  1. wow, another bug I've encountered, I gave the unique weapon Pushy to Veronica, and she did wear it, and now after a few hour into the game, she doesn't carry it anymore... way to screw me wen I try to be nice with my companions...
  2. You know, I'm really enjoying this game despite the massive amount of bugs/glitches but I was wondering, will Obsidian ever make another Fallout game? I think they probably got free card this time by Zenimax because of the Van Buren legacy, so they could port most of the plot/ideas. But like I said, I really love this game, it fits way more into the Fallout universe than Fallout 3, I just wish Obsidian could make more Fallout games.
  3. I'm not sure if it's the right topic to say but... of all the games Obsidian has made, this is BY FAR the most broken game they ever made... Bugged companions quests, main events totally broken ( ex: entering the Lucky 38 after Victor talked to the hero and having the robots inside shooting you for no reason whatsoever), game freezing when trying to reach a certain city (Primm) later on... among other things. I realy don't understand what happened, did Obsidian got "KOTORed" again? lacked manpower? got abduced by little aliens in flying saucers? previous games like NVWN2 and KOTOR2 did possess their share of bugs/glitches, but at least they never bugged on quests for me. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE this game, but all those problems brings down a lot the fun you have when playing this game.
  4. You must be a lonely man in the wasteland aren't you... and to say that the majority of players would be like you...nah, I think you have no idea what the "majority" of players think.
  5. Just wanting to say: loving this game so far but...how could Obsidian screw the companions quests so much? so full of bugs & glitches... Really Obsidian, I am forgiving for a lot of things, but effin up the companions until some patch dares to point out... hell not even Jesus would forgive you.
  6. looks good to me but hey : haters gonna hate.
  7. I would really love to see more info about the classes and trees aptitudes.
  8. Since I never played the previous DS (not sure if Obsidian will even follow the same gameplay path), I was wondering if that game would have specific classes to choose, just like Diablo 2 or Sacred 2 for example, you know with specific trees/aspects or if you would possess the freedom to build your character by picking the skills you wanted. I hope for some specific classes, I always liked that genre.
  9. That's because they don't want to show to the public how they give fat enveloppes under the table to the journalists joke aside, I kinda agree with you.
  10. Temple Guardian's the name And yeah, Sacred 2 is a great game and even if it sold better on consoles....it still sold poorly. But I think there is a market on console for the "loot" game genre, just look at Borderlands, more than 3M copies sold ( the fps aspect did help for pple to get aclimated to the loot and skils trees).
  11. Man, I can't believe how much hate this topic possess. The game has been barely announced and already people bash it, guys, it's cool, don't like it? then move along, go spend your time onto something better tyvm. So far I've enjoyed all Obsidian games despite their flaws, and I'm sure this one will pleases me too. If someone was looking for blockbuster games then they maybe should go and play MW2 and all those AAA titles that sells like pancakes but don't have any substance in them.
  12. Well since I enjoyed playing this game, i hope it will have enough sales to allow for a sequel.
  13. Hey guys, I just wanted to link the Joystiq AP review where one of the users commentaries is supposed from someone who worked on AP, I don't know if what he says is true or not but if it was true I guess it would be a shame. I played all of the Obsidian games (except NWN2:SoZ expansion) and I'm still getting AP next week and I'm sure I'm gonna enjoy playing it but I just can't stop wondering what if the developement would have been different. the link: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/28/alpha-pr...view/3#comments As for the " the tired dev" comment, here's what he says: "a tired dev @ May 28th 2010 2:37PM I worked on this game (a fact of which I am not proud). I'm not here to defend it; I agree with all these reviews. First, a comment for the guy at Cheesecake Factory - Most devs eat in the office most days, if they do go out they tend to grab something at the food court and head back. I know the execs take long lunches, but they often use them for informal meetings as well. Most of the programmers and designers very rarely ate outside the office during the time I was on this project. There was a ton of work put into this game. The problem is that is was a ton of undirected work, or work on things that were just stupid. The Executive Producer for the game, Chris Parker (also an owner of the company), seemed to think he was the world's greatest designer ever, and created all these absolutely ****ty systems and wouldn't listen to any of the real designers or devs about things that just didn't work. And you can't exactly argue with one of the owners of the company when he doesn't want to listen. He basically took over the game and dictated exactly how everything would work (or not work, as the case may be). The other producers realized this early on and just gave up, leaving Parker to micromanage all the designers and programmers directly. Sega also was a factor, because they kept changing the design requirements (yes they had heavy influence there), which never gave the producers and designers time to actually decide on one set of features to make and polish. The blame is still mostly Obsidian's because the execution was absolutely terrible, and it was obvious 2 years ago that this game should have been scrapped. Instead, though, they focused on adding still more features and never fixed the ones they already had. That is a recipe for tons of bugs and no polish... as is obvious. This game was just an absolute failure of production, and it's no wonder that so many of the developers left the company, even after the 40% staff layoffs. I am still happy about some of Obsidian's other current projects, New Vegas included, because they are going pretty well. Their big unannounced project is looking great and is already much better than AP ever was, and that may end up being the game that everyone was looking for with AP. Sega should have canceled AP instead of Aliens..."
