I didn't feel the world wasn't plausible and I found some parts of it immersive, the story wasn't that bad. However the dialogue was poor when compared to a Bio/Obs game(much better then Oblivions though) and you left out the biggest failure of FO3, NPCs. Not one was memorable and you were lucky if you had more then 2 interactions with the same person, calling them shallow is an understatement. No, they just gave their vision of it. We just happened to enjoy BIS vision more.

You won't get any argument from me. But I tend to never view anything as set in stone. You better get that hammer out. Because it ain't going to be turn based, isometric etc.

Romance of the Three kingdoms XI and DW6:Empires. Thinking of installing IW and giving it another run through.

Aliens, Tank Girl, The Thing, etc. Ah, I see. He means violent/brutal>utopia/pleasant. I thought he was saying ST was sci-fi lite.

No your not, I enjoyed both NWN2 and MOTB, but enjoyed MOTB more, best evil path done in a game. SOZ not so much, which seems quite well recieved by the people on this board. No they just don't like anything done by Bio since BG and apparently Bethesda is a dirty word. Or Bishop, he was a great character. FO3 wasn't half as bad as folks made out, just wasn't as good as the originals. But was a big improvement over Oblivion. Personally I think most FO purists will dislike FO:NV.

Soft sci-fi? You just mean ME there right? Because if ST is soft sci-fi, what the hell would classify as hardcore?

Fixed.

Isn't that a Porn film? As long as they are better then Twilight..... It will be Carnage. As for Obsidians new game, I vote for it to be based on Jeremiah. Now that would be a game.

Actually, while this would be true for cases like, uh, pre-release Oblivion, DA's ridiculous marketing has been mocked in various places. And it is fair criticism of the marketing campiagn, but thats all it is. Most previews of the game are positive. I love how you say this in every single thread on the Codex and OBS that criticises any Bioware game for anything. I haven't bought a Bio game since KOTOR, and that was second-hand. Which is consistent with the way I tried JE / saw a lot of ME and decided it wasn't worth my money. What makes you think others are different? Many on these and the codex boards are (Obsidian/Troika/BIS)fanboys, sure some on here and the codex are more eloquent then Volourn, but are fanboys just the same. Most of there criticisms are unjustified and sound more like a PS3/360 flame war. That is what people are doing. It so happens that a significant proportion of regulars on these boards agree that they do not enjoy Bioware's latest games or are unlikely to enjoy their future games based on their direction. By throwing logically bankrupt memes like "lol u buy it anyway" and "nwn1>* fact", it is in fact your posts that do their best to contradict the spirit of your own argument. Bio goes in the direction of action rpg (ME/JE), and you and others don't like that, which is fine, but then why do you and others look forward to AP/FO:NV which are action RPGs? That is what I don't understand. I will always support both Bio/Obs because I don't see why one must exclude tthe other, unless of course either of them stop making RPGs or start making crap ones.

Again Kain wasn't a villian(once the story played out), more like an anti-hero.
-
Never played DK, as for FF:CC

MotB? Yes sort of but not completely. I think a more appropriate example would be, if in NWN2 you were the King of Shadows. I can't really think of a game where you are the main villian, even in Overlord yes you are the villian but not the main one and those you do fight, aren't exactly what I would call heroes/good. I thought Prototype might be different and for most of the game it was, , I think the reason for this is that developers believe the majority want to play the hero and they are right.

I would say its the best indie game I've ever played and by quite a large way. Waylaying caravans never gets old. You sir are a legend, thank you for pointing that out.

No not when it deserved. For the last time, its not forced. Thats her voice, now if you said you don't like her voice or that you don't think it was a fit for the character, thats different and I would agree. I'm guess the EA marketing team decided it wasn't interesting enough, they thought sex and violence will sell more. I however don't understand why they don't show something similar to origin stories or RP aspects of the game to stop people hyperventilating, because they think in 2 months the game has been completely redesigned into a Dragon Age: Virtual S*x or Dragon Age: God of Ferelden. I agree and looking forward to the sequel, which is released in 3 days.

Of the marketing campaign yes, of the DAs quality no. Now if alanschu posted and complained about the setting, story and characters etc, thats a damning testimony on qualtiy. Like or dislike this marketing promotion has been a success, for the general gaming public has taken notice. Had the marketing promo been about the 'deep story/characters' or the 'complex/tactical' combat, there would be minor whispers and the naysayers would still be saying nay. I personally tend to not put much stock in trailers and the marketing hype of a game, because its always exaggerated. 'Sheperds dead', 'Your choices will have a real meaning and have a massive effect on the outcome' blah blah blah. I mean do people honestly believe the trailer of AP will be indicative of the actual game? Or do people believe the hype that comes out of Peter Molyneux mouth? Do people believe that TOR is going to be anything like the trailer? Or that the FF trailers are anythin more then fmv sequences? I hope not otherwise there is going to be some very disappointed people.

It is Claudia Black voice, there is nothing forced about it. Watch Stargate SG1 or Farscape.
-
I would hardly call it bad, personally I just don't like her voice. Its just complaining for the sake of it, it you think the VA is bad in DA you must think it is in every game. Now if people say they don't like a particular voice actor/actress thats different.
-
I personally enjoyed it more then GTA 4, while the graphics are poor, the gameplay is awesome fun. The ending left some unanswered questions though. If I had a PS3 I would get both, Infamous sounds sweet too. However Prototype powers are better, Alex is basically Carnage, while in Infamous you shoot lightning.
-
Claudia Black does the voice acting.
-
New diseases appear all the time, I don't see why it would be different in the future or for other races.
-
Prototype, good fun.
-
I can think of about 4-5 years of mainstream games with better graphics. Graphics are not a feature thats going to sell this game, in fact it will be ignored by many gamers because of them, rightly or wrongly.
