewatch. For you, I'll rewatch it.