  14. WotS 1, 2, 3 & Western are amazing games, I've got all of them and my favortie so far is the second, I think I've spend like 150 hours collecting swords and playing in the one hit kill mode(Iado style ftw!)
  15. QFT, seriously, I live in Brussels, everytime a game is released with french voice acting (without the possibility to switch the language) in need to make a purchase from Amazon.uk to be able to get the game in english. Honestly guys, you don't know how the voice acting is HORRIBLE, it's like they hired some hobo's to do the work....seriously! And this is not only for the french part, it is also the same deal with the Spanish dubs.... Its obvious that these countries doesn't have the same quality of voice actors, not only for videogames but also for cartoons and dubbed movies, it's like they don't care.... Anyway, I'll be getting AP from amazon.uk.
  16. "anyone else here is obsessed with the game?" I live in panic every day fearing that the day I pick AP on the shelves I might die of an heath attack. Everyday when I awoke instead of saying good morning I say Alpha Protocol and when I go to sleep, instead of saying goodnight, I say "Alpha Protocol". I 've lost the apetite and my work quality is degrading more & more everyday, my 2 cats died because instead of giving them food I was spending my time checking in the "internets" anything related to Ap, I didn't even remove the bodies yet.... That's how desperate I am, AP iz my obsession, my drug, my ruin, I'm ready to sell my 2 kidneys just to be able to touch the game right now... *goes back playing on his 360*
  17. thx for the link, very nice video.... but man, there's a lot of negative comments at gametrailers, I hate that kind of players who just want eye candy games and bash anything else that doesn't look MW2 or GoW...
  18. I was browsing in the xbox live arcade game, picking some amazing games ( Darwinia+ & Explosion Man) and it struck to me that there's wasn't enough rpg games over there. I think Obsidian could make, in their spare time, a good little 2D rpg game like Fallout or Arcanum and release it on PSN & XBLA. I am pretty sure that the sales will cover up the expenses and even make some profit for Obsidian. I mean, look at the sales of these games, Castle Crasher or Trials, they're selling like pancakes! I say there's potential over there for a good rpg. Anyway, this was just my 2 cents.
  19. ^^ Well, you have a point there.
  20. were they in ME1? no ,and I can say that on the insanity difficulty they aren't so overpowered like you would like to think, hell all the shotguns sucked hard, that's why BW released shortly after a DLC shotty that worked well. Anyway, BW ****ed up so hard the skills in ME2 that it's not even funny, instead of specializing in the weapon of your choice those 'tards decided that ammos would be skills, huge failure in every aspect. But that is if you consider ME2 to be some kind of rpg...which is not, it's a badly done Gears of War wannabe in my book.
  21. I didn't bother to read the whole topic but I just want to say that after beating 2 times Mass Effect 2 I REALLY ****ING HATE AMMO! You can't even imagine how boring and extremely non immersive the fact that you need to look in every corner for ammo or swith to another weapon that you don't like. And it is even more frustrating at higher difficulties when ennemies are way thougher. Please Obsidian, I beg of you, don't fail like Bioware did with ME2.
  22. it will most likely play like Mass Effect...
  23. http://www.gamersyde.com/news_6045_fr.html well,at least it's based on Star Wars...
  24. I know this topic has been done to death already, but I'll just add my voice to the chorus. There's already a Star Wars-based MMORPG (Galaxies). Making a second one with only very slight changes in setting (so fine, it's set 4000 years earlier, but it's all the same basic elements, with perhaps the exception that there is no Empire or remnant of the Empire and the Republic hasn't fallen or is in a state of being rebuilt) doesn't make much sense. I've never played the existing one (in fact I've only in my life ever played two MMORPGs), and I understand one of the complaints was it was too hard to become a Jedi. Then I heard they nerfed that due to player complaints and as expected the galaxy is now overrun with thousands of them. I guess they could make the KOTOR setting very "low magic" (i.e. low Jedi) but I don't think it will be a player draw. SWG is a dying game,it's time they start to make another one.
  25. I don't know,I played and loved a lot of Epic games (especially Unreal Championship 2,great story) but I didn't like neither GoW or UT3. First reason:I HATE the character design, humans looks like guys on steroids and got elephant legs. For GoW I suppose they fit in,but for UT? please... Second reason: UT3 is really really really way behind his predecessors, where is the diversity? where are half of the races? where are the colors? where are the maps? and let's not even talk about how crap the interface is. No wonder why UT3 bombed.
